- The ticket is valid only for the date and time reserved. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a time entrance of the Vatican Museums tour voucher. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Changes cannot be made less than 24 hours before the activity starts. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. ALL participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
- While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs/walkers on this tour. If you have any kind of disability and a certificate to prove it, please let us know in advance, as you might be eligible for free entry.
- Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
- We cannot accommodate service animals.
- Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
- Large umbrellas are not permitted, please leave these at your accommodation.
- No pictures, videos, or even speaking is allowed in the Sistine Chapel.
- St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). Please note that closures of St. Peter's Basilica can happen anytime without further notice. No refunds are recognized for unexpected closures.

If you want an efficient, easy but highly informative tour of the Vatican and St Peter’s, book this tour! Carlotta was an amazing guide. She was organised, reassuring, adaptable and humorous. She knew just how much history and art information to give us without being overloaded and her personal anecdotes added spice to a really interesting tour. One our highlights and highly recommended!

We toured the Vatican with Tonia on a Thursday morning! We hit all the highlights on this tour but honestly could have spent a full day (vs the 3 hours we had to do the museums, Sistine chapel and St peters) exploring the Vatican. I am glad we took the guided tour though just because otherwise it would have been very overwhelming (not to mention having to wait in lines...). Tonia was very engaging and shared a lot of history that brought the artwork and the architecture to life. However at the end of the tour she did give us some misinformation (or perhaps we misunderstood her). She pointed to an area to buy tickets to climb the dome, but that was not where the tickets were. The actual ticket line (I think) was outside in the square - the line was too long and everyone seemed a little uncertain what they were in line for so we ended up skipping the dome climb.

The Vatican Museums are vast, spanning approximately 7 km and home to around 70,000 works, with roughly 20,000 on display at any time! So, you could indeed spend days exploring them in depth. The early morning tour was the best way to see the Vatican. Crowds can make it difficult to enjoy the Vatican and early morning entrance was a real advantage. Just know that “ skip the line” only means you bypass the general public line. You still wait about an half hour outside in line with your group before gaining entry. Also know there are 2 coffee shops( 1 either direction) of the initial meeting point.
Our guide Lucia was amazing. Not only was she humorous but her knowledge of the Vatican history was solid. She knew where to take us at what point so we avoided some of the crowds early on. It is a lot of stairs and walking so just be prepared and take water with you. It is an incredible place and Lucia never let up for 3 + hours, and always kept tabs on us despite the huge crowds in the Sistine chapel and the Basilica.

You are correct; we never wait in the general line because we have timed entry tickets booked in advance. However, there are security checks at the Vatican that cannot be skipped by anyone, and during the high season, when there are a lot of people entering at the same time, there are some delays and inevitable lines even for tour groups, because the number of metal detectors is limited, but every person entering must be checked.

This is a must do!! Even if you are not religious… you cannot mistake the beauty and magnificent minds that created such a place! Artwork, statues, architecture, and all the history that comes with it. I would do it again because there is so much more to see and learn it’s actually pretty overwhelming, but amazing!

While the tour is relatively long, you could span a day or two more exploring all the Vatican has to see. Our Tour guide (Elaine) was very informative and mixed in humor to keep all those in the group entertained.
I highly recommend purchasing the small group tour. This allows the group to move along and see many things that the larger groups have to pass by. Of all our tours that we have taken on this vacation Elaine made this the most enjoyable tour.
Her English is very good but sometimes it was hard to understand her because she is from England:-).

Wonderful tour with engaging, knowledgeable guide. Meet up and check in at their office was easy. Early morning tour worth it as allowed more space in rooms to see everything. Great tour however super crowded, of course no fault of the tour company. Elaine did a great job of navigating the group through the main points of the Vatican. Just a place that should be experienced over multiple visits, one section at a time, unless you're into things like crammed elevators or commuter trains.

Chinchia was lovely. I did the early morning tour, although it still felt rushed given how much there is to see. Stunning none the less.

The Vatican custodians are there for several reasons, one being to direct the flow of visitors throughout the museums, and the guides must follow their directives. Furthermore, with the sheer amount of galleries to explore and sights to see, the tour prioritises the highlights and must-sees of the Vatican, making the most of the 3-hour duration! This was a fantastic experience. Our tour guide Jeannette from What a Life Tours was over the top knowledgeable, funny and highly engaging.
The early morning start made this experience so much better as crowds were relatively small getting in at the front of the queue.
The artisanship in this compound is a must see in your lifetime. I highly recommend! Dress appropriately!

I’m so glad I read feedback regarding Vatican tours first and opted for this early morning visit. Early morning is the way to go!! Our guide was knowledgeable, insightful, able to answer questions and was super passionate about Vatican City - her enthusiasm was infectious! I loved this tour, I can’t imagine doing the Vatican museums without a guide. 11/10 recommend!

The tour group personnel didn't require people in our group follow the dress code. Multiple people had shorts on, scooter skirts, dresses showing their knees. The sign up email firmly states no knees or shoulders showing. And we were long pants, and sweated thru it. Only for the guide to say. "OH they're not as strict on dress code" complete opposite of the written instructions on the website

Vatican rules require that shoulders and knees be covered; whether the guards are lax about the rule is not up to us. However, the onus is on us to relay this information to guests before the tour. Furthermore, we state that "(shorts down to the knees)" are okay, so in no scenario did we specify that long pants are required.
It is unfortunate that, from the overall experience, this is the aspect of the tour you chose to leave a review on; something that is entirely out of our control.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our golf cart driver, Phillip. He was kind, professional, knowledge, and went above and beyond to make our tour special.
What meant the most to us was how thoughtfully Phillip catered our tour to our Catholic faith. He listened carefully to the sites and experiences that were important to us and made sure we had the opportunity to visit them. He was incredibly respectful of our beliefs and understood that this was more than just sightseeing for us, it was a meaningful and spiritual experience.
