If you drive too quickly, the audio does not finish. Also, if you get off course, such as for a bathroom break, return to the last location completed.

It was hard to follow the story and directions and drive at the same time. I would often drive too fast past a landmark that had a story and the navigation and location story would stop, not directing me how to go back. I got lost a few times and missed several actor's homes and stories.

My purchased audio tour didn't show up on my tours list, even after following all the numerous instructions. The code they sent me to use wasn't recognized by their own system. I had to call for support, and of course they were all busy but they did call me back later.
The support person was incredibly hard to understand, but after some time he was able to make my tour show up so I could access it.
The user interface wasn't quite what I was expecting. It does use GPS to know where you are driving, but I was expecting it to integrate into Google maps. It does not, and if you make a wrong turn, it's pretty difficult to figure out where to go next.

Bill, I’m sorry the setup process was frustrating, the code didn’t work smoothly at first, and the support call wasn’t as clear as it should have been. The tour uses its own GPS-based map rather than integrating directly with Google Maps, so staying on the route shown in the app helps keep the audio and directions synced. If you miss a turn, you can return to the closest route point and continue from there. I’ll pass your comments to my team as we review ways to make setup, navigation, and route recovery easier.
This driving tour was fantastic. The only change I would make is to do the Coachella stuff separate because when we bypassed that portion on the app, it did not take us directly to the next "event".... Palm Springs airport then Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra's cemetery memorial. We tried to put in an address and it didn't work. We ended our tour and were disappointed. Other than that, the tour was perfect. Too bad a lot of the homes have privacy gates and hedges.

Some homes do have privacy gates and hedges, but I’m happy the rest of the tour was a great experience.
The technology itself is pretty cool: drive around and the voice automatically narrates details about a specific site. The content, on the other hand, was not what I was hoping for. If you’d like to know where Alan Ladd lived or maybe see Dinah Shore’s house, this is the tour for you! If you have no idea who these people are and would be more interested in local history or architectural details, you might be a little underwhelmed.

We enjoyed the audio guide, thank you! Just needed to download the app and then download the audio and then you are good to go! Make sure you have a wi-fi connection to do that. Otherwise we had fun, listening interesting short stories about each celebrity houses.

Overall a good tour. The starting point was tricky. Also, there were a few times when we got to an intersection before the narrator stopped and we didn't know which way to go. Sometimes, the narrator would tell where to stop like up near the green shrubs...well there may be more than 1 set of them.
But once we got the hang of it, it was good.

Gary, my listing notes that audio tour begins next to The Arches House at 595 W Chino Canyon Road, with the gated home and adobe arches on your left, then continues along W Chino Canyon Road; staying close to the route and driving at the suggested pace helps the narration and turns stay in sync. Very difficult to navigate directions to actually down load tour. I had to make three phone calls to the support team who managed to get me logged on.

This experience requires 2 apps. You must download load both before you can begin. The directions for accessing the tour app is not clear and was difficult to navigate. The directions are very difficult to understand. Once set up, the Action Tour Guide was amazing!

It took our family about an hour and a half to view the main route. There are alternate routes, should you wish to explore more. The narrated tour is clear, fun to hear, and pretty simple to initiate. Just don’t forget to download the tour before driving to the “meet” location.

This tour was a lot of fun and a great way to beat the Palm Springs heat while being entertained. The celebrity stories were interesting and I loved driving around the neighborhoods the tour led me around because there is so much fantastic architecture. Terrible and unreliable GPS navigation. This is the WORST driving excursion I have experienced. You should either upgrade your GPS navigation or delete this tour.

Make sure everyone in your party is prepared well before the trip. Not doing so can mean details like Carplay and the dashboard map don't get proper setup.

Easy to follow along! Our host had a very clear, personable speaking voice. Very specific instructions allowed for us to really enjoy!
Only downside was audio abruptly stopped mid way thru Bette Davis stop (think #34) and we couldn’t get it fired back up. Maybe tour was supposed to end. It was over for us for sure?

I don’t ever do reviews, but I wanted to review this one. Everyone remarked that this was the best and the easiest. This is my second driving self guided tour. The app was easy enough to work with however, once the tour started, it could never quite get me to the starting point of the tour so I had to get out of it to go to Apple Maps to get back into where the exact directs were to the tour start. I like the stories, but the app kept telling me that I could just travel at my own pace to my own areas and it would automatically pick up the sites around me. True to a point. However, they always lagged which left me confused as to whether they were marking me properly on their map. Yes, they did seem to mark my car properly, but the guide couldn’t catch up to where we were. Twice they tried to send me the wrong way down a one-way street. And when I became creative and moved to another street, it seemed to have trouble understanding why I was there. We listened for a few of the sites, and then abandoned it all together maybe somebody who’s a little more Tech Savey could do this , I could never get to the navigation system onto my computer panel of my car so I constantly had to use the phone and as a driver I found it distracting. I don’t think I’ll do any more self-guided tours. Next time I’ll go with the tour guide.

Since this is a GPS tour, it works best when launched from the official start and following the route. Changes or GPS delays can cause lag or confusion. I’m concerned about the one-way street issue and would like to know the streets involved to investigate further. Currently, only audio plays through Apple CarPlay, and full navigation is pending Apple approval, so many use Bluetooth or AUX. I appreciate your feedback and am sorry it didn't meet expectations. Really fun tour. It’s very extensive and takes you to all the sights. The app was very easy to use and the narrator’s voice was very soothing. We have been to Palm Springs many times but never knew the history or so many celebrities had homes here. Would absolutely recommend.

Had us drive out to a starting point, we didn’t need to go to, so we back tracked into downtown. Houses are obstructed by walls and shrubs. The Palm Canyon was interesting, but didn’t do the hike because of rattlesnakes.

This was a great tour. The mapping was spot on and the stories were great. It also helped that each stop had a corresponding picture so you know what to look for. It was inexpensive and I was able to spend as much time at each stop that I wanted without having to deal with a large guided tour.

This app is definitely priced right compared to the guided tours available in Palm Springs. It does take a bit of doing some sometimes to figure out what house the app is talking about. I would recommend doing this tour on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. On weekends, there are often multiple cars and the streets can be narrow, making it difficult to see.
