Overview

What a complete mixup

The ad on Viator said this excursion was 3 hours - 2pm to 5pm. On this basis we booked the Glexbus from Lisbon departing Peniche at 5.50pm. When we got to the pier we were told the time on thf island was 3 hours - add to that the boat trip and we would not be back in Peniche until 6.15pm. We tried yo book another bus but they were all booked out. So we had abandon the tour. What acomplete waste of money. The deacription on Viator was very misleading and it ended in a big waste of money. I have been on quite a few Viator tours as and havr never exoerienced a balls-up as bad as this one. Viator really need to make sure their tour description is more accurate. Very disappointed !!!!

Our product description says: Enjoy a different day on this 4 to 5h mini cruise where we will take you to see extreme beauty places along the coast of Peniche. Upon arriving at the island you can walk the trails; take a boat tour of the caves (10€); visit Fort St. John the Baptist or stop by the Duque de Bragança Lighthouse. The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas, and Farlhão islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified the Berlengas as a “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands. Very often dolphins come to pay us a visit and swim by boat! Drones Forbidden VIATOR modified the description without our knowledge or permission. We requested that they return the correct description, but so far this has not been done. email copy below: "Hello Tiago, I would like to follow up with you after our conversation. Thank you for contacting Viator Supplier Support. Your product appears differently on Viator.com because our writing team created exclusive content for your product to increase its exposure and hopefully generate more bookings in the future!" ONCE AGAIN WE APOLOGIZE, although the error was not on our part.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because 5 hours on this island was too much. 2 would have been great. The restaurant was mostly without service, and at lunch had NO FOOD. They also did not let us use their toilets! The public WCs outside were disgusting and without toilet paper or soap. So, overall, tour company, make it shorter, don't misrepresent this as a glass-bottomed boat because that makes people resaonably assume they can sit somewhere in a glass-bottomed space and LOOK outside (not the case here), and please don't call it a guided tour because nothing was guided. Now, if you want to walk over the island for 5 hours on your own, that's a different story.

Hello good afternoon, We apologize, but we cannot respond to the restaurant or public bathrooms. Does your review really refer to our company? Our custumers usualy have 3 hours in the island. Our catanaran actually has a section dedicated to underwater viewing, where passengers can see the bottom of the sea. We also don't offer guided tours on the island. Probably you went in a different company, and make the review in our. Never the less, we are sorry about all the inconvenience best regards

L’isola Berlenga è stupenda Il mare cole smeraldo e trasparentissimo, i percorsi ben segnalati e la Fortezza e il contesto in cui è inserita sono una meraviglia. Il tempo a disposizione è stato sufficiente per vedere tutto.
