- 4WD is highly recommended but not required. Road conditions depend on recent weather, your vehicle's clearance, and your personal comfort level. Many visitors successfully drive the valley in standard vehicles.
- A Navajo guide is required to access roughly half of the park. This is a Navajo Tribal Park policy that applies to all visitors — not specific to our tours.
- Several stops along the tour, including Monument Valley Tribal Park, recommend 4-WD. Though not required, the driver assumes all responsibility for their vehicle and personal safety.
- Travelers must have a smartphone compatible with the Shaka Guide app.
- The app must be downloaded and the tour redeemed before arrival.
- Strong Wi-Fi or cellular data is required to download the tour in advance.
- Location services (GPS) must be enabled on the device
- Travelers are responsible for securing any required entrance passes, reservations, or permits before starting
