Excellent! Recommend this tour for sure. Knowledgeable guide and thoroughly enjoyable :)
Why are these reviews 100 char minimum?
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much for this great review! And I’m so proud of you for filling out the 100 character minimum. It was a pleasure to walk around with you through the Garden District. I hope your entire time in New Orleans was fun, and that you got to explore some more of our cemeteries.
It’s always great to meet another taphophile! See you next time!

During our walk, our guide Lesley, included a lot of New Orleans history. The homes and gardens are beautiful, and the stories behind them are quite interesting.
A note: the sidewalks are quite uneven, due to old, giant oak tree roots. This is not a good option for those with mobility issues.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thanks for this excellent review! We agree with you that the stories behind the houses and the gardens make the whole area as interesting as it is beautiful. We also agree that the sidewalks are an absolute hazard. We have worked out a few routes for the times when we have guests in wheelchairs or scooters, but it is also wise to be advised that the trees that make the neighborhood so beautiful also make walking through the neighborhood a challenge. Lace up your sneakers and come see us again next time you’re in town!

A woman named Libby was our tour guide and she was exceptional. Incredibly knowledgeable with great stories and a terrific way of telling them. Can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re lucky enough to have her as your tour guide tip, her big!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! Yes, bring on the tips! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the stories of the Garden District. This lush neighborhood is known for its lovely gardens and mansions, but the stories behind them make it even more interesting. I am thrilled to be able to tell them! See you next time!

Really enjoyed our garden district tour with Libby. Great historical references with a fun take. Discussed NOLA history, architecture and who lived in homes before and now. Highly recommend this tour !
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much for this recommendation and high rating. We are so happy that you enjoyed your walk through the gracious and lush Garden District with us. We know there are lots of tour companies out there, and we appreciate it when we get the opportunity to show visitors what makes this place so special. Also, these are fun stories! If we did not have the opportunity to laugh at ourselves and our history every day, I don’t think we would be able to do this job. We are so happy that you shared a little bit of your vacation time with us and we hope to see you next time we make it to New Orleans.

This is usually a great tour. Make time to get to the bakery early for coffee and a snack. Our day had a cold front which made it pretty miserable for walking.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much for leaving this review. The Garden District is of course very beautiful, but when we get a cold front, it does require a bit more stamina to enjoy its elegance. I think you enjoyed the tour (I hope so) because we do our best to keep our guests as comfortable as possible, even when the weather does not cooperate. We agree that Gracious Bakery is a wonderful place to meet and have a pastry before or after a tour. We hope you had a great time in New Orleans despite the unexpected cold snap and that you walk with us on a prettier day next time! Maybe then we can earn five stars!

Libby did a great job giving us a thorough backstory of New Orleans. We understood the history that lead up to the garden district. Very knowledgeable of all the houses and past owners. Great time.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Great time! Thank you so much! We do feel that an understanding of our unique history, contributes to a greater appreciation of the architecture, culture, music, food, everything! We are honored to be able to share the history every day with visitors, and we hope that you walk with us again next time you make it to New Orleans.

nice tour of the Garden District … never had a chance to see on my other trip
to New Orleans…. smaller children might not endure …loved seeing the architecture and famous houses. weather was great
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much! Sometimes people take off points for the weather, but I think this time the weather helped us out and got us an excellent rating! We are so happy you enjoyed your stroll through the Garden District. I agree that the architecture and the history are not always stimulating for small children. But us grown-ups absolutely love it! We’re so happy that you ventured into the Garden District on this trip, and we hope that you join us next time you make it to New Orleans. See you then!

Our tour guide Lesley was very knowledgeable and personable. She made the tour enjoyable. Each home was unique and interesting to hear about the history.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! Lesley is a great guide with so much knowledge and a great storytelling style. We are all grateful that the people who built the lovely homes in the Garden District in the 19th century each wanted to show off their own personal style, because that gives us lots of stories to tell! We appreciate you choosing us to show you this neighborhood, and we are grateful for this wonderful review. Please tour with us again!
Libby
Laurel_P, Feb 2026
Lesley was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm for the subject. It was a small group and we could always hear her perfectly.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you! Lesley is indeed an excellent guide who has so much enthusiasm for New Orleans and its culture. We keep our groups small so that everyone feels engaged, can ask questions, and can hear the guide. Thank you for choosing us, and please come walk with us another time.

