Sally’s tour was so informative! She provided excellent information about available parking, Uber and streetcar. It was easy to find her at the cemetery. Her extensive research with the NOLA archdiocese, cemetery workers and local community members as well as travels to study in Paris shine throughout the tour. Intriguing tour. When the tour was over she recommended a neighborhood lunch spot 5 minutes away that was perfect for etouffe and gumbo. Sally’s tour is well worth the time and cost!
Patricia_H, Nov 2025
This woman knew alot about the cemetary. She was a wealth of history. We learned many things about NOLA and why they have many of the customs they do.
Stephen_L, Nov 2025
A cemetary tour is a must in New Orleans, and this one was fabulous. Our guide, Sally, is a scholar on tombs and cemetaries, and she provided amazing comment on the tombs and the persons buried in them.

Sally is knowledgeable, colorful, and funny, telling interesting stories about the interred and stores related to the interred. She has a notebook of photographs that enhance the experience, and it is obvious she is a professional taphophile (as opposed to us amateurs). Her wealth of knowledge about the symbolism of the tombs as well as their construction is particularly impressive. The tour group was small, which lent an intimacy to the experience that may be missing from tours of other cemeteries. After the tour, she stayed around and spoke with me about 10 minutes about our shared love of the “cities of the dead.” Highly recommended!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you! I always enjoying talking to fellow cemetery nerds. I am so happy you enjoyed your tour.
