It was well planned out and we got to see so much of each place. Guide was amazing. Knew what he was doing. Emmiliano was fabulous!!
Unfortunately the train delayed us by and hour and a half so our tour was only the Amalfi Cost and did not include Positano. Understandable however no offer of any portion. The check in person in Rome was very RUDE, directions to meeting area vague and confusing for those never been to remini station. Our guide once in Salerno was awesome he made the best of our unexpected delay! Overall for myself I would have preferred to spend the last day of my trip in Rome, as I think the best way to experience the Amalphi Coast and Positano ( even though I did to as booked) would be to book a stay for a few days. Bit unorganized train tickets sent in emails allegedly never received. Was corrected at initial meeting by the extremely rude lady!!!
Wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. The first stop was way too brief and we were given little directions. Amalfi was better.
Realize you only have 45 minutes in Positano which is not enough time to get a drink much less shop, then 3.5 in Amalfi which is too long. The guide was very hard to understand and did not provide much information about the coast. He did spend a lot of time talking to the crew on the boat though. It was nice to have a guide to direct you on to the correct train and boat. I realize the transportation charges were a big part of the cost but if you were adventurous you could do it yourself. Very disappointed.
Pack light (definitely recommend handheld fan), wear your walking shoes!!! Get to the train station at least 30 min before your scheduled time, we were 15 minutes early and had to sprint to the train LOL
Mauro was the best tour guide and shared a lot of inspo and showed us the best spots to eat and shop! I would do this excursion all over again :)
Though it was one of the HOTTEST DAYS OF SUMMER, the staff (both Virginia and ESPECIALLY Muaro!) did an excellent job of gathering, directing, and instructing the group throughout the day. Italia Tours did an excellent job!
It's a long day! But if you're short on time, seeing this part of Italy was worth it! A beautiful Scenic day, on the water, wonderful shopping and great food!! The train ride down was relaxing and slept on the way back.
It is an easy way to get to the Amalfi coast from Rome. The high speed rail experience and ferries worked out well.
This is an amazing tour, a long day but worth every minute, the high speed train ride from Rome to Salerno was very interesting and our guide Emiliano made sure accessing our seats ran smoothly. We met with another guide in Salerno and the group was split between the two. Our new guide Mauro was great value and made sure we got on the ferry from Salerno to Positano and then to Amalfi and back to Salerno safely. After we boarded the fast train back Emiliano made sure everyone was ok and stayed with us until we had all exited the train in Rome and were on our way to our accommodation.
Mauro ensured we saw all of the best sights during the day; took us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch and then to a limoncello, olive oil and chocolate tasting. What is not to love!
We would highly recommend this tour and company to anyone wishing to enjoy a great day with beautiful views of the Amalfi coast and great tour guides. If you get Mauro or Emiliano you will be assured of a lot of fun.
The difference with this tour are the people. Sofia who we met at Rome Termini had one of the best and caring demeanors. She kicked our day off wonderfully with her wonderful attitude and friendliness. Then we met Mauro in Salerno. He was such a fun guide and really made the difference in how we enjoyed the trip. He gave us a wealth of information about Positano and Amalfi Coast. He made sure all guests were secured and he knew where they were (which is awesome). My favorite was Amalfi Coast for its very laid back vibe and lemon sorbets. The kindness also of the locals and the way they wanted you to sample everything felt warm and welcoming. The ferry you take from Salerno to the coast - it seems they oversell so twice we had to wait for another ferry because of this and lack of a good and orderly system (this is not Viator fault so want to be clear on this matter). The next is that you do not catch a luxury train. It is a regular train from Termini. I am grateful I did this tour for the first time in Rome. It is well worth it if you know nothing and don’t want to venture on your own. However I would venture on my own the next time for a far less cost and spend more time in Amalfi. The train system was easy to navigate and the ferry was easy to locate when in Salerno. The people with the company make the difference for this tour.
bring a backpack, water bottle, sunscreen and pack as light as possible 😂 it has to be one of the loveliest places in the world. I had fun even in the extreme heat. I put my feet in the water in Positano and I had shoes made to my feet in less than 15 mins - gorgeous sandals by Giovanni. Also, I really appreciate our tour guide Mauro who kept track of us to a T🙏😉. I needed a tether for getting off the train at the proper spot🥺. My memory is awful 😢
Such a great day trip to the Amalfi Coast! The tour was led by Italia Tours. We took the high speed train from Rome to Salerno which was fun since we have never been on a train before. It started off a bit stressful as we never received our train tickets. When we got to the station, one of our tour guides (Sylvia I think was her name but I’m bad with remembering names) immediately sprang into action and had them sent to us. Not sure what happened but there were a few others that had the same problem. She was able to get it all worked out. She was so helpful and such a great person. She truly cares about people and wants everyone to enjoy their time. We caught the ferry and took it to Positano. Along the way, our main tour guide (Mulalo- I sure hope I spelled that right) pointed out some of the important places and gave us information on each one as we passed by. So fun meeting/talking to him. Positano was small but fun to walk through even though it’s very crowded this time of year. Then we took the ferry ride to Amalfi which is very nice! Had lunch and did some shopping. The food was very tasty. We found the tour guides many times while walking around and even spent some time with them. So much fun getting to know them!! We felt very comfortable walking around there too! Such a fun day. May have to go back sometime.
Great day with Mauro as a host. We were left to our own devices once we got to the stops but Mauro was around and available for questions and help if we needed it.
Train got held up so we lost about an hour but that is not on the tour operator. I would say that we need more time but happy for the experience I did have.
I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

