We enjoyed getting a little history mixed in with the architecture tour. I definitely see the city through a different set of eyes. Our guide, Eva, provided us with just enough details to satisfy the nerds but enough stories to keep us entertained.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! That balance of architectural detail and storytelling is exactly what we strive for. Eva does a great job making the city accessible whether you’re a history buff or just along for a good story—we’re so glad it resonated!

Phant (Caroline) had interesting stories, kept a nice pace and did a nice job keeping us comfortable. She was entertaining without being obnoxious. The 2 hours flew by; great job!

Walk around the French Quarter chatting about the buildings. It was sometimes difficult to hear, but still enjoyed.
Laura_M, Feb 2026
Caroline was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot. It was a cold day and she was able to keep us on the sunny side of the street
Tara_S, Jan 2026
Excellent and insightful experience. Eva, a native New Orleanian gave an amazing historical presentation full of facts, stories, education, and fun. A fantastic tour, 5 stars!
Timothy_D, Dec 2025
Was ok. Pretty basic info. More of a neighborhood tour of the French Quarter vs an architecture tour. Didn’t really do a good job of the “why” and the “what” of the architecture.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the tour didn’t meet your expectations.
Our French Quarter architecture tours do focus on architectural terminology, materials, and stylistic influences, while also placing those elements within the broader historical and neighborhood context that shaped them. New Orleans architecture is deeply tied to social history, climate, and culture, so we intentionally explore how and why these buildings evolved alongside the community.
That said, we understand that different guests are looking for different levels of depth or a particular analytical approach, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. We value all feedback and continuously work to ensure our tours are both informative and engaging.
If you find yourself back in New Orleans, we would be happy to welcome you back as our guest on another tour and hope we might better match your interests next time.

Great historical context for architectural history .
Caroline was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and loved her talking about strong Creole women and their influence on New Orleans and architecture
Coley_G, Oct 2025
Great way to learn about Nola history. Loved being guided to see the most significant buildings and hear about important settlers in the French Quarter.
Jacqueline_V, Oct 2025
Caroline was so so engaging and informative. We were fascinated by the stories of the strong women that helped shaped the community and culture. The bonus of learning that one of her ancestors was influential in the city’s history was an extra gift. The details on the architectural styles and the historical periods that influenced them told us so much as we continued to explore the French Quarter on our own.
Cary_J, Sep 2025

Very informative tour around central French quarter. Caroline (Phant) was engaging and fun. The tour included both architectural insights plus people history and was a nice balance. Loved learning about how buildings were constructed as well as the different styles by period and by sphere of influence (France, Spain, etc). A must-do tour

Our guide, Angela, was incredible. She was more like a true historian rather than just a guide. We not only learned about all the architectural influences but we got the full history behind everything. Also, she was extremely personable and made the 2 hour walk so easy and fun. I'm sure other guides could have made this tour boring but it was entertaining and she was great with her dad-jokes! I'd highly recommend this tour.

Great tour that gives overview of history, culture and architecture. Take at beginning of your visit. You’ll see, appreciate, and understand so much more about the French Quarter as you walk around. Caroline our guide was amazing. Loved her stories of women who had an impact through history, her ability to use stories to integrate history facts and culture.
