- The ticket is valid only for the date and time reserved. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a time entrance of the Vatican Museums tour voucher. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. ALL participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
- While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs/walkers on this tour.
- Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
- We cannot accommodate service animals.
- Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
- Large umbrellas are not permitted, please leave these at your accommodation.
- No pictures, videos, or even speaking is allowed in the Sistine Chapel.
- St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). Please note that closures of St. Peter's Basilica can happen anytime without further notice. No refunds are recognized for unexpected closures.

Highly recommend doing a tour for the Vatican. I went 10 years ago with no tour guide and it’s just aimless walking, a tour guide truly shows you the amazing works in this museum. Also highlight of getting to take the short cut through the Vatican to St Peter’s Basilica. Our guide was excellent and it was nice not having crowds for the Vatican Museum portion.

We did the semi private tour, thru What a Life Tours and it was amazing! Our guide was Jeanette and her knowledge of the Vatican, its history and the artifacts is outstanding. She was very engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. The tour consisted of only about 10 guests which was the perfect size. This is the way to see the Vatican!

Our Early Morning Vatican Tour was the way to go! We were able to bypass the long lines and crowds and get within the walls of the Vatican before it got too hot. Our tour guide was awesome. She expertly navigated us through the numerous corridors to get us to the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica with ease. When the tour guide asked “…is there anyone scared of heights? ” There is nothing scary about climbing to the Dome. When my tour guide said “…scared of heights” My husband got scared and decided not to do the stairs to the Dome. The steps up to the Dome are wide enough for 2 people that there is nothing scary about them. I ended up going up by myself. My husband missed out. Please don’t confuse the tourists.

This was done to give guests a heads up of the possibility of fears arising, versus being said to scare people away.

The early morning small group Vatican tour with What a Life Tours was awesome. The check in process was easy and our small group consisted of 8. Lucia, our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job of highlighting important, as well as a few lesser known facts. She also did a great job of keeping our group together, getting us up close for viewing artwork, sculptures, etc and engaging anyone who might have questions about any of the venues. The final stop was St Peter’s Basilica, where she walked us through the main attractions and gave a fantastic dialogue of the important information, followed by verifying if all our questions were answered before ending the tour and allowing us all the free time we needed to explore the Basilica. The information on a tour like this can (and is) overwhelming. However, she made it fun and easy. Booking tickets in advance for small groups such as this, is the only way to go. There were 100’s standing in line to buy tickets at the door and groups were given priority

Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Cynthia was very knowledgeable, passionate, and a pro at navigating the crowds and keeping our group together. She took us through the highlights but also gave us space to ask questions. While we waited a little while for the museum to open, time she used yo explain the sistine chapel ceiling, we got into St. peter’s with no wait!!! I can’t imagine trying to do this tour on our own.

This was a great tour and our guide, Jeb, made it all the better with his perspective, knowledge base (especially with the art) and witty commentary. The size of the tour (10-12 people) was also optimal to keep up with our guide and get an all around better experience. Definitely worth any additional cost. I would also highly recommend taking a long tour (at least the 3.5 hour tour we took) to make sure you get the best chance to appreciate the highlights of the Vatican. The tour required a brisk pace through the museums (as would be expected on a tour of this kind). You could honestly spend just a day in the museums, but this was such a great introduction to the Vatican!

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. The guide was absolutely amazing. She was so incredibly knowledgeable and understanding. She was very good at relating to others. She prioritise the comfort and knowledge of our group. And I really couldn't ask for anything better. This was our favourite tour in all of Rome! The Vatican was beautiful, and our guide was very knowledgeable. We managed to avoid most of the incoming crowd thanks to our guide’s planning!
We were able to see the entirety of the Vatican museum, as well as the Basilica before the large crowd, and it never felt rushed.