The Amalfi Coast is beautiful and Mauro took excellent care of us! We would have loved a bit more time in Positano, though. That stop was only 45 minutes and felt too rushed. We also weren’t expecting to be taken to one specific restaurant for lunch (cost not included). It ended up being great food; we just weren’t expecting that. Our favorite parts were the ferry rides. The views were stunning, and that’s definitely the way to experience the Amalfi coast rather than fighting traffic!
We have been to Italy many times but have never made it out to the Amalfi Coast. We opted to do this tour rather than rent a car, drive and potentially stay in one of the Amalfi Coast hotels (since we went in the peak of tourist season, we heard many stories about the traffic congestion and parking challenges). We are so glad we opted this way. Our experience was very chaotic because of the many tourists. Also, we prefer not to spend time in tourist traps, we much prefer experiencing travel more like a local. Salerno, Positano and Amalfi are all extremely touristy, very chaotic during the peak time we went at the end of June, and frankly overpriced, because they are tourist destinations. But are we glad we took a day trip to the Amalfi Coast? Absolutely! It was still amazing to see the region we had long heard and wondered about. The towns are scenic, and the ocean blue and beautiful. Just be prepared for the chaos. It also is hot and humid, which is not obvious from pictures (turns out we were there during a heat wave, so almost unbearable). Bottom line, be mentally prepared, stay hydrated, watch for pickpockets, and you will have a fun memorable adventure.
Lastly, shout out to Mauro, he is an awesome tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, shares lots of interesting and useful information, and is well connected with the locals. Make sure to ask for a few recommendations, he always seemed to have some regardless of what one might want to do while there. Thank you Mauro for a memorable and safe experience!
This is an all day excursion from Rome to Salerno (by train) then a ferry to Positano and Amalfi then back to Rome by train. It was outstanding. Our guides, Mauro and Fab, were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We unfortunately had to cut Positano from the itinerary due to a ferry delay but that ended up adding more time in Amalfi which was perfect! We were able to enjoy a great lunch, swim at the public beach (bring swim gear and a towel!), shop, and have the popular limoncello sorbet served in a lemon. I highly recommend this day trip from Rome! Thank you Mauro and Fab!!
Very well-organized day trip. Enjoyed shopping in Positano and lunch, shopping, and the beach in Amalfi! Mauro was a wonderful and attentive tour guide.
The coast was a little disappointing but still pleasant. We have traveled most of the world with many tours. The Guide we had on this tour was the best we have ever had.
A great way to explore much of the Amalfi Coast in a day trip. Our guide was extremely friendly, patient and knowledgeable while explaining the history and current attractions of the coast. We visited Salerno, Positano and Amalfi while spotting many small towns from the ferry as well. Highly worth it for your Amalfi Coast trip!
Mauro was an absolutely fantastic guide. We loved seeing Positano and Amalfi. Did this on our last day out of Rome and would highly recommend! Beautiful sights and it was so nice being on the ferry seeing the coastline!

We met a group of 10-12 people at the Termini. A brief train two stops to Solerno, we then ferried to Amalfi. The ride overlooking the coast was exceptional. The tour guides Michael and Suzanne were very receptive and answered any questions we had. We felt well taken care of the entire time. We took many photos from the beach, public square, but especially the highway overlooking the picturesque cliff city. It matches everything we saw in photos. Our little 6 year old got off to a bad start, but the tour guides were very personable, and he and we enjoyed the entire day.
It was a long day, but overall worth it. Our guide for the day was great and was very informative.we did expect the frecarossa train ,but was booked on the frecargento instead,which is a slower train, which made the day longer than advertised,or that is what we thought.
Absolutely beautiful scenery along the Amalfi coast. Italio Tours provided great service from start to finish. Our guide Mauro met us as we got off the train in Salerno and was so helpful and friendly every step of the way. He recommended a fabulous place for us to enjoy lunch in Amalfi. He was an absolutely amazing tour guide!
This is a great trip. The ferry is an amazing way to see the coast. The guide had a lot of great info and history about what we were seeing.
The tour gave great instructions. The guide was amazing… it was a long day… i would say better explanation of what you can do in the amalfi coast for 3.5 hours… it was actually too long. the boat ride was really enjoyable.
Great day trip option when visiting Rome. Our guide was great and it was an easy adventure. Would love to have had a little more time in positano but all around it was a great experience for our whole family!
The tour guide was nice and very professional but the woman who was meant to help us find the train the train station was absolutely horrible. We walked up and were the second people with people with different train times and she ignored us and told us to wait even when I told her we were going to miss our train. The lady helped all the people who were of European descent first and even helped people who walked up after us before us which the woman she was helped pointed out to which she said “they can wait” the actual travel experience was fine and guide was nice but she ruined the experience for us. 3/5 was me being nice

The weather was not so nice that day, the boat ride to Positano was cancelled and our return boat time from Amalfi had to be anticipated but our guide was flexible to change our return boat trip to a later bus trip so we could enjoy more time in Amalfi
