Claudio organized a wonderful day trip from Rome to the Frascati region. After stopping for cappuccino, we toured local ruin with fabulous views of Rome and the surrounding area. Next Claudio took us to a family owned vineyard for wine tasting which was perfect. Last, we had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with one of the best meals of our trip. Claudio was a perfect tour guide for the day - knowledgeable, flexible and considerate of our needs and wants for the day. Thank you Claudio!

Interesting historic stop at Tusculum to see well preserved ruins that actually predate Rome. Then a wonderful family owned winery with an excellent tour of vineyards and the caves and a tasting. Finally a delicious lunch at at Claudio's favorite restaurant. We had delicious fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and a fantastic mixed grill. We also had three excellent local wines with the meal. Claudio was quite knowledgeable and his selection of places could not have been better.

Very prompt and welcoming on arrival. The car was clean and spacious. He was very knowledgeable of Rome and its surroundings and architecture. Our first location was an architectural adventure and the views were stunning. Our second destination the winery was welcoming and informative. Our person gave a tour of the winery and how the industry works in the region. Lunch was at a restaurant where are father is the chef and family ran. The food was delicious and made truly with love. We would book this on our next visit without blinking an eye!

Perfect day trip from Rome

Spending the day with Claudio was a highlight of our trip to Italy! We went on this tour in November of 2023- the weather was perfect for the itinerary for the day! He was very communicative, which made pick up and drop off seamless. We had an incredible experience seeing the archeological sites before heading to the vineyard. We got a special tour of the grounds of the vineyard and could eat the grapes off the vine during our walk with the owner. Claudio then took us to lunch at a quaint restaurant that had the feeling of a place where local families gather on the weekends to enjoy time together. The food and wine was amazing, and the service was incredible every where we went. Claudio really made the day extra special and it was such an easy time spending this time with him. He was so personable and easy going. Would highly recommend him on any tour, but especially this one if you want to get out of the city and spend the day in the country side drinking wine! Thank you, Claudio!

A unique wine tasting experience

A hidden gem- the picturesque Tuscolo Archaeological Park with the ruins of Emperor Tiberius’s palace overlooking an amazing landscape and then proceeding to Frascati for a marathon of wine tasting at one of the best wineries where a 15th century rock mine has been converted into wine cellars. A unique experience with an excellent guide, Claudio who took very good care of us.

Good tour but have questions.

Claudio gave us a nice tour with an archeological site, winery, and restaurant. Our only complaint is that we paid a great deal of money for the tour and have written confirmation of pickup point at the Rome port. But then we were told by Claudio we would be charged an extra large sum of money for the pick up point outside of Rome. We had to pay the extra in cash- seemed a bit odd to us and normal business practice. Viator did have our credit card but we were told we had to pay cash. We would appreciate an explanation.

Dear Susan, the pickup in Civitavecchia port requires extra price as you can see in the tour description since it's 300km extra + highway duties. Usually these transactions happen via credit card if you deal before about that with the supplier. You agreed via text message one week before about that without any questions about how to pay. In case the guest doesn't proceed via credit card directly with Viator at the moment of the booking confirmation, I kindly ask to proceed via paypal. You told me you didn't have an account paypal, so we agreed about cash.

Amazing Wine Experience

Claudio was the absolute best on this tour. He took us to some amazing ruins before the wine tour. The winery tour was fascinating and the wines super yummy. The best part was seeing and tasing wines down in the volcanic cave cellars. After the winery he chose a wonderful restaurant that took my husband's allergies into consideration and worked with us when we wanted to purchase additional glasses over and above what the tour offered. Best way to end a vacation. Thank you Claudio!!!!

Booked private, but had another person come along?

This was to be a private tour. Our host texted two days prior to ask if we could change the date for our tour. We could not, so he asked if someone else could join us. Since we couldn't be flexible with the date, we agreed. We didn't get a proper wine tasting at the first place. We joined a tour already in progress and had to circle back around once the other tour was done. Our tour operator brought us to a great place for lunch but ate with us? Which was fine, but a little weird. Car was small. I think there are better tours. This was a really nice area and we would have like to spend our time on a proper tour and wine tasting.

Dear J. I was on my way to cancel the whole tour due to an overbooking so I kindly ask you all 4 guests if it was fine to join the other couple and your answer was yes. Same for the restaurant, there were many available tables but when the owner of the restaurant and me asked if you wanted to seat on your own or join the other guests you decided to join. I think it's more important to be clear and sinceer since the beginning of the deal to let everybody enjoy everything of the experience, such a surprise reading your review after you told me that the tour was amazing and awesome while we said goodbye each other. I repeat, it was an unusual situation that I was on my way to cancel but I always asked you if that was fine and referred to your answer. All the best Claudio
