Tour was rescheduled from 11 am to 11:45 am, then the headset guy showed up late, delaying us further. We had booked a train to Naples based on the scheduled 11 am start time. With the delays, we had to go faster than the tour in order to see everything. So we essentially paid for a tour in order to get a ticket, which was disappointing. Art was amazing, thankfully.

The guide booked through Viator, Tours with Sylvia, did not show up and I could not enter the gallery.

Superb guide! Made the whole experience exceptional. Very knowledgeable of both art and history as they inter-relate.
JOSEPH_R, Jul 2026
Provided key access and certainty of tour. Guide was very educated in art history and very familiar with Borghese. Duration was very substantial, hitting all the apparent highlights.

Fantastic tour guide. We loved her stories about the pieces and the Borghese family. It really brought it to life. She was vey engaging. We did a lot of tours in Rome and this was memorable.

The most beautiful museum! Bernini’s sculptures are more beautiful than all the ones I’ve seen in Italy. Our guide gave great details to make it extra special
Matt_R, Jun 2026
Very detailed description of the art which was excellent. Not as much about the history or the villa which my family wanted.

I had really wanted to see the Borghese collection but had read about the nightmare of trying to get tickets. This tour was the best of both worlds/ we got tickets to the gallery and an amazing guide who was so informative about the art we were seeing. I highly recommend it.

The guide Virginia did an amazing job of articulating the personalities of the artists and patrons - not to mention the nature of the art itself.
RScott_D, Jun 2026
Wonderful paintings and sculptures throughout the museum. Virginia provided an incredibly informative tour. She is very passionate about the museum and its works…and it showed in her tour. Thank you, Ginnie. A definite winner!

HORRIBLE, AWFUL, TERRIBLE if I could leave minus stars I would. We were here 20 minutes early asked everyone if they were either Rome with Sylvia and the guide WITH OUR TICKETS NEVER SHOWED UP!!!!
Botakoz_J, Jun 2026
Very disappointing experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited at the exact meeting point as instructed, but Silvia never showed up. We called the activity provider multiple times using the number provided, and nobody answered.
As tourists with limited time in Rome, this wasted a valuable part of our day. No communication, no explanation, and no customer support. Would not recommend.

No stars! The tour guide and tickets never showed up! Tried to contact and for 30 min past time never responded at all! Spoke with all other tour guides at site and the museum itself and no one even knows this guide, Did not get to see gallery at all very disappointed. I contacted Viator for refund but still out 60€ for taxi fares and wasted half a day of vacation with only disappointment. Tried to purchase tickets at gallery myself but sold out. I hope Viator removes this company because it is a scam! I book through Viator to avoid scams and make travel easier in places where I don’t know how. Save yourself some trouble and book with a different company or you might not be able to go like us! Now I won’t be able to see the museum and am very disappointed!

I booked a tour for my wife and I. We were here on the scheduled date and time. No guide ever showed up. So I went to the ticket counter and asked if the tour group paid for any tickets today and he said they did not. How does this even happen? Really unacceptable.

The museum was fantastic the young woman Katya who helped me with my ticket could not have been better

Easy to make reservations on line.
Easy to find the guide at the Gallery.
The guide Dimitri was excellent.
This is the best way to enjoy the incredible art at the Borghese Gallery!
Patricia_M, Oct 2025
The tour guide had in-depth knowledge of art and the history of the museums. She was easy to understand and was engaging
Jessica_F, Sep 2025
The instructor had an obvious passion for art history and imparted her knowledge to us in an invigorating way.

We walked through the Borghese gardens before our tour of the Gallery. Highly recommend, it was beautiful, like the Central Park of Roma. Our tour guide inside Galleria Borghese was phenomenal, she had degrees - including a PhD - in archeologies and art histories, and an obvious love for the pieces in the gallery. She was very knowledgeable about the various artists and their histories, and pointed out the most exquisite details in the sculptures and paintings, even the former Palace itself. Highly recommend a visit if you have an afternoon in Rome.

We had a great time. My family loved learning about the art and sculpture in the gallery. Our tour guide Virginia was wonderful.

This was a great experience, especially with
Smaragda! She was amazing and knowledgeable and so engaging
Maria_A, Jun 2025
It was an engaging and interesting tour! Valentina was our tour guide. It was clear she’s very knowledgeable on the history and kept the whole group super engaged. I would definitely recommend the tour but also if you can- request her!
Andrea_N, Apr 2025
This tour was led by Gabriel (not Sylvia as was advertised) but Gabriel was a font of knowledge about art and art history. He’s got a passion for the art ww saw and he engaged the group with his knowledge. The Borghese Museum itself is a work of art; every surface: ceilings, walls and floors are beautiful. And it’s a reasonable size to get through in a few hours. It’s one visitors to Rome should not miss!

We could not attend the Villa Borghese tour because the guide from 'Rome with Silvia' did not show up, and has not been reachable by phone until today, with no response to email contact either.
That was very disappointing, as we could not book a replacement on Sunday - today, Monday, the Villa is closed - therefore, no recommendation!
