Mauro did a great job explaining the history of the area, he was flexible and creative. The weather was pretty bad (rain and a short hail storm!) but our guide stayed positive and offered great options.

Great tour guide. Unfortunately didn’t get to see everything due to strikes but we ended up with a more customised tour which was excellent.

A perfect day in Sintra

We had a wonderful time with Mauro, who was very accommodating for our group of 4 that included a toddler. He was communicative the day before our tour, and was early to pick us up from our airbnb the day of. His van is roomy, clean, and comfy, and had a carseat and/or booster seat ready for us. He let us do the day at our own pace, stopped for travesseiros and queijadas at our request, and purchased our Pena Palace shuttle tickets for us. He taught us about Portuguese culture along the way, and was just a delight to chat with. Reimbursing him for tickets can be done via cash or Paypal.

Great tour for families/teens

Mauro provided a wonderful day in Sintra and the coast for my family including two teens. His itinerary was perfect and kept everyone entertained and happy. We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be dropped as close as possible to the locations, saving our energy for the palaces. We really appreciated his perspective having grown up in Sintra and getting to know him generally. Lovely tour and person.

Magical and memorable tour

Our tour with Mauro was amazing. He was so knowledgable and interesting. He took us to a great local spot for lunch. He took us to places we would never be able to see on our own. I don’t want to spoil the surprises but there will be many and they took our breath away. He gave my family and I a day we will remember for the rest of our lives. My son said it was our best day in Portugal and we were here for 2 weeks!! I would highly recommend this tour, and especially with Mauro. Sintra is absolutely magical and we thank Mauro again for this absolutely breathtaking experience.

This tour was packed with lots of fun and a very knowledgeable driver (Mauro). I would definitely recommend this tour!! Also no waiting in line at Quinta de regialera. Thank you for a fantastic trip and all the beautiful stops for perfect photo ops!

The BEST Day in Sintra!!!!

Wow - where do I begin?! This tour was fantastic. Mauro was very kind and helpful, answering my questions prior to the trip, and picked us up from the hotel to get an early start on the day. I chose his private tour because I wanted to avoid going to places that did interest me as much, and tailor my day in Sintra to what I wanted to see. Mauro was truly knowledgeable about his hometown, and made interesting stops along the way (which you would never do with a group tour). My boyfriend was starting to get hangry half-way through our palace stop, so he adjusted our lunch reservation (arranged by him at a local restaurant) to suit his needs! The second half of the day was spent on the coast, and we really felt like Mauro was a friend by the end of the day - not someone we just met. I highly recommend his tour, and will be sending our friends & family his way. Many thanks, again!
