CRAP!! Expired our 3 day pass after the first DAY. AVOID!

Anthony_S, Jan 2024
Crap. We purchased a 3 day NYC sightseeing pass for 4 people for USD$1200+. Used it for one thing on the first day. On the second day the passes were all expired in the Viator app. We could not access any sights for a chunk of the day without paying at the attractions. When we told one of the people at the Intrepid museum they went out of their way to figure out how to get the passes through the web site. However by this stage it had already cost us lots extra. Very poor form Viator. From now on we will book direct and not through this dodgy organisation.

Mixed feelings

Great ticket. Able to see so many attractions and saved some money but after the first day was unable to view my tickets. Good job I'd printed them off!

Terrible Customer Service. Changing their story non-stop

Dan_E, Jun 2023
I called Sightseeing pass to reserve my included shuttle from the airport. The lady informed me I cannot reserve in advance and must call from the airport, which I thought wasn't normal with shuttles, as I'd the have to wait extra time for them to come. She told me it would be a 15-30 minute wait, which I thought was fine then. When I called later on arrival, they tried to charge me $40 for the shuttle. After telling them this was included, they then told me that I had to reserve in advance and not on arrival, which is why they're trying to charge me. When I explained what the first person said, they then said they can try and reserve someone for an hour wait and will prioritise everyone else who reserved in advance, which was not what was I was told. He then ridiculed me, saying I should not buy a ticket if I don't know how it works (when I clearly followed the steps). I explained the original person promised up to 30 minutes. They then said they'll get one in 30 minutes for me. When I thought this was over, they informed me the 5 day pass I purchased was only active for 1 day. I payed 439 dollars, so this clearly was not the case, and the ticket said 5 days on it. They said it'll be 1 day and they can't help me, and to contact Viator, where I purchased it from. In the end, it took 30 minutes on the phone just to organise a shuttle. After waiting an hour and the shuttle still hasn't arrived, or contacted me on arrival as promised, I called and they said the shuttle was just pulling into the terminal (I don't know how they could know this instantly without contacting the driver). Another 30 minutes and he still hadn't arrived. Then another 45 minute wait for him to leave. Upon arrival, it took me almost 3 hours from calling to get to the accommodation. Instead of 1 hour by train. This now meant I won't be able to use the pass properly after so many unnecessary delays and stress. I also found out there is no such thing as "fast pass" which they claimed, and no vendor at the attractions accepted Sightseeing Pass for the Express queues. A complete disaster and would avoid buying from these people at all costs!

2 day City pass expired in 2nd day

Chris_Y, May 2022
The city pass Should be good for 48 hours to days where activate your card for the first day and the second day the card indicate already expired how is that fair

Very bad experience

Abdulwahed_A, Mar 2022
I booked for me and my wife and was charged $ 285 for one day trip . I was not informed how and when and where to take the bus . Called and tried to find some help and wasted about two hours calling your company and the sight seeing company . I was advised to go 42nd street port authority terminal to redeem my tickets in order to be allowed to board the bus . I used only the Red Line Bus. Thank you Abdulwahed Alsayyah

Would not buy again! We were very disappointed. I waited like 20 mins trying to get a hold of customer service

Rossy_A, Jul 2021
We did not have a good experience. Many things on their list were permanently closed including the buses

Quite ok for the money invested. In general it worked quite well. Need to plan properly and to be in time for highlights. Except for the cruise, it was waste of time, they did not follow their itinerary, supposed to go near Brooklyn bridge, but skipped that part and went directly to Liberty, with no excuse.

Need to exchange card at store front if you go through 3rd party

Karen K, Aug 2019
The pass was great with the exception of the gray line on off buses and boats. Will save you money at the attractions if you have a plan and pack your trip with attractions. Beware of buying through third party sites as you need to go to the actual store to exchange for physical cards. Also the app will not store your tickets unless you buy directly from the site or store. They will match the 3rd party sites. It was sad because we couldn’t use the tickets scanned and had to walk about two miles to exchange for real ticket cards. Once at the attractions ask where you should stand in the general line -to get actual tickets from the attraction, like one world tower- other attractions like the met you go to the advanced ticket line not the general line - can save you time if you know where to line up. If I could have done it again, I would have bought directly from sightseeing pass online so the tickets would be on my phone.

