Make your way on your own to Hurricane Hole Marina, where free parking is available. Learn the basics of equipment and safety, then follow your guide into the mangroves at an easy-going pace that’s well suited to all skill levels.
Watch for wildlife along the way: the mangroves are home to tropical fish, crabs, bright sea stars, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sponges, and a diverse range of sea birds. Every trip is different, but experienced guides trace routes through the best of the mangrove environment.
As you paddle, hear stories about the geological structure of the Florida Keys, and find out what makes them so unique in the United States. At the end of your mangrove kayak trip, paddle back to home base, where you finish the day.

We had our kayaking eco-tour through the mangroves today and WOW! It was so beautiful and really informative. We learned about all the animals that live in the mangroves and how the mangroves themselves form. It was totally worth braving the winds across the channel! I can’t recommend this tour enough! Tall Rachel was amazing! You can tell she’s really passionate about the environment and her job! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all around!

We arrived in Key West during our cruise, took a 15 min uber to lazy dog. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. My 11 yo had zero problems getting in or out of the kayak. I would highly recommend to anyone. Our guide, Heather was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the ecosystem. It’s not just a tour, it’s an experience. If I could do 10 stars I would.

Tides are strong but the instructors are really good and they will guide you.

Great trip! We had perfect weather conditions and a fantastic guide. Jan was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. He made sure everyone got to have the best experience possible. He also took (and shared) pictures of all of us along the way which a nice touch too. Mentioned the perfect weather because we were able see quite a bit: snails, nursing sharks, jelly fish, conch and even a manta ray swam by! I would highly recommend this tour.

So much fun! Going thru the mangrove tunnels was a blast! We even got to see a manatee which is rare. The kayaks are easy to maneuver- my 10 year old and I had no problems!

My youngest is going into Marine Biology for college and this was the birthday trip before HS Graduation! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would do it again. Fun, educational, active, and scenic.

Our kayak through the mangroves was truly a fun and educational trip. Our guide Ian talked about things we will see along the way and how the groves protect the areas. We saw and held a jelly fish & saw a bunch of nurse sharks. Ian was very pleasant and took his time answering questions. Would highly recommend the Lazy Dog Kayaking two hour tour.

This was an amazing experience! I highly recommend for families looking to do something else. Cici, our guide, was a genuine delight. She would get so excited to point out different things she saw, and we ended up seeing sharks, a snake, jellyfish and sea stars. I made my 12 year old ride in a kayak with me but he would have been fine in a boat on his own. Everyone in our party (from my 65 year old parents to my 10 year old daughter) loved it.
