The tour guide was nice and very professional but the woman who was meant to help us find the train the train station was absolutely horrible. We walked up and were the second people with people with different train times and she ignored us and told us to wait even when I told her we were going to miss our train. The lady helped all the people who were of European descent first and even helped people who walked up after us before us which the woman she was helped pointed out to which she said “they can wait” the actual travel experience was fine and guide was nice but she ruined the experience for us. 3/5 was me being nice

Dear Amina,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the tour guide professional and that you enjoyed the overall travel experience.
We would like to clarify, however, that our team is proudly multicultural and we welcome guests from all over the world. We take any concerns about fairness very seriously, and we do not operate with any form of preference or discrimination.
At the train station, our staff manage multiple tour departures with different schedules, and guests are assisted based on departure times to ensure no one misses their train. What you experienced may have been a result of this process, rather than any intention to prioritize certain individuals over others.
We’re sorry that this situation led to a negative impression, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Your feedback is important to us, and we’re pleased that the rest of your tour went smoothly.

The weather was not so nice that day, the boat ride to Positano was cancelled and our return boat time from Amalfi had to be anticipated but our guide was flexible to change our return boat trip to a later bus trip so we could enjoy more time in Amalfi

The sea can be a little choppy but the views are great. Mauro was the BEST tour guide ever!!! Positano and Amalfi are both worth a visit. St Andrew the apostle is buried in the cathedral.

Marlo was a tremendous tour guide. He was fun and very knowledgeable about the areas we had been in. We would totally recommend this tour and h to friends

What let us down was out of the control or the organisers but I think occurs often. Firstly people were late. Obviously can’t read instructions. Then the train was 45 min late leaving. Unreliable. That meant we missed the ferry and our tour was shortened. When the ferry was 10 min from Positano the whole return ferry service was cancelled and we had to board the last return ferry to Amalfi and saw Positano for 15 minutes. All up we spent 3 hrs in Amalfi and hour in total in other towns and the rest of the 13hrs was on trains and ferries. I wouldn’t waste my money on this trip. It was very overpriced for what it is. The guides were lovely therefore the 4 stars and Amalfi was lovely too. I was so excited about this trip but it let us down badly.

The tour was great, but unfortunately the weather was terrible. It rained the entire time and the water was very rough on the ferry ride. Our tour guide did an excellent job despite the bad weather, however. He was very entretaining, and did a fantastic job of making the most of our day. If you can do this for during sunny weather, it's an absolute must-do.

Our guide, Marco was we must run to catch the ferry. I was last because of me not wearing tennis shoes, Dummy on my part.
Our guide made sure everyone knew the history of our journey.
He made sure we had everyone to board.
Our train was cancelled. Our guide solved the problem all alone. We waited 2 hours. The office staff was not available for him. That is awful they leave a guide with 15 people stranded because it doesn't fit their hours of operations. Really disappointed in the company but our guide did all the work on his cell phone and he paid out of his pocket for our newest fare.

Ciao Ann,
Thank you for taking your time to share your experience with us and our community, we are happy to hear that our tour guide was such an amazing support for you.
On the other hand, we would like to clarify that our backoffice team is active from th beginning of each tour until the very end as we understand perfectly that both guides and customers might need assistance and any inconvenience might happen. This case was not different from the others, as our team was evaluating if the best solution would either booking a bus to Rome or moving you to a later train - kindly note that these situations can take some time as they can be extremely confusing. Evenually, the train company rebooked you for free on another train, so we assure you that the guide did not have to pay anything out of his pocket.
We hope that the rets of your trip to Italy was indeed a lovely one
Warm regards

Great day in-spite of the weather! Beautiful to see the coast line and visit the towns. More stores than sights to see

The tour is okay nothing great .We took the train package to Amalfi positano day trip . Except for the ease of boarding and departure there is nothing major that we could have not done on our own . The drawback in group is that if anyone goes late we have to wait for them and that could mean missing the ferry . We only got 45 mins in positano and 3 hours in Amalfi as we missed the ferry coz the group was slow Don’t fall for the free lemonchello tasting . It’s a place they take you to shop so that the guide could get his cut . Again waste of time in group activity while so much is left to explore . Even the restaurant we went too was suggested by the guide so that everyone could stick together and they charged us a hefty cover charge plus they had to accommodate a group of 16 as a result food was hushed and we didn’t get one of our dish on time . He wanted us to stick together to get free cookies and chocolates tasting ( it’s a trap ) believe me Ditch the guide and explore on ur own. The restaurant had a cut for the guide too . Better view places were available for lunch right on beach And it would have costed cheaper too Ferry costs 55 euros return and train to Salerno if you book early you can get a better rate . Everything is doable on your own plus you can’t get held up coz of the group . The whole point was to maximise the day which I feel could have happened without the package once we can do the booking on our own and explore the place on our own speed Keep a watch on ferry timings as they are on time if you are buying tickets from Salerno. Station to port is 10 mins walk . Once you are on your own you can follow the locals and do what everyone is doing .

