We booked the open air Hummer tour of Joshua Tree National Park totally last minute before our trip to Palm Springs and we are so happy we did! Our tour guide, Tom, was absolutely brilliant! His enthusiasm for his job and his passion and love for Joshua Tree was truly palpable! Tom is so knowledgeable about the vegetation indigenous to the area, the topography, the history, the weather patterns, and the wildlife of this magical place! Riding in the open air Hummer was the best way to experience Joshua Tree! It provides 360 degree views of the magnificent landscape all around you with the beautiful desert breeze keeping you cool. We finished off the day with Tom’s amazing playlist as we exited the park! The tour can only be described as one of the best days ever and one that won’t soon be forgotten. Highly recommend the open air Hummer tour of Joshua Tree National Park! You won’t regret it! If you’re lucky enough to have Tom as your guide, then your day at Joshua Tree will be pretty close to perfect!

If you've ever wondered "Why is a desert considered worthy of being a national park?" -- this Hummer Tour is for you! Our guide Tom was super friendly and knowledgeable. We went in the middle of July--yes, the middle of July and had the park to ourselves. The weather was exceptional. Yes, it was hot, but we're from Atlanta and Georgia summers are way worse than dry 99 degrees. Tom provided great stories, music, water, and a snack-- the scenery provided the rest. Don't hesitate to go. The money is well worth it.

The Joshua Tree National Park van tour was great from start to finish. Eddie our driver and tour guide was fantastic. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at great photo spots throughout the park. There were several kids on our tour and Eddie interacted well with them and made the tour interesting to them.

One of the best tours I have never been on. Austin was awesome, he had great communication, was on time, had amazing recommendations, and was extremely
knowledgeable! He was also super friendly and a great driver! Joshua tree was beautiful and we got lucky with the weather, making it a perfect day out in the desert. The hummer was so comfy and a blast to be in. Book this immediately!

What a beautiful place to spend the morning! The park is amazing and truly a testament of God's creation. Our tour guide, Tom, was the best. This was a great tour and adventure. Austin made the rides to and from, as well as the tour itself, informative, engaging and enjoyable. It was nice to stop at the visitor center as well. The stops on the tour were amazing, and Austin was a wealth of information.

There were 9 of us in the open air Hummer and, given the time it takes to get inside the park, the actual tour was a bit over 2 hours. So I felt the cost was high. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and pleasant. When I question him regarding the southern end of the San Andreas Fault, however, his answer wasn’t accurate (as I looked it up later). The tour also felt rushed at times. The sights were lovely and more time for pictures, questions, etc. would have increased the value. Overall, I am glad I went but don’t know that I would recommend this tour.

Joshua Tree’s distances and travel times can sometimes surprise guests, especially on busier days, and your note about allowing more time for photos, questions, and stops is valuable feedback that we take seriously as we continue refining the experience.
Regarding the San Andreas Fault discussion, we always strive to provide accurate geological information, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Our guides are trained by the parks on desert Institute as well as our own PhD level geologist regarding the history of the park so we believe our guides have accurate information to share.
Our Tour Guide, Denise was great and very knowledgeable. She shared her insights on the plants and the history of Joshua Tree. I would highly recommend the tour.

There is some hiking mostly on flat trails. Drivers are very knowledgeable about the geology. The tour takes place in the High Desert elevation about 4800’. It was cool in May and they put us in vans instead hummers. Kind of bummer but glad we weren’t freezing! It was very windy. Great experience and would love to explore some more!

You’re absolutely right—conditions at around 4,800 ft can change quickly, and on especially windy or colder days we’ll occasionally switch to a covered vehicle to keep everyone comfortable. The weather is typically great so this is a rare occurrence.
We know the open-air Hummer is a big part of the adventure, so we always try to balance that with safety and overall enjoyment.
We really appreciate your flexibility and are glad you still had a great time. We’d love to have you back on a calmer day so you can enjoy the full open-air Hummer experience next time!
Watch your emails frequently. Our Hummer ride was changed to a van ride due to cool weather. I loved our guide Eddie who was very knowledgeable about so many things. I thought our stops were too brief. But yes I definitely recommend this tour

We understand the Hummer experience is a big part of the adventure. In cases of high winds and colder temperatures, we occasionally switch to a covered vehicle to keep guests comfortable and safe.
We did send an update in advance, and we always offer a full refund for guests who prefer to reschedule or not switch vehicles.
We also appreciate your note about the stops—we’re always working to find the right balance between seeing more locations and allowing enough time at each one.

Great Joshua Tree tour! Hummer fun and several hiking stop spots for experiencing the terrain. Our 8 & 10 year old loved it. Flowering plants, coyote and snake sighting. Great guide, Denise.

Tom was a great guide. He adapted to our group and switched up one of the spots so my teenage kids could try the hall of horrors! It was perfect for all of us! And the music was perfection.

Tour guide was amazing ( Bob ). He had some secret spots we can venture into and he explained everything along the way. Im happy that we booked with them instead of going at solo. Oh and the hummer ride was super fun.

Joshua trees are fascinating and rock formations are beautiful! Also loved the amazing view of the entire Coachella Valley. Bob was fun, knowledgeable and great for our grandkids.

Booked this for my bachelor party and it was a fantastic experience all around.
To start — I accidentally booked the wrong date, and the company handled it seamlessly. They found a new driver, locked in a different date, and made it all work without any hassle. That kind of customer service really stood out and I'm grateful for it.
Our group was nine guys, all around six feet tall, so I was a little worried about space. No issues at all — everyone fit comfortably in the Hummer. Our tour guide was great, kept the energy up the whole time with entertaining stories, solid jokes, and interesting facts about Joshua Tree and the surrounding area that none of us had heard before. We hit all the key spots in the park and everyone came away feeling like they got the full experience. The music was on point and the Hummer ride itself was a blast.
