What a great tour! I frequently take food tours and this one was like no other! Sierra was top notch. They gave us so much history about the area and obviously really loved the culture, people, and food. Their passion was infectious and made each food experience more intriguing. Highly recommend but… you may want to do this tour last on your trip as it is so much better than others that it raises the bar high.

Tour and Guide are Amazing!

nancy_B, Apr 2025
Definitely more off the beaten path and a lot more standing than on other food tours, but well worth it! Tons of food and so much interesting details on where that food comes from and other culinary insights. This is definitely a food tour for foodies. Also a smaller group than other tours we have done which is perfect for the location. Highly recommend.

Authentic, Delicious, Family Friendly Food Tour

Stephen_W, Mar 2024
Sierra was our tour guide and doesn’t almost 6 hours giving our family of 5 (3 kids at ages 9,12, and 14) a unique, tasty experience. My kids were sad it was finished. We love Asian food and tasted both new types of food and some of our favorites. There was a perfect amount of waking and sitting throughout the day and Sierra accommodated whatever we needed. Their knowledge and expertise of both the cuisine and culture of China, Taiwan, and Flushimg itself was amazing. We would do this again.

Can't recommend enough

Matthew_H, Nov 2023
Incredible tour. Esneider was fun, warm, funny, interesting, intelligent and above all, he knew New York and he knew food. Great combination of history and food. We got to try well over a dozen things, typically with everyone sharing to better try everything out. A mix of savoury and sweet, familiar dishes better than I've ever tasted them and new ones I hope to try again. Didn't need to eat anything else all day. Can't recommend enough

Great way to eat your way through Chinatown

Culinary Backstreet Asia in Queens (Flushing) Food Tour

Marian_O, Jun 2023
This was a well coordinated tour by Culinary Backstreet. Sierra was informative, moves at a good pace, with great choices of foods while touring the area of Flushing in ~6 hours. There were Chinese dumplings, breads, Portuguese egg tarts, various thin and rice noodle dishes, wonderful veggie dishes, Korean sushi, soup, sausages, and spicy rice cakes, with drinks including boba, coffee, tea, and water and desserts. We visited 2 food courts & a large Asian grocery store with a great variety of Asian foods. Plenty of food, so do pace yourself. Also, plenty of pit stop as needed. We got a great history lesson on Flushing throughout the 6 hours. A must go Asian food tour you will not forget!