Tim was our guide and was so great! So much history and knowledge of the area, friendly and fun facts. I've done many Garden District tours before and I learned more than I had before. Highly recommend
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much! It really means a lot coming from someone who obviously quite loves the Garden District. We really appreciate your recommendation and we’re so happy that you enjoyed your time and learned some things with Tim. Let’s do it again!

Valeria_N, Feb 2026
This tour was Very interesting and informative! The walking is not bad at all because you have a lot of breaks in walking while you’re listening to the guide.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed the information and the pace of the tour. Really, the only way to dive deeply into the culture of the Garden District is on a walking tour. A diving tour just doesn’t do it justice. But, we try to make it as comfortable as we can. I hope your entire trip in New Orleans was fun, and that you come walk with us another time!

What a fantastic way to learn about the history of the Garden District while seeing some incredible architecture and homes. Our guide Lesley was fabulous! She is very passionate about New Orleans and its history. She made the stories of the past come alive and answered all our questions. This tour was an easy walk and it’s definitely worth booking a smaller group as you get a more personalized experience.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Yes! The houses are magnificent and so is Lesley! We are so happy that you enjoyed walking through this gorgeous neighborhood and learning about our history. Questions always make a good tour because everyone is more engaged, and I can see that this was the case on your tour. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this fantastic review and recommendation, and please walk with us through our history next time you make it to New Orleans.

Vineela_R, Jan 2026
Tim was a great guide, who was patient and a great narrator. The tour started off on a strong note, describing the history of the Garden district and explaining the architectural nuances. Eventually, it took a turn where we mostly just talked about famous people who lived in those houses at various times.... similar to a tour in Hollywood. I wish the tour focused more on the historical elements, or simply cut shorter if it was already sufficiently covered.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thanks for reviewing your tour. We regret that the entire tour did not please you as much as the beginning of the tour did. We do try to provide a mix of topics on our tours - a little each of architecture, history, the natural environment, the cemetery, current culture, things to do, and who lives in the stunning homes. We find this variety keeps it interesting, but apparently you would have preferred more of our history - it is quite fascinating! I hope you were able to explore more of our history and architecture while you were here.

Tim also gives a great French Quarter tour.

Lots of interesting facts and information which brought New Orleans to life. Guide, Libby is passionate storyteller, best I’ve ever had
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you so so so much! I am very happy that you enjoyed my presentation of the history and culture of New Orleans. The stories of the Garden District are a little different from those in the French Quarter, but they are just as authentically New Orleans. I am so grateful for this excellent review and recommendation. Please come again!

Jonathan_C, Jan 2026
Very informative 2 hour tour of the architecture and homes in the Garden District - not a long walk so can be tackled by anyone
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for this great review! The Garden District is definitely not a “rush-through“ neighborhood! We go at a pace at which our guests can soak in all of the beauty, culture, and history. We take our time to tell the stories and take the pictures and really get to know the place. I’m so happy you chose us to show you around, and I appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. Please come stroll again next time you are in New Orleans!

This was an excellent walking tour. Tim, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the mansions and the history of this year. His explanations were quite clear. The tour was very well organized.
Also, thank you for letting me join a different time slot so that I could manage my time more effectively.
Would absolutely recommend to anyone
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I’m so happy that you enjoyed your walk through the Garden District with Tim. The neighborhood is beautiful, but the stories behind the houses make it even more interesting. I’m happy we could accommodate your schedule so that you could enjoy more of your time in New Orleans. See you next time!

Libby gave a very fun and detailed tour of the garden district. Its history is very interesting, and we learned about Mardi Gras traditions, too (bonus!).
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thanks for this wonderful review! The Garden District is known for its gardens and architecture, but there are so many interesting stories in that beautiful neighborhood. And as much as Bourbon Street is associated with Mardi Gras, the Garden District really does it up! We are so happy that you chose us among all the tour companies of New Orleans, and we hope that you come walk with us again. See you then!

Julie_S, Dec 2025
Good compliment to the French Quarter tour we did our first day. Super informative about this part of town and its history.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you! And yes, we think taking BOTH tours is the best way to really understand New Orleans more completely. They are both beautiful, authentic, and historic, but completely different. Thanks for diving into our city, and please come again!

Our guide covered the history and took us on a tour through the most beautiful area in New Orleans. The Garden District is the area I picture when I thin about the beautiful homes of that era.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Yes, the Garden District is picture-perfect! We are so happy that you chose us to show you around the beautiful antebellum neighborhood, with its mansions and gardens like no other place. Also, the history is fascinating, and we love to share it with our guests. There’s even more to cover, so please include us in your plans next time you make it to New Orleans.