Dear Subhi,
Thank you for your feedback. As you booked a group tour, our guides do their best to accommodate everyone so all participants can enjoy the experience. We wish we had been contacted in advance, as we could have arranged a private experience for you.
The tour leader suggests local restaurants, but no one is required to follow these tips—you were free to dine elsewhere. We will also relay your concerns to the guide.
This tour is designed to avoid long hours in traffic and efficiently combine arrivals with the ferry, which may feel different from other tours. Following locals can help if you are familiar with the area, but it can be challenging for first-time visitors.
We appreciate your feedback and hope the rest of your trip was enjoyable.

Tour was fantastic! This area is beautiful and I appreciate having a guide to give us some information and to answer questions but then also to allow us to explore on our own. Georgia was an amazing guide and was instrumental in helping get luggage returned that was lost on our flight. She went above and beyond to help.
teresa_k, Sep 2025
Our guides were fantastic, one local and was able to direct us with recommendations once at the destination. Stay on Positano was too brief however, not enough time to do much before it was time to meet and depart.
Matthew_R, Sep 2025
Tour was very well planned and run. Meeting at Rome train station was easy and organized and they provided us our tickets. Meeting tour leader in Salerno was equally easy & efficient. Tour guide was informative, personable, and fun to be with. Sites were beautiful and lots of information our different sites in historical and geographic context. Would have liked more time in Positano, but ferry was late (outside control of tour group). Will recommend to friends.

We went in early September, met up with a guide at Rome's train station who took us to the platform for our train, and guided us to the train carriage - and when we arrived at Salerno, another guide met us. He walked us to the ferry, recommended we sat on the upper level for the best views, and during the ride he pointed out various sights to see, and their history. The ferry stopped at Amalfi but we didn't get off then - we continued to Positano, where we had an hour to explore and see some sights. We boarded the ferry again and rode back to Amalfi, where again our guide left us to explore on our own, after recommending some not-to-be-missed spots. We had more time for lunch, an unforgettable Sorbetto al Limone, and capturing memories.
After the ferry back, he walked us back to the train station, and sat with us until we boarded the high speed train back to Rome. Again, he helped us find the correct carriage.
It was a perfect day's trip - although in hindsight, it would've been nice to have a little longer in each town (I heard you can rent a boat to take you to the grottos near Amalfi and Positano), and to have some extra time in Salerno.
Jeffrey_G, Sep 2025
We met at the Termini Train Station at 8:30am to catch the 9am train to Serrano to catch a Ferry to view the Amalfi Coast by water which is beautiful.
Victor_A, Sep 2025
Had a great day, Amalfi was beautiful and our guide showed us couple good places for lunch, would recommend this. The train was fast and smooth as well.
Susan_D, Sep 2025
Leaving a review based on our guide who was amazing!! The Amalfi coast was BUSY and TOURISTY… more so than I had imagined in September, but our guide made sure we had seats at a restaurant, made our ferry and train connection on time, helped us navigate the crowds and introduced us to the shops with Limoncello! If you want to see the Amalfi coast and Positano- without added stress, take this tour!!
Julie_L, Sep 2025
Booking this tour took the stress out of traveling to the Amalfi Coast. Our tour guide Mauro was excellent. He made sure we got to the train and ferry on time so we didn’t have to worry, provided interesting facts about the Amalfi Coast, and recommended places to go in Amalfi. It was crowded in Positano and Amalfi, but we still had a wonderful time.
Sally_T, Sep 2025
Amalfi Coast is Beautiful and so worth the trip. Our tour guide Maiou (please forgive me for the wrong spelling) is so passionate for his hometown and he gave us the passion for the love of his country. We swam at the beach, so lovely with the beautiful sun. The Lemon Sorbet was delicious, everyone should try!!
The only issue and it’s a big one was the price. I paid for 3 tickets at $290 per person and my friend purchased 2 tickets for the exact same tour on the exact same date and paid $215 per person. I’m hoping Viator will do the right thing and refund me $225
The price difference is so unfair.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Sally,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Amalfi Coast, had a wonderful time at the beach, and loved the lemon sorbet! We’re also thrilled that Mauro (thank you for trying!) shared his passion for his hometown and made your tour memorable.
Regarding the price difference, please understand that we do not control the pricing on Viator or any special promotions they may apply to different bookings. We feel it’s a little unfair to lower the rating to 2 stars over this, as the tour itself remains the same five-star experience for all guests.
We hope this clarifies your concerns and wish you all the best in your future travels.

