We had a fantastic time at the gluten-free cooking class! Chef Christian made the experience so much fun with great music, wine, and a relaxed atmosphere. I had never made fresh pasta before, so I learned so much throughout the class. Even my husband, who doesn't need to eat gluten-free, said it was the best pasta he's ever had!
We can't wait to get home and recreate the recipes ourselves. We also brought our one-year-old with us, and the staff were incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating, even though having a toddler made things a little more complicated.
The location is easy to reach by bus or taxi and is set within a beautiful nature reserve, making it feel like a peaceful escape from the city. I highly recommend this class to anyone, whether you're gluten-free or simply love great food!

This gluten-free cooking class was an amazing experience for our whole family, and Chef Christian was the best! I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a gluten-free cooking class, because you will come away with new skills and new recipes. Definitely come hungry, as you will be making and eating a mountain of delicious food!
My 13-year-old daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease about a year and a half ago, and one thing she has been missing was taking any cooking classes. I am so happy we got to take this one on our trip to Italy, because it's one of the best cooking classes I've ever taken (and I've done lots). Chef Christian gives lots of practical advice, and it feels like his techniques would be ones I would be able to use at home. We all got to make delicious pasta and gnocchi from scratch, and they were by far the best gluten-free versions of either we've ever had. We also made gelato from scratch, which was incredibly rich and creamy. We got to learn how to make gluten-free pizza dough as well, which generated some beautiful pizzas. Afterward, Chef Christian provided all of us with his cookbooks to ensure we would be able to have all the recipes for the delicious pasta, pizza, sauces, and gelato from the class.
Chef Christian was a wonderful teacher, both funny and engaging. His love of cooking and sharing his knowledge with others shone through the entire time. He was happy to answer questions and explain his thinking in creating these wonderful dishes. He was great with my kids (ages 11 and 13), and the whole family had a blast. We are excited to try making these things at home. Thank you so much, Chef Christian!

We had a great time learning to make gluten free pasta with Christian! He was great with teaching us not only about the ingredients and why they work but also the history behind the ingredients. My children range from 9-23 and all 4 had a blast. My youngest is a picky eater but because he helped create the meal, he tried each of the dishes and now has opened his eyes (and stomach) to so much more. I HIGHLY recommend this class! This will by far be my favorite part of our trip! (On a side note, I’m the only gluten free one in our family and they all loved the pasta dishes just as much as I did)

We can’t possibly say enough good things about our experience with Christian and this Gluten Free Pasta making class. Our family has many celiacs and so knowing this was a truly gluten free experience was so reassuring. Christian is an artist when it comes to making pasta and he made us feel so welcome and knowledgeable, like family! It’s hard to decide what was better—learning to make the pasta or eating it! Truly the most fun (and delicious!) meal of our trip to Europe. We plan on booking another class with Christian next time we return!
Amy_M, Jul 2026
Absolutely loved this class. Our girls (7 and 5) loved it too and Christian kept us all engaged and making our lunch so easily!
It was absolutely worth the money and the recipe book will come in handy when we get home!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much for your lovely message!
I’m truly delighted that you all enjoyed the class — and hearing that your girls (7 and 5!) had such a great time absolutely made my day. Keeping everyone engaged, smiling, and making lunch together is exactly the kind of energy I love in my kitchen.
I’m thrilled you found the experience worth every penny, and even happier that the recipe book will be useful once you’re back home. That’s the goal: you come for the fun… and you leave with new skills you can use forever.
If, once you’re home, you need help with a dough, a sauce, a technique, or even just a little encouragement, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to support my guests beyond the class — your pasta journey doesn’t end at the Appia Antica!
Thank you again for choosing my gluten‑free pasta experience.
I hope to welcome you back to Rome for another delicious adventure.
Warm regards,
Christian Righi

It was fun and entertaining. It is an essential skill for our gluten free daughter and if was encouraging to all of us how easy it was to follow along with the glass and make the pasta.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much
Thank you for your lovely review — I’m really glad the class was fun and entertaining for the whole family. Knowing that the lesson felt encouraging and that your gluten‑free daughter gained an essential skill means a great deal to me.
What I appreciated in your message
Family learning — seeing everyone follow along and enjoy the process is exactly the atmosphere I aim to create.
Celiac safety and confidence — making gluten‑free cooking feel simple and reliable is one of my top priorities.
Hands‑on approach — getting your hands in the dough is the fastest way to learn, and I’m happy it worked so well for you all.
Practical tips to try at home
Dough texture — aim for a soft, slightly tacky ball that holds together; add liquid slowly until you reach that feel.
Rest time — let the dough rest 20–30 minutes so the flours hydrate and become easier to roll.
Quick cook test — fresh GF pasta cooks fast; test a small piece after 60–90 seconds to find perfect al dente.
Kid friendly steps — let children press, shape, and sprinkle — small tasks build confidence and make it fun.
I’m here to help
If you try the recipes at home and want feedback, send a photo of your dough or finished plate — I’ll happily give tailored tips on texture, hydration, or reheating. Don’t hesitate to contact me for any question, big or small.
Come back anytime
It was a pleasure cooking with your family. I’d love to welcome you again for another class — perhaps a session designed especially for kids or a deeper dive into sauces and shapes.
Warm regards,
Christian Righi

