We had a great time in the Garden District with Michelle. We learned and ate a lot! Excellent food choices. Also, so nice to get away from the French Quarter and try something different. You can spend all day on Magazine St.

This experience was awesome! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Michelle is a wonderful guide. She taught us so much about local history and customs, shared excellent food with us, and gave everyone in our group great tips about places to shop and eat while we’re in town. She went above and beyond and made this tour so much fun!

Michelle leads a fantastic tour- starting with history that sets the stage for the tour - architectural highlights, delicious food and history- she is knowledgeable and fun!!!

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks! I'm glad it's well-rounded and gives you a full experience of New Orleans. And feeds you!

Do this tour first.

We wish we had taken this tour on our very first day. We learned so much great information about the city that would have saved us time and money.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Good tip! Thanks for taking the tour & glad I may have given you a reason to come back to town :)

Absolutely the Best

Rick_S, Dec 2025
Our family was in New Orleans for 12 days and took many tours. By far the best were guided by Michelle Mashon. She is a native of the city and knows all the best history and places to visit away from the normal tourist spots. I would give her 6 stars if that was possible.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Aw, thanks! Being a small business, it's so important to me that I give a one-of-a-kind experience that also leaves a great impression of what makes New Orleans special- I appreciate it!

Michelle is the best and this tour is a delight!

Wonderful guide and tour. We learned a lot of history about New Orleans, the Garden District and the food that we ate. Everywhere we ate was delicious. Michelle was a great source of information and we even tried some of her local recommendations for dinner that night. Highly encourage you to take this tour!

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thanks & I'm glad I could show you a great time in NOLA!

Definitely worth the cost of admission!

Gabrielle_M, Apr 2025
Michelle was an amazing host! The food was excellent, loved that she knew so many people/places in the neighborhood, it's obvious she spends a lot of time there and has gotten to know the restaurants and owners. She had so much historical and cultural information to share, this is just as much a history tour as a food tour. She was able to answer all of our questions and gave additional recommendations for other places to visit, restraurants to try, and local hangouts. Everyone in our party thought the tour was absolutely worth the cost.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Glad to hear it! Thanks for sharing & leaving a glowing review!

Definitely a must

Theresa_W, Mar 2025

A tour that takes you out of the Quarter and allows you to be introduced to new places!!!!

Christine_P, Feb 2025
This was such an awesome tour that I recommend 100%! The tour guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of NOLA! I loved that the tour took us out of the Quarter and had us trying and seeing new places. The food and drinks were AMAZING and actually we went back to one of the establishments the next day. We felt as if we were just hanging out with an old friend!

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thanks so much for coming along & drinking your way through the less-known but much loved local spots in the Quarter! Hope ya'll had an amazing time in NOLA & will come back and visit us again!

New Orleans Garden District Food, Drinks, & History Walking Tour

Carol_A, Feb 2025
Michelle, the owner and tour guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable, shared lots of great history, showed us amazing houses in the Garden District including Sandra Bullock's home and where Benjamin Button, the movie, was filmed. The food was all delicious and much different than the French Quarter food. We had a small group which also great for us and MIchelle answered all questions, was very friendly and accommodating for food choices when possible. Restaurants may vary on a given day but we had a delicious alcoholic drink (I chose the frozen Irish Crown Royal coffee drink with Crown Royal...yummy!); I got the 1/2 of a muffeletta which was delicious and my husband enjoyed a yummy roast beef poor boy-these sandwiches were much better than in the French quarter. We got to choose an empanada from Empanola - they are the best (like little individual pies with great fillings like crawfish Etouffee, gumbo-there were like 20 different choices and so delicious, we came back and purchased more). We got to choose our dessert beignet from the Vintage including a King Cake Beignet (my choice and delicious), praline (my husband's choice), smores, etc. These are much more special than a powdered sugar beignet! We highly recommend this food tour and visit to the Garden District, it was well worth it!

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Excellent! It was great to show you guys around my neighborhood and some signature NOLA dishes where the locals go & that you returned to them- happy & tasty travels!

Great guide, great food, fantastic tour!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Michelle despite the chilly temps! She was knowledgeable, eager to answer our questions and had a ton of pride in her hometown and neighborhood. We were anxious to get out of the French Quarter and loved getting to know the Garden District. Food was outstanding and she shared recommendations for dinner options that were delicious too. Thanks Michelle!

Response from Host, Mar 2025
