Michael was an awesome instructor who had my husband and I surfing on our very first attempt! We have never attempted surfing prior to this occasion. He was very patient and explained everything clearly. The GoPro was a great addition and we love watching the videos. It was a great time celebrating my 50th birthday. His prices are unbeatable because of his teaching abilities, private lesson, and GoPro link. He provided the shirt to prevent rash, reef shoes, and the board. Ala Moana Beach was a perfect beach to learn on for our first time. It was not crowded like Waikiki Beach and the waves are small so you don't have to worry about falling and being held underwater by a wave. This is a must book experience if you are interested in surfing!

Ryo was an excellent teacher. He was very patient and great to talk to. Everyone in our group was able to stand up on the board during the session. This was the perfect introduction to surfing, and I’m so happy we booked it. Added plus of it not being crowded and getting the GoPro footage. I highly recommend.

Preeya was an amazing influence and instructor! She was so awesome! My daughter got right up and loved the whole experience! She went an rented a surfboard the next day and went surfing! The Go Pro videos we will cherish forever!

John and Rio were fantastic! It was a beautiful day and they made it even better. Every member of our family got up on the surfboard under their instruction. They were patient (even with our younger boys) and were eager for us to learn as much as we could. It was the most fun we’ve EVER had! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! TEN stars!

My instructor, Ryo was amazing!!! Super helpful, funny, and knowledgeable. I got to meet another instructor, Preeya, also super awesome :) I had to reschedule my lesson a couple days before and mike accommodated my schedule and helped me out without any trouble. I 100% recommend this place!!!!! I honestly feel like this place could charge a lot more for what they provide. They have a great team of instructors and you wont find any other places with free go pro videos!!! Thank you!!!!!!!

I had such a great time during this surf lesson. It was my first time ever surfing and I felt really prepared going into the water. Our instructor Rio was amazing and super attentive. We were in a small group of three, and it honestly felt like we each got individual instruction and encouragement the whole time. He broke things down in a way that made it feel doable and safe, and I never felt rushed or overlooked. By the end of the lesson, I was actually able to catch my own waves, which I never expected for my first time. I felt safe, supported, and had so much fun throughout the entire experience. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially beginners who want a calm, confidence boosting introduction to surfing.

Mike was such a great teacher!!! We were all able to stand up on the first try and had a great experience. The go pro videos made the experience even more fun. I highly recommend booking this surf lesson, I think we totally got our moneys worth so happy we went with this company!

My husband and his friend did this adventure on Tuesday. They had the best time and actually stood up a few times!! John was so patient with them and a great teacher! They learned a lot and are excited to try it again! Book this tour because the GoPro videos are worth it!!

The Absolute BEST Surf Lesson on the Island—10/5 Stars if We Could!
Stop scrolling and book this right now. This was hands-down the most fantastic experience of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, Mike and Reo were the perfect hosts—friendly, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about surfing and Hawaiian culture.
The personalized attention was unbelievable. It felt like an exclusive, private lesson, a complete world away from the crowded, chaotic beaches of Waikiki. Mike worked closely with my husband and me, giving us focused instruction that had us both standing up on our boards by the end of the session! Beyond the waves, Mike gave us incredible, insider tips on must-see spots around the island.
The time flew by because we were having so much fun, and the location was pure magic. As if the perfect waves weren't enough, we even had a spectacular bonus sea turtle sighting!
Seriously, if you are planning to take a surf lesson, you would be absolutely silly to consider going with anyone else. This team deserves ten stars. They deliver success, warmth, and an unforgettable Hawaiian experience.

We did this because it was on my husband’s bucket list! mother in law stayed and watched and my husband and I went on to surf! The instructors were extremely understanding of our abilities and took care of each of our group members needs, the instructions were clear and the area we surfed, at Ala Moana, was only maybe 5ft deep so I had no fear of drowning when I fell off the Board a few times! I even was able to catch a few waves standing up! Their goal is to get you to a beginner level of surf and honestly I definitely achieved that and it’s definitely an addicting sport! They opened up a love of surfing in me I’d never thought I’d have!! Thank you!!

Awesome surfing experience. Met instructor on the beach, spent a few minutes going over basics, then got in the water. Instructor helped catch the waves and tell you when to stand up. Location was perfect, nice waves spaced apart so you could ride them for about 20-30 seconds. I had prior stand up paddle board, kayaking, and skiing experience, so was able to stand up on the board right away. The balance and control felt similar to other activities. Other classmates I was with struggled at the beginning, but the instructor worked with them constantly until they could and up on the board by the end of the lesson. It was the right amount of time, as my shoulders were tired at the end of the lesson. Instructor provided rash guard or neoprene top. Bring your own water shoes, as the reef is rocky and sharp. I did the 0700 lesson and the waves were perfect at the beginning, closer to 0830 the waves were shorter. The water was chilly, but with the neoprene I was warm. I liked the 0700 lesson as the beach wasn’t too crowded

This was so much fun! My lesson ended up being one on one, so I had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get in a lot of practice with Mike’s oversight. Safety was never a concern either, which is always important when doing activities like this. Would definitely recommend for anyone new to surfing who might like a guided introduction and practice!
