This experience requires 2 apps. You must download load both before you can begin. The directions for accessing the tour app is not clear and was difficult to navigate. The directions are very difficult to understand. Once set up, the Action Tour Guide was amazing!

It took our family about an hour and a half to view the main route. There are alternate routes, should you wish to explore more. The narrated tour is clear, fun to hear, and pretty simple to initiate. Just don’t forget to download the tour before driving to the “meet” location.

This tour was a lot of fun and a great way to beat the Palm Springs heat while being entertained. The celebrity stories were interesting and I loved driving around the neighborhoods the tour led me around because there is so much fantastic architecture. I did experience some tech glitches but things went smoothly once I was in the groove…

Terrible and unreliable GPS navigation. This is the WORST driving excursion I have experienced. You should either upgrade your GPS navigation or delete this tour.

Make sure everyone in your party is prepared well before the trip. Not doing so can mean details like Carplay and the dashboard map don't get proper setup.

Easy to follow along! Our host had a very clear, personable speaking voice. Very specific instructions allowed for us to really enjoy!
Only downside was audio abruptly stopped mid way thru Bette Davis stop (think #34) and we couldn’t get it fired back up. Maybe tour was supposed to end. It was over for us for sure?

The Bette Davis stop is actually Stop #39, and the tour contains 78 stories in total, so the tour definitely was not supposed to end there. I don’t ever do reviews, but I wanted to review this one. Everyone remarked that this was the best and the easiest. This is my second driving self guided tour. The app was easy enough to work with however, once the tour started, it could never quite get me to the starting point of the tour so I had to get out of it to go to Apple Maps to get back into where the exact directs were to the tour start. I like the stories, but the app kept telling me that I could just travel at my own pace to my own areas and it would automatically pick up the sites around me. True to a point. However, they always lagged which left me confused as to whether they were marking me properly on their map. Yes, they did seem to mark my car properly, but the guide couldn’t catch up to where we were. Twice they tried to send me the wrong way down a one-way street. And when I became creative and moved to another street, it seemed to have trouble understanding why I was there. We listened for a few of the sites, and then abandoned it all together maybe somebody who’s a little more Tech Savey could do this , I could never get to the navigation system onto my computer panel of my car so I constantly had to use the phone and as a driver I found it distracting. I don’t think I’ll do any more self-guided tours. Next time I’ll go with the tour guide.

Since this is a GPS tour, it works best when launched from the official start and following the route. Changes or GPS delays can cause lag or confusion. I’m concerned about the one-way street issue and would like to know the streets involved to investigate further. Currently, only audio plays through Apple CarPlay, and full navigation is pending Apple approval, so many use Bluetooth or AUX. I appreciate your feedback and am sorry it didn't meet expectations. Really fun tour. It’s very extensive and takes you to all the sights. The app was very easy to use and the narrator’s voice was very soothing. We have been to Palm Springs many times but never knew the history or so many celebrities had homes here. Would absolutely recommend.

Had us drive out to a starting point, we didn’t need to go to, so we back tracked into downtown. Houses are obstructed by walls and shrubs. The Palm Canyon was interesting, but didn’t do the hike because of rattlesnakes.

This was a great tour. The mapping was spot on and the stories were great. It also helped that each stop had a corresponding picture so you know what to look for. It was inexpensive and I was able to spend as much time at each stop that I wanted without having to deal with a large guided tour.

This app is definitely priced right compared to the guided tours available in Palm Springs. It does take a bit of doing some sometimes to figure out what house the app is talking about. I would recommend doing this tour on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. On weekends, there are often multiple cars and the streets can be narrow, making it difficult to see.

It’s a casual guided tour you can take at your own pace that shows where the stars lived. The last stop is Frank Sinatra’s grave site. We did not go on to visit the Coachella Valley preserve area as it is closed during the week.

It was a good tour and we got to see a lot of movie star homes; however, where we started from it led us to Frank Sinatra's house then onto his gravesite which was out of the way of the other stars' homes, so we drove back to Palm Springs and did that tour. It was fun seeing all of the homes and the narrator did a good job of explaining things. We were just disappointed that we didn't get to all the homes first before going to the cemetery.

The set up is not very intuitive. A new user should not have to train on the nuances of it operation. I finally got it to work about an hour into it and after my calls for help went to voice mail. It should e clear up front what apps you need to download. Not ready for prime time

Right after booking, an email with step-by-step setup instructions is sent, along with a short tutorial video. Do you recall receiving that email? Before purchase, I also mention that the app and tour should be downloaded in advance while on a strong internet connection, since service in some areas can be limited. I can also see that the password was not redeemed, which is why the tour wouldn’t have appeared in the app. Please feel free to reach out to us—I’m more than happy to personally walk you through the setup step by step. And of course, if needed, I can also offer a replacement tour or a refund.