Absolutely excellent!

Laura D, Jan 2019
I can’t recommend the sightseeing pass enough. If you are visiting for the first time like us and want to pack as much in as possible you will save A LOT of money. There were also some attractions we wouldn’t have known about if we hadn’t bought the pass - eg Intrepid museum. Our teenage boys loved it. I simply printed the passes with the barcode and laminated before our trip. It was very simple to use. Some attractions you have to visit and buy a timed ticket to come back but that would be the case even without the pass. Eg Top if the Rock -we just returned the next morning and walked straight in without a queue. Really great pass - definitely worth the money.(We had the three day pass)

My son and I were visiting from Argentina and were extremely pleased with the Passes. Not only were we able to get a wonderful experience on a double Decker bus, but we also could pick which attractions we wanted to do from the many offers that the pass has. I would recommend this pass to anyone!!

I can give this company -1 or 0. We purchase 3 days pass and we are very disappointed! They are so rude and they don't have a good flow on how to treat the customer right. It's such a waste of money and time. We advise Don't try this sightseeing pass it's very useless. You still have to line up to ALL the attractions and go to their ticketing office to exchange bus ticket etc. such a waste of time. Plus they are awful and racist peeps.

We've just come back after 4 days in the big apple. We purchased these passes after researching all the others on offer .We would recommend them to anybody, they were money well spent ! They are simple and easy to use,we had no problems whatsoever at any of the attractions we visited. If we ever go back we would definitely buy these again.

This is a really good way to see New York in couple of days. Only negative thing was that the second day the Brooklyn loop wasn't active and Grey Line had not informed clearly enough of this, so we missed our Brooklyn loop tour.

Having purchased 4 tickets to visit all the attractions we wanted to in New York we found that the pass we printed online did not work and the local sightseeing pass was unwilling to help. They made us walk to the main office in New York to sort out ourselves. They then gave us 4 new ticket which worked in the attractions but would then not let us on any hop on buses. How frustrating when you have on a short time to see all the attractions and have to end up catching the subway!!!!

Well worth the money. As a group of 4 adults purchasing these Passes, the savings were amazing. The next time we visit New York we'll be purchasing them again as we didn't have the time to see all that was offered. Well done.

Not worth the money. Even with this pass, you still need to wait in line to obtain tickets for most attractions....extremely confusing and frustrating, being turned around at numerous lines. Even with the hop-on, hop-off bus.

Great value for money , no problems with validating the voucher even though there was an error with the barcode which didn’t print out just gave our name. Great that you get money off at restaurants as well, will definitely use when I go again.

Joyce D, Dec 2017
Unfortunately we booked for only one day. It snowed the day we had the hop on hop off bus and there was too much snow to see the Statue of Liberty and to go to the Empire State Building. Very disappointed! We got to the 911 Museum and the line was awful plus the snow and ice in the waiting area. We missed the things we really wanted to see. We were under the impression all we had to do was show the pass you sent us to get on the bus. Not so, we had to go to their office to get a pass to get on the bus. With the weather like it was that was a chore. Thank goodness it was not far from the hotel or we would have been in trouble and would not have been able to get on the bus. Unhappy we did not get to see the things we wanted to and that is why we purchased the pass in advance. We will know better next time.

John P, Dec 2017
According to the free guide that we received when we picked up the tickets the tour ticket was supposed to cover for a central park horse and carriage ride, when we got to the office/shop that we had to visit to pick up the tickets they told us our ticket didn't cover this ride and as I had bought 4 of these passes I then had to pay a further 53.00 for a 20 minute ride. I also discovered to my cost there are two types of 9/11 memorial, the ticket doesn't cover for the actual museum at the 9/11 site but the smaller 9/11 tribute museum which was some distance away from the museum we thought we were going to Therefore I then had to pay in addition for entry fees to the 9/11 museum. The open top busses are great but when we got off one and later tried to get onto the night tour bus we saw 4 busses go past which were full before we managed to get onto the last one of the night, what happened to the people that didn't get on I have no idea. All in all not over impressed with this pass, you need to do your homework before you buy.

