We did the VIP experience at the Myths of Maui Luau last night and I can confidently say—it was 100% worth it.
VIP entry still has a line, but here’s the key: we arrived a little before the VIP lineup time so we were right at the front—and that made the whole experience feel seamless. Once they opened, we breezed through the buffet and bar with no lines and had plenty of time to enjoy all the extras before it got crowded—things like the kids getting Polynesian-style tattoos, family photos, and even trying out the fire-knife spinning equipment (so fun to see before the show!).
The setting is absolutely stunning—right on the beach with that classic Maui breeze. We did get a light sprinkle at one point (note: there’s no cover), but honestly it didn’t take away from the experience. In fact, we had a full rainbow stretched across the sky for a good part of dinner, which felt pretty magical.
The food was genuinely great—everyone in our family found something they loved, including my 12- and 14-year-old boys (which says a lot). The cocktails were also fantastic—definitely not an afterthought like at some events.
The show itself was spectacular—engaging, high-energy, and just the right length. It never dragged, and the fire dancing finale was incredible.
Logistically, everything was seamless. We stayed in a resort about 10 minutes away and Ubered back and forth with no issues. Even though lines (including VIP) do form, getting there early put us right at the front—and once inside, VIP guests are escorted straight to their assigned table—no stress, no scrambling. They even orient you right away (bathrooms included, which as a parent, I appreciated immediately!).
Overall, this was such a fun, easy, and memorable night for our whole family. Highly recommend both the luau and the VIP upgrade—you won’t regret it.

VIP Tickets worth the price, assigned table, great view, dedicated server. The show was great. A bit long for younger grandchildren.

do not use viator to book this show. even with a confirmation number it means nothing as out tickets were cancelled 4 hours before showtime.

The show highlighted different dances of Polynesian culture. It was done very professionally and the lighting used added to visual pleasure of the whole show.

Awesome in every way. We purchased the VIP package and it was worth it! Early entrance, great bar, great drinks and heavy pours. The VIP’s get AMAZING seats, right up front! Totally worth the extra $$. The bartender was fun and engaging. The staff was so kind. The food was better than expected. And the performers were world class!!!!

So fun! Food was very good. Drinks were plentiful. The entertainment far surpassed my expectations. There were so many costume changes and dances.

The food was our favorite of the entire trip. Such a good local selection. The show was beautiful and informative. I wouldn’t worry about standing in a long line prior to the doors opening like we did- the seats were assigned and the food was applenty, so there was really no need to worry about getting there early and waiting.

I was notified at 5:15 pm when my uber driver me to the gate of the hotel at 5:15 pm, that the Luau scheduled for 5:30 pm was cancelled. I called Viator to tell them. Prior to that, Viator sent me automated messages asking if I was excited about the event. It was not raining when my uber left my hotel on the NorthShore. It was sprinkling when I arrived. While I understood cancellation for inclement weather, I do not understand that neither Viator or the hotel gave notice in advance of the show. I wasted over $140 on uber fees as well as the evening. Extremely disappointed in this service. I usually always book through Viator. Next time I have learned that a customer needs to contact the provider directly to confirm the event is actually taking place.

This was our first time in Hawaii and of course we had to see a luau ... I have nothing to compare it to ...but great fun and super entertainment. Very well organized venue and really enjoyed our time.

Very entertaining and fun. Gets really chilly outside after sunset, bring a jacket. Would do it again.
Sylvia_F, Jan 2026
It was awesome! Would only do VIP! It was the best. Warren kept bringing us whatever we needed. He’s the best!
Cynthia_B, Jan 2026
They were a little disorganized.
Ran out of flower leis and allowed another group to take our table spots while we were in line for drinks.
Estrellita_M, Jan 2026
It starts at 5:30 but get there at 5:00 or earlier for good seats if in general seating. First hour is for eating. Ordering drinks is tough as the servers are just outside taking pictures and letting people in.
They’ll take a group photo when you come in ands later sell it to you for 20bucks. Worth it! There’s a long line to order alcohol at first, unless your server is available and can come take your order.
Drinks are pretty good. Ahi tuna is the best. Buffet has chicken, ahi tuna, pulled pork for proteins. Then there macaroni salad, regular salads and bread. Including two different options for dessert.

Gps brought us to wrong parking lot. Once there we enjoyed the show. Meal ok. Loved the fire dancers. We, with others were yelled at before the start by a lady because she said we lined up in the wrong place. We did not appreciate that at all.
John_B, Jan 2026
The vip seats are well worth it. The show is amazing and we were back one row from the front. The food was very good also.

Very expensive we paid over 1,000.00 and purchased the VIP for a family of 7. When they say unlimited drinks ( it’s not true ) the bar tender was very rude when asked for a mixed blended drinks for the kids they wanted more $$ 8.00 each to have them crush some ice with a mixed non alcoholic drink / when VIP costs over 400.00 extra
Even though first in line was nice and the other staff was very friendly , the bar tender was the wreak of the night “ bossy” , and flat out rude from where you stood in line to what you wanted to drink . In my opinion this was a money grab. They didn’t even cook the pig or show the bbq underground it was already cooked, which the kids didn’t get to experience.

Good experience. Would explore other luau’s such as the Old Lahania Luau. Blah blah blah blah blahhh
Alisha_M, Dec 2025
The whole experience was amazing from
The greeting to the food to the entertainment highly highly recommended
Holly_G, Dec 2025
Overpriced for the experience. Food wasn’t that good either. Staff was very friendly. I wish I would have spent my money elsewhere.
Denise_V, Dec 2025
Sorry...have experienced a lot of luaus and thought that Myths of Maui Luau was mediocre and definitely overpriced.
Ramona_L, Dec 2025
This was a fun filled evening. Entertainment intertwined with history, culture and fun.
The band was amazing for a local entertainment group. Great voices and great mix of music for all ages pre-show.
The authenticity of the performers, costumes, dances lends a variety to the Hawaiian heritage and it was nice to see they had all ages and sizes of performers.
The buffet dinner had a great selection of locally prepared foods for a Hawaiian luau styling. Our server Warren was the best he made certain our drinks were full and the choices are surprisingly quite a few for all tastes and any of the alcoholic drinks can be provided in non-alcohol selection.
Worth the time and price point for a fun filled evening.
