This was everything we thought it would be and more. Our only regret was we didn't have enough time to truly enjoy Palatine Hill and the Forum
We are history buffs so took our time. The park closed before we finished. We are so thankful we booked this and were able to spend the time we did there.

None We were blocked by marathon.
Tried as we we spent 1.5 hours to reach meeting point...no luck
GPS said we reached location but no one there as stated in app

The Monuments themselves were spectacular, but the audio guide was a little disappointing. It relied on phone signal which disappeared in the Coloseum so I had nothing to tell me about what I was seeing.
It was better at the Palatine and Forum, but it’s such an enormous site and felt like it was just fact-fact-fact rather than firing my imagination

Made it very easy to just get your tickets and go at your own pace. App was easy to use and being able to go from the coliseum directly to the Roman forum was quick and easy. A small premium to not have to worry about going through the official collegium site a month before.

Never found our group and they left without us. Poor directions on a meeting place. Tons of people Discovered we had passed by the group without recognizing it
Michael_T, Sep 2024
The self guided tour with access to the historical information through the audio was the perfect way for us to enjoy the experience at our own pace. I would recommend this approach to anyone who wants to take their time and not feel compelled to keep up with a tour guide.

After looking for an hour never found our tour, called multiple times and finally spoke to a very rude uncompasioned person who flat out refused to assist us,lost our time, money and on top of that we're treated awfully by Aviator/City wonder grup!!
Thanks for nothing

We had a great time at the Colosseum. It is a lot of walking while inside with a ton of steps, there is a lift for people with special needs though. The meet up was exactly where the pin was sent to us on the invite and the personnel’s company was clearly marked on their shirts. The young lady that provided the tickets to us was very professional explained in detail where we needed to go and showed us how to use the app. We were also able to get our tickets early, however the gate personnel will not let you in early at all so be prepared to wait until the exact time of your ticket.

The Colosseum is huge and very beautiful. I can imagine how it looked in its full glory in ancient Rome.
Hannah_B, May 2023
It’s not escorted entrance, and you have to coordinate with a group of strangers to get in. Basically, there’s one ticket that’s good for however many people are in your group. You all have to stay together to get into the Colosseum, and then you have to pick up a meeting point and a time for you all to get back together so you can get into the Roman Forum together. No one escorts you in. We only bought these tickets because we could no longer buy tickets through the official website. If tickets are still available through the official website, definitely go that route.

Our guide was wonderful. The tickets included everything we wanted and we had plenty of time to look around.

Great way to get a fast entry and unique view of the coliseum. Plenty of time on the floor, and interesting to go through the back entrance
Fiona_B, Jan 2020
An entertaining, informative and interesting tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience despite generally finding guided tours a real chore. We had a particularly engaging guide who was particularly well read on the history of Rome and she also brought humour and colour to lighten the many pieces of factual information.

Came all from Australia for this and found only 1 hour at colosseum and less at forum. Nowhere near enough time.

Valentina the tour guide from City Wonders was excellent and very friendly. I would definitely recommend Skip the line tickets, it just makes the trip and experience more enjoyable.

This tour was for guided entry to the arena floor of the colosseum, so you skip the long entry line. The guide was great! We entered on the arena floor and were given 20 minutes to explore on our own and take pictures. Then the guide led us to the main floor of the colosseum and gave us an hour to tour the rest of the building on our own. We met up with our guide after an hour and she walked us to the Roman Forum, (entry was included with our ticket). She explained where things were and then left us to tour the Roman Forum at our leisure. This was a great way to get fast entry to the attractions, but sill be able to look around on our own.

Great value for money, an excellent trip and highly recommended. The tour guide was lovely and friendly and very knowledgeable.

Easy to locate the guide with their bright blue polo shirts at the meeting point. Sylvia was our guide and took us to the the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Not sure about prices with other tour companies but this was well worth it! Thanks City Wonders
Suzanne_R, Oct 2019
Well worth the extra to access the restricted arena floor as it enabled us to take photos away from the crowds, especially if you get there early in the morning.

One of the best tours we have done! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and fun and was able to provide pits of interesting information not just about the colosseum but Rome in general. Would totally recommend

We purchased a ticket only experience through Viator due to tickets being sold out through the colosseum website. The tickets were issued by Coty Wonders. I would definitely go through them again. Jocelyn was our “guide” for this non guided tour. We took the option of visiting the arena floor and it was amazing. Jocelyn was courteous and gave us some brief history while we waited to enter even without it being a guided tour which was nice. She also walked us over to the Roman Forum that was included in the ticket. Definitely recommend a morning visit, as it heated up quick in the sun!

Terrible, could not find the guide, crowds all over, missed the tour. Will be disputing the charge.

Great experience, remember to take lots of water. We went in summer and it was very hot. It was great to see the video of how the forum and Palentine hill and colosseum use to look in its former glory
caboymario, Jul 2019
Our tour entered the Area Floor with almost no wait. You are own your own which was fine with us. The meeting place was extremely easy to find.
Christina_L, Jul 2019
Our original reservation was for 1 PM, for 22 of us. THEY OVERBOOKED THAT TIME, HOWEVER, it was not canceled because they told us they wanted to accommodate us at 9 AM and understood that we would be arriving a couple of minutes late. We had no control over our cruise ship and the transportation to them. We arrived, all of us together 6 min late to THEIR 9 am rescheduled tour and stood at the meeting point only to be told that we were too late. We even told them that we did not need to be kept together as they can separate us into different tours if necessary and they were not accommodating despite being told during the 9 am rebooking that we may be a couple of minutes late, hence our original booking was for 1pm.
There is no reason why our initial reservation for 1 PM, that we knew we could accommodate should have been canceled because of their inability to schedule correctly and overbooking this tour! That is poor business practice on their behalf. They are now in receipt of over $1500 for services they did not deliver, and their offer was a credit with their company for 6 mos. As if people travel to Rome every 6 months.
Glenn_G, Jul 2019
I called and was told that even though this said "tour", I should purchase to get in and then my private tour guide would continue with me. This was untrue, I was forced to enter with the group (which meant waiting until their assigned time which required standing in the hot sun 2X), and could not meet my private guide until we completed part of the group tour. A coliseum employee actually had to unlock a gate so I could leave the group and join my guide. I feel like I paid for 2 guides. Would not recommend this company.
KAREM_S, Jun 2019
Very organized and professional. These people know their job and how to entertain travelers through the process without seeming overwhelming.
Blaze N, Jun 2019
Finding the group leader was easy once we knew to look for the correct company's sign. Being in the Colosseum was dandy. BUT ignore the statement that backpacks are not allowed. I spent 7 Euros to check my backpack at the train station, as well as valuable time waiting in line to check it and then to retrieve it. When we got to the Colosseum, I found that at least 10% of visitors had backpacks--including our GUIDE!!--and they had no problem entering with their backpacks. Also--note that this tour does NOT provide access to the underground areas. That requires a separate ticket.
Prashant_N, Apr 2019
We had fun ..the guide was particularly impressive and shared a lot of insights, with lot of humour thrown in.
Pilar_S, Apr 2019
Entering through the gates used by the gladiators starts an incredible ride. Our guide was very special and told us how the life of these great warriors was, and how the Colosseum was built and how it was used to celebrate great events.