When i purchased the city passes i was excited to be able to download a scanner so that we didn't need to carry a paper source around. Unfortunately there was some error with the transaction and all five of my passes that I purchased had to be redeemed at the citypass office. It took the lady there a long time to transfer the tickets and i was only able to get 'cards'. My daughter ended up loosing her card and I was told at another city pass office that i need to return to the original one that we got the pass from. I found this quite inconvenient as we were on vacation wanting to see the sights and not wanting to run across the city to the office and waste our time waiting in yet another line. The first day we used the hop on hop off bus which was great. No issues there. When we went to our first tourist stop at the Empire State building, I didn't realize you had to redeem your passes to get the tickets for the viewing. We had waited in line, gone through security and we were not about to go back downstairs and wait to get the passes redeemed and then return to the line and security again. This was very frustrating. We ended up just paying for our tickets instead. When we went to the One World Observatory, I wanted to make sure that there citypass office was close by and i redeemed the tickets first. Well after a lot of running around being directed to their office in different locations by police officers and others at the OWO we ended up in the main lobby where the citypass office happened to be and they redeemed the cards for the tickets for us to go up. It was not as easy and convenient to us this pass at all. We ended up paying just so we didn't have the stress of more lines and more wait as when you are trying to see all the sights, you wait a lot! It gets stressful when you have a party of 5. Would not buy this again!

constermonster, Nov 2017
Sightseeing cruise was great, very informative and an opportunity for some great pictures The hop on hop off bus tours are a great way to see and learn about the sights, but there's a lot of traffic which makes it take longer, so be aware if you're worried about time limits Darryl on the night cruise was very entertaining and was a great guide/driver The 'fast track' option is interpreted differently at different sights madam tussauds put the 'VIPs' in a longer, slower line, but One World Observatory took you past a very long line right up to the front Can save you money if you plan well, but read carefully - not all of the 'deals' were honoured for us

Hong Lee, Nov 2017
found out this was the most economic way to visit as many NYC attractions in a day as you can. Time played a huge role here, you got to be prepared and plan your stop wisely. My friend and I started with grey line lower Manhattan hoop on and off bus tour, we make the stop at 9/11 tributes museum and strolled around financial district. we than back on the subway to go back to Time Square, from there we grab our lunch then continues with Gulliver's Gate Highly recommended, a must see Madame Tussauds, Ripley's Believe it or Not. We will able to make a stop central park before heading to Highline. Our evening ended at Sunset cruise where we were able to experience the sun sets over the big apple.

Dennis B, Nov 2017
I would say this is the best value pass for NY but to get really good value you need to plan your days well in advance, start early which I didn't and have a plan for if it rains. The fast track on certain attractions saves a lot of time alone. I didn't do many tours as I concentrated on the main attractions, and still got my moneys worth. Would definitely recommend it.

Sandra B, Oct 2017
Very hard to get tickets to much of what was offered. Downloaded Book was ‘out of date’ according to ticket reps. I went to stop 1 on my first day and they only offered Natural Museum of History or bus pass. Nothing else. Very poor communication. Never used bus pass because I couldn’t find stops.

Great value for money. Try to get in as much as you can. We bought the 3day pass. Went to Empire State Building, one world trade centre and didn't have to wait in line...was great. Wish we were there longer. The hop on hop off buses were great too and got to see a lot of landmarks on them.

This pass is the best way to discover NYC!! We had the 3 Day pass, we visit the most icon attractions of the city and could use all the buses. Some of the attractions have the skip the line, so you save time as well!! I definitely would recommend this pass to everyone, it is worth it!

Gracilia H, Oct 2017
We enjoyed our trip to NYC so much. We purchased the 3 day pass and were very pleased. Saved more than double the price of the pass. I admit we also bought the 7 day metro pass to get to destinations quicker, which made the whole experience awesome because we saw more attractions and that is what it s all about. Just do some homework and plan your day, well worth it.

Pavan, Sep 2017
Not recognized at some attractions, Especially at Empire state building. Please note that you need to visit City Sightseeing Counter inside Empire state building to get valid fast lane ticket recognized by Entrance staff. We were sent back from Top floor to main entrance again as the ticket / Voucher is not recognized. Statue of liberty tour also did not give fast lane access. One world observatory recognized this pass. Grayline bus tours are good. Over all this pass is good if you have ample time and clear plan of what you want to see.