This experience was an absolute highlight for me and my celiac family! The gourmet experience is a short taxi ride from the city and we actually were the only ones there- a rarity in Rome in June! Christian was kind, funny and a very good teacher and honestly the pasta we made was the best we ate in our 3 day trip! Not only did he teach us step by step 3 different pastas and the nuances of working with gluten free flours but also gave us a historical tour of the property and recommended other things to do in the area. After we said our goodbyes we took a short walk to the St Sebastian catacombs which was a welcome cool refuge. An experience our family will never forget, a new friend and new skills- a must do if in Rome!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much for this wonderful and heartfelt review.
Reading your message brought back the joy of that day — your family’s energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm made the experience truly special for me as well.
I’m delighted that the class became a highlight of your trip, especially for a celiac family. Creating a safe, relaxed and delicious gluten‑free experience is something I care about deeply, and hearing that the pasta you made was the best of your entire stay in Rome is a compliment I will treasure.
Teaching you the three gluten‑free pastas, sharing the nuances of working with special flours, and guiding you through the history of the property are all part of what makes this experience unique. I’m happy you enjoyed the little cultural journey as much as the cooking.
And I love that you continued the adventure with a visit to the St. Sebastian Catacombs — the perfect cool-down after a warm Roman day!
Your words about “a new friend and new skills” truly touched me.
If you ever try the recipes at home and need help with a dough, a sauce, or a technique, please feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to support my guests even from afar — your pasta journey doesn’t end when you leave Rome.
Thank you again for your kindness and enthusiasm.
I hope to welcome you back soon for another unforgettable experience.
Warm regards,
Christian Righi

This experience was INCREDIBLE!! My celiac sister and I had such a great time- it was one of the best, if not THE best, meals we had in Rome! On top of being an excellent chef and teacher, Christian is so fun and entertaining. The recipes are actually pretty simple to make at home, and we definitely will make them using the cookbook Christian sent. If you are GF, or just a foodie in general, this is a MUST-DO!!!! Thank you, Christian!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much
Thank you for this wonderful review — reading that the class was one of the best meals you and your celiac sister had in Rome truly made my day. I’m so glad the experience hit the mark: safe, delicious, and full of fun.
What I loved about your message
Celiac‑friendly success — creating gluten‑free pasta that feels special and worry‑free is at the heart of what I do, so I’m thrilled it worked so well for you both.
Simple, do‑at‑home recipes — I design the recipes to be approachable, and I’m delighted the cookbook I sent will help you recreate the dishes with confidence.
Teaching with a smile — hearing that you found the class entertaining and informative is the best compliment; I love mixing technique with a little laughter.
Practical help after the class
If you try the recipes at home and want any help, I’m here for you. I can assist with:
Dough texture and hydration for different gluten‑free flour blends.
Cooking times and sauce pairings so your pasta keeps the right bite.
Storage and reheating tips to preserve flavour and texture.
Feel free to send a photo of your dough or finished plate — I’ll happily give tailored feedback and quick fixes.
Come back anytime
If you return to Rome I’d be honored to welcome you again — whether for another gluten‑free class, a private session to master a specific shape, or a meal at the restaurant. There will always be a warm welcome, a seat at the table, and a fresh bottle of limoncello waiting.
Thank you again for your kind words and for choosing to spend part of your trip with me. It was a pleasure cooking with you and your sister, and I look forward to seeing the pasta you make at home.
Warm regards,
Christian Righi

