Overview

When in Rome, do as the Romans did and watch a gladiator fight in the heart of the ancient city. Taking place in the Gruppo Storico Romano, close to the Colosseum, you’ll watch a recreated gladiator fight minus the gory bits, and enjoy food made from ancient Roman recipes. Watch fights, ancient dances, and rituals of the Vestal Virgins, and even pose for photos in gladiator armor. Fantastic evening out

On my fourth solo trip to Rome, I looked for something different to do other than going to bars in the evening. I came across a Gladiator show on Viator... so thought as I'm part of a wrestling company, this would be fun! I was not disappointed. I had a fantastic time despite being on my own. There were couples and families and everyone was welcomed and taken down to a museum. We had a lovely host ( Ivan I think was his name) who was just fantastic throughout the whole evening. He was fantastic with the kids within the group and picked out some to try on helmets etc. After a trip to the museum you have the chance to have have some authentic food and wine/water . I didn't try the food but did indulge in a wine. After refreshments we got taken into the arena for the show. You're in the arena for about an hour with a procession, dancers and Gladiator fights. Time went so quickly- a good sign of a good time. Some of the kids got involved too. I would recommend this for anyone travelling alone, with friends or family. I found it easily- bus stop is two minute walk away. Most got taxis but being alone I couldn't spend money on a taxi for one. I definitely will be back on my next trip to Rome, maybe get a Gladiator class as well! Thank you for a great night!

Fun show with staged gladiator fights well performed. Good things the swords aren’t sharp! And someone gets to be selected as the…. wait for them it. To be the emperor and sit on the dais as part of the show. Yes it was me! Lol

Gladiator Experience

WOW!! We didn't know what to expect arriving to this place. Well as soon as it started, we were taken to a museum, and the guide told us the story of the Romen Empire and how the gladiators came into history. He had so much knowledge of the history and details of the weapons and armor that the Gladiators used. Then we walk to the arena where the main entertainment was going to happen. There are 4 gladiators that will fight, and they didn't hold back on engaging one another. It felt somewhat life like, and it was very entertaining. This is a great experience to do while in Rome.

We first saw the show 5 years ago and it was a highlight of our trip. This time we brought our friends to this show. Everyone has a great time. I would say the show 5 years ago had more Gladiator flights and now was more kid friendly.

Excellent night apart from the mosquitoe

The enthusiasm and knowledge of the host was impressive and his jokes made us laugh. The gladiator fights were energetic and realistic and the mime and dancing were entertaining The wine and snacks were tasty and the museum aptly gruesome. The only downside was the mosquitoes. The organisers are aware of this and if you ask, will let you use some spray but there are no warnings about this, so you don't know until you've been bitten. Would I go again? Yes but I would cover myself in mosquito spray first.

An honest review - Not too great

Regrettably, my experience left much to be desired. While the show's description held promise, the execution fell short in terms of quality. The actual gladiator performance lasted a mere 10 minutes and lacked the anticipated excitement. I apologize for my candid review, but I believe in honesty. I do believe that families with children under the age of 10 might find it enjoyable.

No memorable moments, extremely average at best. Location hard to get to & from. The Gladiator show was appalling, only about 5 minutes of supposed Gladiators in combat, which was so underwhelming as a spectacle.

My adult son and I attended this show. It was AWESOME! Making it especially wonderful was tour guide Titus (real name Giacomo). His knowledge of ancient Rome and gladiators was exceptional. The show was truly like going back in time to ancient Rome. It was above and beyond our expectations. Highly recommend! 5 stars to the show and to each of the actors and actresses.

Wonderful show. I was fascinated by the atmosphere of the place. The structure, a real miniature amphitheater, the lights, the sounds ..... I thought I was back in time. Gladiator combat was beautiful and very realistic. Thanks to all the actors who made me spend an unforgettable experience.

Difficoltà per arrivare, neanche i taxi conoscono il posto, quando si ha finito lo spettacolo alle 22,15h, non aveva nessun taxi che io personalmente avevo chiesto al arrivare. 45 minuti di attesa sono la possibilità di tornare in hotel, la strada per arrivarci è di sabbia e senza alcuna illuminazione, quindi è impossibile raggiungere la strada. Pessima organizzazione da parte dei responsabili del spettacolo.

Een hele fijne ontvangst met wijn en hapjes en meteen gezellig contact met de acteurs. We voelden ons echt welkom. Voordat de voorstelling begon kregen we een kleine uitleg in het piepkleine Museum waar alle attributen waren opgesteld. Het werd heel erg leuk gedaan. Tijdens de show werd het publiek ook betrokken. De acteurs waren enthousiast en ontzettend vriendelijk. Het was mooi, verrassend en leuk. Zowel voor jongeren als voor ouderen een aanrader.

Diese Gladiatoren-Vorstellung hat unseren Aufenthalt in Rom abgerundet. Nach den vielen Denkmälern gab es etwas handfestes - ein Life-Event. Die Atmosphäre hat uns fasziniert. Die Einleitung und die Kämpfe waren spannend. Toll war auch die Möglichkeit für Fotos im Anschluss.

No ha cumplido para nada nuestras espectativas. El museo de gladiadores es decepcionante y el show regular. El supuesto aperitivo de comida romana es una galleta y un chupito de vino blanco. Ademas esta bastante lejos del centro de roma y hay que pagar un taxi para ir y otro de vuelta. No lo recomiendo

Mit der Buslinie 118 ist der Veranstaltungsort gut zu erreichen. Der Empfang war herzlich. Man könnte dann sogar für den Rückweg ein Taxi bestellen. Zuerst ging es in ein kleines Museum. Dort könnte man Helme, Waffen und Schilde ausprobieren . Danach gab es eine kleine Probe von Wein und römisches Gebäck. Dann kam das eigentliche Highlight, die Show. Hier möchte ich nicht Zuviel verraten. Einfach buchen und Ansehen. Top. Klare Empfehlung, es lohnt sich.

Show fand nicht statt und es gab keine Absage.

Leider gab es die Show an diesem Tag gar nicht, da die Show 2019 generell von Sonnabend auf Sonntag verlegt wurde und ich vor ca. einem halben Jahr die Show für einen Sonnabend gebucht hatte. Eine Information gab es vorher nicht und selbst bei meiner telefonischen Reklamation danach war dies Viator nicht bekannt. Das Gelände der Gladiatorenschule ist ziemlich abgelegen und ich würde nur einen Besuch der Show mit gesichertem Rücktransport empfehlen.