Outstanding views along the coast. Ferry transfers great, clean, and on time. A must if weather is blue sky, like ours was.
Gregory_F, Sep 2025
A great day trip from Rome. We lucked out with weather and we had a great guide that got us from the high speed train to the boat in Solerno with a great view of the Amalfi coast from Positano and Amalfi towns and back on the high speed train without a hitch. It’s A long day but well worth doing.
Carrie_B, Sep 2025
Mauro was an excellent guide making sure we knew some hidden places to eat, where the best lemon sorbet was, and ensuring we were all accounted for and arrived back at train station safely. Thank you Mauro for a wonderful time!
Edward_B, Sep 2025
More history and facts about Amalfi and Positano than I expected thanks to our tour guide Miguel. Over the top great tour guide. Five ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for him! 🏆🏆
Helen_A, Sep 2025
The guide was very helpful and organisation was smooth and professional. Coordination from arrival to end was well organised.
Antoinette_R, Aug 2025
Taking this day trip was a great decision for us due to the fact that we had limited time in Italy, but really wanted to experience the Amalfi Coast. We didn’t want to spend most of the day on a bus or in a van, so the high speed train was the perfect option. There was a lot of communication from the tour company with regard to the meeting place and time which was a tremendous help and made our planning easy. A guide met us at the train station in Rome to ensure we boarded the correct train to Salerno, which took approximately 1.5 hours. When we arrived in Salerno we met our second guide, Mauro. He explained that because our train ran late (10-15 min ) we missed our scheduled ferry so would have a little less time in Positano. He also said that if we decided as a group to stay in Positano longer and less time in Amalfi, that would be fine. Mauro made sure we all got on the next ferry and I have to say, this man was hustling to make sure we were all having the best possible experience. He was fantastic. He was running all over the ferry making sure everyone in the group had seats on the top deck to have the best views and he was constantly moving around to talk to everyone and give information about what we were looking at and the history of each little town we passed. We ultimately decided to spend 45 minutes in Positano, which was fine since the town is so small and so crowded. He offered euros to people who needed to use the restroom and he tended to individuals in the group who needed a little extra care walking or finding their way. We boarded the ferry for our next stop which was Amalfi. We had 3 hours of free time to explore the town. Mauro showed us a great restaurant for lunch, he took us to a beautiful little shop for limoncello and chocolate tastings and ran all over the town finding people in the group and guiding them to different locations for shopping or the beach. My husband and I really loved visiting both Positano and Amalfi, but agreed 1 day with those crowds was enough. We took the ferry back to Salerno, Mauro escorted us back to our train and we were back in Rome in an hour and a half. It was a perfect day.
Brian_W, Aug 2025
This was a great quick way to see the Amalfi coast. Mauro was an excellent guide, very helpful and friendly. The day in August was very hot and the area gets quite congested with tourists. The boats are also fairly hot and congested. But this was still a great trip and lots of great pictures and memories. 5 star for Mauro for sure, 4 star for the heat and crowds.
Julia_P, Aug 2025
Although very hot and a slight train delay, the day’s schedule went smoothly. Plenty of time in the two cities. Amazing coastal views from the ferry rides. Would definitely schedule another tour with Italia Tours. Organized and a wonderful, friendly guide.
Floyd_P, Jul 2025
Our guide, Mauro, is very attentive to all of his customers, thank you! The Amari Coast tour was so beautiful and made easy by Mauro. He’s informative and explained well to answer all our questions and curiosities. Our return high speed train to Rome was delayed almost an hour, but he stayed with us the entire time to make sure we got on the train!!! Thank you Mauro!!
Kristy_M, Jul 2025
Mauro was an excellent guide for the day! Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the coast. We were only in Positano for about an hour and then almost 3 hours in Amalfi. It was a bit too long in Amalfi, wished we had more time in Positano but understand its timing with the ferries.
Athena_P, Jul 2025
Great guides. Loved the option of the fast train. You meet the guides at the train station, another meets you at the destination. They both guide, give you background of the areas to visit, food recommendations too!
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! We're pleased to read that you had a good time during your day trip to the Amalfi Coast.
Best wishes,
The ItaliaTours Team
David_H, Jul 2025
The tour was really amazing. Beautiful coast. The traveling was a lot but worth it. The tour guide was very engaging and friendly. My only issues were that it is extremely crowded this time a year (July) and the place that the tour guide recommended for lunch was disappointing. The service was pretty awful and the food was soggy. I would choose a different place. Other than that, we enjoyed it!
