A delicious and informative introduction to some of the influences on Potuguese cuisine

    Diallo_J, Feb 2025
I highly recommend this tour, I was interested in getting a taste of some of the cuisines that have made their way to Portugal from its former colonies and this tour delivered. In addition to the food itself I learned a lot about the former colonies, and their interactions with Portugal. So whether your interest is in food or history, I can recommend this tour.

Unexpected Highlight of our Portugal Visit!

    Melinda_P, Aug 2023
This food tour was one of the highlights for all of my friends and myself during our visit to Portugal! We absolutely loved trying food from different countries/areas that were former Portuguese colonies while understanding the impact colonization had both on the food/cuisine of those regions as well as Portugal's. We were sad the Angolan restaurant had closed recently (and unexpectedly) but we were honestly so full, it was probably for the best. All the food was so delicious and our tour guide Celia was super lovely and knowledgeable. My parents also joined my friends on this tour (we were a group of 6) - they are both from Portugal and my dad remarked that even though he's been visiting Lisbon for the past 50 years, he had never explored the neighborhoods we toured through which was a nice bonus. Brazilian or Goan food might not be be what first comes to mind when you are thinking of a food tour in Portugal, but we strongly recommend going for it cause it's worth it! And don't forget to tip your guides!! :)