I booked this cooking class for my family of 3. My son is young, only 5 and had the best time making pasta. Chef Christian is knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and has a true passion for cooking. I will cherish this memory for a lifetime, and also his cook book! I can’t wait to make fresh authentic Italian food with gluten free ingredients. A true delight. You won’t ever have to miss out on pasta night again! Book his class!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you so much for this beautiful and heartfelt review — it truly warmed my day.
I’m thrilled to hear that your family of three had such a wonderful time, and knowing that your 5‑year‑old son enjoyed making pasta is just priceless. Cooking with little ones brings a special kind of joy and spontaneity to the kitchen, and seeing him dive into the experience was a delight for me as well.
Your kind words about my passion, friendliness, and engagement mean more than you know. Creating an experience that feels welcoming, fun, and empowering — especially for families and for those cooking gluten‑free — is exactly what I care about. And the fact that you’ll cherish this memory for a lifetime (cookbook included!) is the greatest reward.
I can’t wait for you to recreate fresh, authentic Italian dishes at home with gluten‑free ingredients. With the right techniques, you truly never have to miss pasta night again — and your kitchen is about to smell like Rome.
Thank you again for your trust, your enthusiasm, and your warmth.
A true delight from beginning to end
Lauren_B, Apr 2026
This was the highlight of our trip to Italy! Not only did we enjoy learning new techniques for pasta making, Christian made the entire experience next level. He is so talented and creative and most of all patient with our lack of culinary skills. :) We would go back to Rome just to do this class again. It's so hard to find gluten free cooking classes, let alone one of this caliber and we are SO happy to have found this one. 100% worth every penny and more, this experience is a 12/10! Thank you again Christian!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you so much for this absolutely incredible review — it genuinely made my day!
Knowing that this was the highlight of your entire trip to Italy is the kind of feedback that stays with me for a long time. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed learning new pasta‑making techniques and that the whole experience felt “next level” — that’s exactly the energy I love bringing into the kitchen.
Your words about talent, creativity, and especially patience made me smile. Guiding guests step‑by‑step, no matter their starting point, is one of my favorite parts of teaching. Cooking should feel joyful, never stressful — and I’m glad that came through.
Hearing that you’d return to Rome just to take the class again is the ultimate compliment. And you’re right: truly great gluten‑free cooking classes are rare, which is why I put so much heart into making this one special, safe, and delicious for everyone.
A 12/10… that’s going straight into my personal hall of fame.
Thank you again for your warmth, your enthusiasm, and your trust.
The kitchen door is always open for you — Rome awaits your next visit!

This was by far one of the best tours/experiences I have ever done! Christian was amazing from the beginning to the end. He was fun and had great information about the history of Italy. The pasta was to die for!! My friend isn’t gluten free and she said it was the best pasta she has ever had. I recommend this to anyone!!!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you so much for your amazing review. I’m truly honored to hear that this was one of the best experiences you’ve ever had. From beginning to end, it was a real pleasure having you both in the class.
I’m delighted that you enjoyed the stories about Italy’s history and that the pasta made such an impression — especially knowing your friend isn’t gluten‑free and still said it was the best pasta she’s ever had. That means a lot.
Thank you for your enthusiasm, your energy, and your wonderful recommendation. I’m really happy this experience became such a special part of your time in Rome.
Stacie_S, Dec 2025
We joined Chef Christian in his beautiful new facility to learn how to make three types of gluten free pasta. The Chef was a great instructor, full of stories about evolution of the food we made/ate, and sharing his memories and experiences that shaped him. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and provided fresh basil and sage used in our meal. His kitchen is Celiac safe. All three of the dishes tasted special and exceptional!
P.S. He also went beyond his chef role after I left my phone in the taxi, arranging for the taxi driver to bring it back.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I’m delighted that you enjoyed the experience in my new kitchen — it’s a space I created to share good food, good stories, and a bit of the journey that brought me here.
Cooking gluten‑free pasta together, surrounded by the garden’s basil and sage, felt like a perfect Roman moment, and I’m really happy the dishes tasted special to you. Creating a safe and welcoming space for coeliac guests is something I care deeply about, so your words truly mean a lot.
And I’m glad we managed to get your phone back — sometimes the chef’s job extends a little beyond the stove!
You’re always welcome back for more pasta, stories, and fresh herbs from the garden.
Tricia_M, Nov 2025
This is a must do experience! Christian was phenomenal! We learned unique sauces and pasta types, all while being gluten free. My husband is ceiliac and our lunch with Christian was our favorite meal of a 3 week trip in Italy. Can’t wait to go home and make this pastas for friends and family.

