The Captain will choose the best reef destination for snorkeling based on the marine conditions of the day. There are several possible reef locations you may visit: Sand Key, Rock Key, Eastern Dry Rocks, and Western Sambo, just to name a few.

Can I participate in the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae if I've never snorkeled before?

Absolutely! The experienced and CPR-certified crew will give you detailed instructions as you sail out to the Living Coral Reef. They will go over the best practices and safe snorkel procedures for your day at the reef.

Can I participate in the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae if I do not know how to swim?

All participants must know how to swim. The tour takes you about 7 miles offshore and there will not be a place for you to touch or stand while snorkeling. All guests will receive flotation devices for their safety.

What equipment is provided during the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae?

Mask, snorkel, buoyancy compensator, and fins for snorkeling are provided. You are more than welcome to bring your own gear if you wish. Wetsuits can be rented seasonally for $15 per person payable on the date of travel.

Are there shaded seating areas on the boat during the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae?

Yes, but the space is limited in the shaded areas.

Are there restrooms and showers onboard during the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae?

Yes - All vessels are equipped with restrooms and a fresh-water rinse for guest use.

Be sure to bring a valid, Gov't-issued ID, a towel, bathing suit, refillable water bottle, a waterproof camera, and snacks/lunch (optional). (Reef-safe sunscreen is available complimentary onboard.)

Can I bring my own food/drink on the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae?

Yes - You are more than welcome to bring food with you, as long as it fits in a small soft cooler. No glass containers or bottles, please. Water and soda are available before you snorkel and beer and wine are available after you finish snorkeling.

Can I join the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae if I do not wish to snorkel?

Yes. Snorkeling is not required, although the ticket price is the same for everyone.

What happens to the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae in cases of bad weather?

The Captain will assess the weather and should the Captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. In case of cancellation, you may reschedule or receive a refund.

Can I bring a pet with me on the Key West Snorkel and Sunset Sail: Rum n' Reggae?

Only official service animals are allowed. Guests with a service animal must be in possession of the animal at all times. Due to the nature of Fury tours, guests and service animals may be required to remain on the boat for the entirety of the tour.

What To Expect

Make your way to the departure point, making sure to arrive 30 minutes prior to your booked departure time; departure time varies seasonally according to the timing of the sunset.

Set sail for one of Key West's most popular attractions: North America's only living coral reef. Once you arrive, get a briefing from the staff and slip on your mask, fins, and snorkel. Descend the "stairway to the sea" and explore the underwater world, which includes types of coral and marine life endemic to the waters of Key West.

Back on the boat, sip complimentary rum punch, beer, wine, and sparkling wine. Watch the sun sink toward the horizon and jam to reggae beats as you head back to the marina for drop-off.

They called 4 hours prior to cancel. We had to call and play tag on the phone for a full refund. A refund will not be issued until they confirm with company. We had no time to reschedule or book another experience but saw another 1/2 dozen boats sailing off from company that same evening.

Hello, Stephanie. We very much regret we didn’t get you out on the water with us. The reason we do not automatically refund or automatically request third party refunds is because we try to reschedule the guests whenever possible. If not on the same tour on a different day, we will rebook to a different tour on the same day. The Rum & Reggae Snorkel was cancelled due to winds and conditions. This tour goes 7 miles off shore to the reef in the open Atlantic ocean. We did have four boats go out that night. Three went out on the Gulf side which is much much calmer than the Atlantic and one was our Commotion on the Ocean Live Music Sunset Sail that never loses sight of shore. If you had contacted us directly, rather than calling Viator, we could have given you options to have a safe and fun time on the water.

Don’t book it. I’ve done multiple tours comparable. This one felt boring. Staff barely interacted. Felt like ride there band back that’s it. No one in our group enjoyed it and it’s usually our favorite thing to do. Disappointing

This was the second time we booked through Fury, and each time I was impressed by the crew. The excursion wouldn’t have been nearly so much fun if not for their explicit and helpful instructions. Hard to have fun when things go wrong, but I knew they wouldn’t. And they didn’t. Not my first time snorkeling, but it was my first time in open water so it was appreciated. Everything was as promised: amazing to see the reef and fish, gorgeous sunset, plentiful drinks and the music was great. I’m halfway tempted to go again!

Saw many fish, small but beautiful! A group of over 50 fish right in front of me, they were not scared at all. A very exciting experience. Will come back to do it again, but probably not in January again. The water was not cold but it was cold after coming out of water.

Good trip, but sail was not raised. Cap't said too much wind...(Saw many sailing) it was a 6' jump into the ocean, and a nerve wracking return to the boat via metal stairs being pounded w waves and no assistance. Good rum punch, efficient crew, not much variety or color at reef.

If it is to rough out there, you can get a full refund if you don’t want to go last minute before boarding. The rum punch was delicious the whole ride was an amazing experience. Just be mindful if you haven’t done research that this coral isn’t vibrant as in other places! Captain was absolutely amazing. He was awesome but be mindful when the Captain is talking just be quiet for like 5 minutes, it’s not that hard and takes time away from snorkeling for EVERYONE. They provide gear, and sunscreen as well as water. If you need a towel, bring one. Listen to the rules and you will have an AMAZING time. Definitely coming back again.
