Michael was an awesome instructor who had my husband and I surfing on our very first attempt! We have never attempted surfing prior to this occasion. He was very patient and explained everything clearly. The GoPro was a great addition and we love watching the videos. It was a great time celebrating my 50th birthday. His prices are unbeatable because of his teaching abilities, private lesson, and GoPro link. He provided the shirt to prevent rash, reef shoes, and the board. Ala Moana Beach was a perfect beach to learn on for our first time. It was not crowded like Waikiki Beach and the waves are small so you don't have to worry about falling and being held underwater by a wave. This is a must book experience if you are interested in surfing!

This was my daughter's first exposure to surfing and she had fun! Great location. Easy to find with available parking.
Was a fantastic time! There were three teachers for five learners, so after a group practice of essential skills on the beach, my husband and I were able to tackle wave after wave with a single teacher giving individualized feedback after each attempt. We were both surfing consistently for the last half of the session thanks to the awesome teaching! Mahalo!
This was such a great experience for our 3 kids. The student to instructor ratio was so good. The kids learnt so much and genuinely loved their first ever surf lesson. Great location for it as it had more gentle surf and no crowds. The GoPro footage we received was so good as such a great extra to have as a parent to be able to see what the kids did and experienced out on the water. We would highly recommend this tour.
I had instructor Jack, the surfingsensei and he was amazing! His instructions were clear and so easy to follow. Very nice, friendly, and encouraging! I did the semi-private lesson and only had one other person, it was fantastic! I love that the videos from the GoPro were included in the price. If you’re thinking about booking this, the answer is DO IT!!!
This is I’m sure the best surfing lesson on Oahu! Our instructor Jack was awesome and we both managed to pick it up within a few waves. The spot the lesson takes place at is great, easy to find and free parking. Loved it, mahalo!
This was absolutely perfect for a first time, middle aged, surfer. The surfing coach Jack was super helpful and patient. Everything was clearly explained and he was very supportive after each attempt. Through his guidance I managed to stand up and surf after a few tries. The included videos are great and prove to my family and friends I really did surf! The beach is ideal, beautiful, quiet and ideal conditions for a novice. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience it was amazing and a holiday highlight.

My experience was so EPIC. I have dreamt of learning how to surf for the longest. My instructor Jack was AMAZING. He was attentive, funny, and provided feedback.
Learning how to surf is definitely tiring- a full body work out, and requires good balance- helps if you have a strong core.
I was given a vest to wear over my bathing top and water shoes. If you have the option for the tights- I’d take it. Getting on and off the board can be a lot on your legs if exposed - it’s what you’re comfortable with.
Definitely stretch and open your hips before going - it would help a lot.
I wish we had more time- it was so much fun!!

First time on a surfboard and I’m totally hooked! The location was gorgeous, the waves were perfect, and my instructor was absolute gold—so clear, encouraging, and easy to learn from.
I was catching and riding waves way faster than I ever expected for day one! Incredible vibe from start to finish. If you’re on the fence about booking a lesson, just do it.
John was great for teaching a first time surfer. My daughter had a blast and caught a few waves! It was nice being just a mile or two from the resort center.
If you ever thought about giving surfing a try, Michael does an excellent job keeping it simple and out there with you which made riding the waves easier than we ever expected.

My kids loved the experience. At first they were a little apprehensive, but by the time I saw them come back from the water they had smiles all across their faces. The guide is very knowledgeable and is able to easily get your kids standing on the waves and having fun. Must do if in Honolulu!
Super exceptional experience! Brought my 10yr old daughter on a mommy/daughter trip and this has been the best adventure so far! We had the pleasure of meeting Mike and Preeya. Preeya was so down to earth and professional. She made my young daughter feel so confident and comfortable which is beyond important for me. We loved this whole experience so much that we are going for round 2!

Amazing first time surf lesson! We were 3 women ages 17, 19, and 46 who had zero prior knowledge or skills and we ALL ended up feeling confident and catching some great waves! The instructors (we had 2 for a total group of 4) were so kind and encouraging. Wish we had more time to go back again for another lesson. Mahalo!!!

Really loved this experience. Waikiki surfing is a bit overwhelming, so this experience without the crowds really did deliver. Ryo was fantastic with the kids (ages 10 and 11) - and they loved him. He taught them well, and had fun with them, and they both got up and surfed and had a blast! A million stars!
Awesome lesson. Just my two daughters, so very individualized attention to coaching. My daughters were able to get up on first try, thanks to Ryo's coaching. They provide pin location, so you know where to meet, overall great experience.
