Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Arrive at the entrance of Colosseum 15 minutes before time. The entrance will be Invalid after 15 Minutes of travel time
You must follow the queue for security check although you have bought the priority access
If you book the last Colosseum entry slot of the day, you won’t have time to visit the Forum or Palatine afterwards — they will already be closed. That means you’ll need to visit the Forum and Palatine either before your Colosseum time slot, or the next day, as long as it’s within 24 hours of when you first entered one of the sites.
The visit may begin either at the first entrance of the Colosseum or at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

Great for going at your own pace

This was great for travelers who want to go at their own pace. The audio guides were not too lengthy or detailed - for us that was great, but I could see others maybe wanting more details from an actual guide. We did the sites knowing we kind of had to but overall ripped through all of them in 3 or so hours so this was perfect for that since our trip to Rome was only for the weekend.

The Colosseum Palentine Hill and forum were definitely worth seeing and we enjoyed our time there very much. The audio guide needs to be improved for ease of use. It would also be helpful for a map that included directions to entrances and exits to be included in the package. We spent a lot of time trying to find our way out of the venue.

Do not buy from this operator

Do not book with this operator. Due to an administration ticket error my husband was denied entry by security at the Colosseum when we arrived at our allocated time. His name was wrongly printed on the ticket he was sent by WhatsApp. As time was short we had to purchase another ticket from the ticket office. We were very surprised at the €18 cost of his ticket which allowed the same access to both the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. I paid £68.98 for 2 tickets from this operator for the same access. This is twice more expensive than if we had bought the tickets ourselves on the day. The only difference was that we had access to an audio guide, but this in my opinion is not worth double the price. I requested a refund but this has been declined. Save yourself money and either buy your ticket at the Colosseum ticket office or directly online.

This tour was a total scam. The listing said they typically send the ticket through Viator messenger or email, but that never happened. Instead, I had to go searching for their office, which turned out to be up a hill from the Colosseum. When I finally found it, the guy just went on the government website, bought the regular ticket for about half of what I paid, printed it, and then gave me access to some random app for the audio guide. The whole thing took 30+ minutes, which meant I missed with my family. To make it worse, the app didn’t even work when I was on the tour. When I went back to show him, it worked inconsistently and he refused to give me any kind of refund. I’d avoid this company completely. Save yourself the money and just buy the ticket directly from the official site.

Do as they advise except the offer to receive tickets on line before the day. Start to queue so you arrive 15min before your due time not a minute early otherwise you will be sent back. And when given the location to use to get onto the hill use it don’t follow the others, great advice worked like a dream

A day at the Colosseum

We were given a specific location to meet, but there was construction and you didn't know where to go so we ended up walking about 10 minutes to the other side of the Colosseum. Also, we were late and we're not in the 30 minute window, and they almost didn't let us in.

Not a skip the queue experience

In no way was it a Viator problem, but we happened to schedule our tickets at the same time as the annual Marathon. With thousands of runners, blocked streets, and larger-than-usual crowds, there was limited access to the Colosseum entrance. We had to wait for the runners to pass just to get to the line. Then to discover, because of the delay, our ticket time (a 30 minute window) had elapsed and we were directed to buy additional tickets. Also, I wish we would have opted for some guide, because there is so much to learn, and the crowds made it challenging to read all of the informative plaques.

Waste of Money, Tourist Scam

We got the tickets okay, but they do not allow you to skip any queues. They give you limited access to all sites. Also on the tickets it shows that they cost €18 each yet we were charged €39 each. Just buy tickets at the door or get a guide for better access. These tickets are a waste of time and money.

Booked tickets in advance for a specific time as we were having a fast visit. Got issued the wrong date and when they fixed the date it was for a later time. We ended up missing Palentine Hill and The Forum as we didn't have time after to make it due to their error. Unfortunate as we wanted to get all three in on the day we were here.

Poor instruction where to get tickets. If i didn’t call - i wouldn’t be able to get the tickets. I went to their office to pick up tickets but closed even past 9am which delayed our entrance - so much for getting a skip the line ticket when it delayed us anyways. I got the pdf of tickets 9:40am for a 9am entrance. No tour guide for an expensive price. Get tickets from Colosseum itself.

The Colosseum is a great place to visit. Only problem was queuing in the heat, very slow moving when you get inside due to all of the tours. Plus the toilets were dirty and smelly and not enough of them for the amount of people queuing. Otherwise it was great to see and alot of history.

Jammer dat jullie niet waarschuwen dat je naam op het toegangsticket overeen moet komen met dat op je ID. Ik gebruik de achternaam van mijn man en op je ID staat je meisjesnaam. Omdat ik daar niet aan gedacht had kon ik dus niet naar binnen bij het Colosseum en het Forum. Ook mijn man is toen niet gegaan: 78 euro weggegooid!
