My guide Hollis was an absolute delight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to be able to gauge my energy level and adjust the hike accordingly. I enjoyed this immensely and it was worth every penny.

Our half-day Joshua Tree hiking trip with Travis at Wondering Mojave was absolutely exceptional. Travis was such a fantastic guide. He is a person who lives and breathes Mojave/Joshua Tree. It totally blew my mind how knowledgeable he was about everything....climate, plant life, animals, history, geology, etc. He was fascinating. The passion he has for this part of the US stands out all through the tour. Our tour was leisurely and not intense, based on our preference. Travis will tailor your tour to whatever you want to do and see, and at what kind of intensity level. Highly recommend Wandering Mojave with Travis.

She took us off the beaten path to see some amazing sites. We even got to experience snow in the Park. We met our guide early to arrive at the trailhead before sunrise. That was our preference. We hiked for several hours, stopping often to look at plants and discuss geology. Our guide, Hollis, was very knowledgeable and knew how to explain complex topics clearly. It was good to take the tour early in our stay at Joshua Tree because we recognized various plants and rock formations when we later hiked on our own. Hollis gave us very useful information about trails we might like.

Our guide, Hollis was awesome. Great communication beforehand and excellent knowledge of all floral, fauna and geology in the park. We were challenged with a blustery cold day, so she kept us in protected areas for our hike. Enjoyed it !!

Great experience highly recommend! Went solo and felt extremely comfortable. Hollis was knowledgeable and I learned a lot about the Joshua tree history and plants. This was my favorite part of my trip. She also gave me tips about where to go in the town and other hikes I can do by myself.

We had a fantastic half day in Joshua Tree with Sarah. We are a family of 4, Sarah called a couple of days before to ask about what we wanted to see and fitness levels and planned the day around that. We scrambled over rocks and hiked off the beaten track and it was fantastic. Sarah shared so much information about the desert, which was super interesting and kept both the adults and a 10 and 11 year old engaged for 4.5 hours. We had a great morning and highly recommend this experience.

We had a wonderful morning with Hollis. She is a walking encyclopedia on botany, ecology, native culture. Very easy to talk to, we felt comfortable asking tons of questions. She took good care to warn us of cactus or other danger, taught us safe scrambling techniques, and took us on a hike we would never feel comfortable navigating on our own. I have already recommended to my friend.

Heather was the most outstanding guide for our JTNP trip. She knows so much about the history, the stories, the flora and fauna. The trip met and surpassed all expectations. And she is FUN! She has a great sense of humor and is wickedly funny. JTNP is not for the inexperienced (which we are) and this was the best way to visit the park.

My husband and I had a wonderful half day walking with our guide Hollis learning about the Mojave desert near Joshua Tree National Park. Hollis was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals that inhabit this beautiful park and also about conservation of this protected area. She also provided us with information about Joshua Tree and places we could visit in the town and also in Tucson area which we were visiting next.
Hollis made our first trip into the Desert 🌵 areas of California and Arizona very interesting and left us wanting to do more of these activities next time we visit the USA.