Intimate pasta making course with amazing gluten free pasta. We had so much fun and can’t wait to try the recipes on our own.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you so much! 🙏
It was such a pleasure to host you for this intimate pasta-making journey — where flour met laughter, and gluten-free became deliciously unforgettable.
I loved seeing you dive into the process with curiosity and joy. That’s what it’s all about: turning simple ingredients into soulful moments, and recipes into memories you’ll carry home.
Can’t wait to hear how your recreations go! Just remember: the pasta doesn’t need to be perfect — it needs to be made with heart. And maybe a little mischief. 😉
The kitchen is always open for another round of stories, flavors, and shared smiles. Until next time… buon appetito! 🍝✨
Andrew_P, Sep 2025
Overall 5/5! Christian was a fantastic host, instructor and culinary guide. He also is a 10/10 on personality. He is a professional chef and lets you experience his skill with his unique twists on sauces prepared for the session.
If you’re up for a relaxed, environment with “cooking with friends” vibe he’s your guy.
The class starts with a glass of wine and cracking some jokes, so get ready for a relaxed atmosphere where he walks you through the process of prepping his style of gluten free pasta (it’s really good).
This experience is not for someone who wants a ridged by the book cooking class. If you want to have fun, learn how to make fresh noodles, and then eat some really tasty dishes prepped by Christian with your noodles then this is for you!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
This review is pure joy—thank you for sharing it with such heart and humor! 🙌 Chef Christian is all about creating an atmosphere where cooking feels like a celebration, not a chore. From the first sip of wine to the last twirl of gluten-free noodles, it’s about connection, creativity, and a whole lot of laughter.
We’re so glad you felt the “cooking with friends” vibe—that’s the secret ingredient! Christian’s passion, personality, and playful twists on tradition are what make each class unforgettable. No rigid rules here, just real flavor, real fun, and the kind of pasta that makes you say “wait… this is gluten-free?!”
Thanks for bringing your energy to the table. You’re always welcome back—Christian’s got more jokes, more sauces, and more smiles waiting for you! 🍷🍝✨

It was a great experience for me and my daughter in Rome. Christian was so friendly and fun. As a celiac I was super excited to have this experience!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you so much! Your message absolutely made my day—and probably made my pasta smile too 🍝😊
It was such a joy having you and your daughter in the kitchen. The energy you brought, the curiosity, the laughter—it’s exactly what transforms a cooking class into a real Roman experience. I always say: food is the excuse, connection is the real recipe!
And knowing that, as a celiac, you felt safe and excited to dive into the world of gluten free pasta warms my heart. That’s not just important—it’s essential. Every ingredient we use, every surface we touch, every recipe we share is designed to make sure everyone can enjoy the magic of Italian cooking without worry.
You two rolled, shaped, and cooked like pros—and the way you teamed up was beautiful to watch. I hope the memories you made in our kitchen stay with you long after the last bite. And hey, if you ever want to come back for gnocchi round two or a wine tasting adventure, the door is always open and the flour is always gluten free 😉
Sending you both a big Roman hug, Chef Christian 👨🍳🇮🇹

I’m glad the experience showed you how doable (and tasty!) gluten-free cooking can be. Here’s to more homemade pasta adventures and plenty of delicious bites ahead! 🍝✨
Warmly, Chef Christian

We had a wonderful time with Christian learning how to make GF pasta. We’ve been GF for almost 10 years (when our son was diagnosed as celiac) and I thought I knew all there was to know about GF cooking. Not so! New techniques and so much fun. We all had a blast. Grazie mille, Cristiano!

We had the best afternoon learning how to make 3 different types of pasta with different sauces including the Italian way to make Alfredo without cream 😊 (it was delicious). Christian was so kind and we even got to meet a couple of his friends who were equally wonderful. I would highly recommend him and any class that he offers, he owned a restaurant for over 20 years and has a ton of knowledge on fantastic recipes. He is moving to a new location and I hope I end up in Rome again to be able to enjoy another class. Thank you again Christian I wish wonderful things for you in your new location.
Response from Host, Jul 2025

It was such a pleasure spending the afternoon with you and sharing the joy (and a little magic) of making pasta together. I'm thrilled you enjoyed learning the secret behind a proper Alfredo—no cream, just love and tradition! Meeting lovely people like you is what makes every class unforgettable, and having my friends there to join the fun was the cherry on top.
Thank you for your incredibly kind words and warm wishes for my new adventure. I'm crossing my fingers you'll end up in Rome again—we'll roll out fresh pasta and fresh stories all over again. Sending you a big hug and a plate of virtual tagliatelle! 🍝✨
With affection, Christian 💙

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was an absolute pleasure having your group in the kitchen—there's nothing better than sharing the joy of pasta-making with curious and engaged guests like you. 🍝✨
And yes, teaming up with the gelato maestro? That’s the cherry (or should I say stracciatella swirl) on top! From rolling dough to that final sweet scoop, I'm thrilled the experience left such a positive taste.
To future food explorers: this isn’t just a class—it’s an Italian culinary duet you didn’t know you needed. Pasta, gelato, and a whole lot of heart await! 🇮🇹🍨
