Really just had a driver, not tour guide

Tour guide really was nothing more than a driver. Thank goodness I had Rick Steves Portugal guide to help figure what I was seeing. Info in tour description incorrect, e.g., only 20 minutes in Batalha vs. 1.5 hours in description. It’s a beautiful monastery with several buildings but one would never know that or get to experience it on this tour. Lots of driving to get to the 4 places, plus additional pickup in Cascais. We 6 clients toured in van and those in back could not hear driver/guide if he spoke. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t take a Viator tour and instead go on our own to Óbidos, so just one place.

Fatima is a must see sight even for non-Catholics. It was a moving experience. Nazare was also a fantastic town with excellent scenery. The driver/guide was outstanding. Definitely a five star tour.

Found each place interesting, and didn't require much time to see. Obidos and Nazare are both dominated by people trying to sell all kinds of souvenirs. Can't blame them for that, but it detracts from the experience of both places. A word about the tour guide, David, a man with the patience of a saint. There were two other tourists beside my husband and myself. We were picked up in Cascais, then they were picked up in Lisbon. They wanted to change the music on the radio, didn't want to eat in the restaurant where David made arrangements and wanted o be taken back to Lisbon first rather than allowing David to leave us at Cascais which would have made more sense. They claimed to need this to catch a plane, but upon arrival , said they needed to shop. This resulted in David driving us in the afternoon tragic, which took two hours. Then he had to drive all the way back to Lisbon where he lives. Can't believe the prima donnas could be so demanding. Glad my husband gave him a big tip.

Wir hatten das Glück nur zu viert zu sein. Fatima war beeindruckend. Am schönsten war es in Nazare. Die Aussicht von oben war atemberaubend. Diese Tour ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Unser Guide war auch super sympathisch.
