Amazing hospitality. Comfortable lodge, very knowledgeable hosts. Accommodating to all our needs (help walking in icy spots). Viewing was great! We were able to get excellent Aurora pictures with our iPhones.

A way to see the aurora in the comfort of a lodge. We joined this venue the day we flew into Fairbanks. After 9 hours on a plane we did not want to sit for hours in a van looking for the aurora. After 5-6 hours of rest, Michi, the owner picked us up from our hotel around 9:30 pm. The tour began with a slight hiccup... the van developed a flat tire. Michi handled this very professionally, hired a back-up van and driver and had us on our way about a half hour later. Upon arrival at the lodge, it was cozy and warm with cookies and hot coffee, tea and chocolate provided. Aurora activity began almost immediately upon our arrival (KP index 7) and remained active entire time we were at the lodge. Michi provided instructions on how to use night mode on an iphone to take pictures. He kept a look out and directed us to the best location on the property to see the aurora thru out the night. He seemed quite knowledgeable as was able to predict when the aurora would peak. He was a great host. Rest room was available. Overall, a great way to end the day upon your arrival in Fairbanks. I recommend this tour.

Great experience! Owner was so kind, and had a very awesome place to view the lights! I also loved the pick up and drop off.

I would highly recommend this tour company! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, comfortable, and truly magical.
We were picked up right on time from the Westmark in Fairbanks and taken about 50 minutes outside the city to a perfect viewing location. The lodge was warm and welcoming, comfortably accommodating around 20–25 people, and stocked with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate so we could relax while waiting for the aurora to appear.
And when the aurora borealis showed up…wow. It did not disappoint! Watching the lights dance across the sky was absolutely breathtaking.
What made the experience even more special was our guide, Michi. He was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. He kept a close eye on the skies and let us know exactly when to step outside for the best viewing, which made all the difference.
This tour struck the perfect balance of comfort and adventure. If you’re heading to Fairbanks and hoping to see the northern lights, this is absolutely the way to do it!

Michi is a great host. He is knowledgeable and very helpful. He knew most everything about the Northern lights. Was very helpful with our iPhones for pictures. I loved his lodge.

Householder is a nice person who will teach you how to set the phone setting for taking photo of northern light.
Daniela_R, Feb 2026
Michi has a lot of knowledge, he is so friendly and his yurt was pretty, cozy, comfortable and warm
Michi knows a lot about the lights, and how to locate it
Marcia_B, Feb 2026
Seeing the Northern Lights was a failure due to the weather but Michi gave it a gallent effort. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell he has a lot of experience.
TaeDong_K, Feb 2026
A great lodge to watch aurora, with comfortable and cozy rooms. The tripod really helps to get beautiful pictures.
Jena_B, Feb 2026
Michi picked us up on time at our hotel. We drove up to his propery which isn't too far out. He has a really nice place. The viewing rooms were warm and comfortable. We did get to see some Aurora activities. Would definitely recommend!

It is approximately a 45 minute ride in his big beautiful van out to the cabin in the middle of the woods

Mitchi is a great host! He is very knowledgeable and will look out for the aurora for you while you wait in his comfy rustic lodge enjoying hot drink and snacks. We had a great view of the aurora when compared to other spots that we went. Ask Mitchi to take you a professional photograph when the aurora is strong, it’s worth it when compared to the one we took with our phone.
We are very happy with this tour and would strongly recommend it to anyone.

We had an amazing time at the Aurora Husky Lodge! Michi is incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about showing guests the best possible Northern Lights, which we really appreciated. The lodge was super cozy, with displays from his days as a dog musher, and he even shared videos that helped us learn more about the aurora. The hospitality was outstanding. Highly recommended. Thanks Michi-san!

Wear warm clothes
Owner was well-versed about how to look at the night sky, and as a whole, to make the experience great for all of us
Joyed seeing the movie about dog race of 2018, and him telling us about his experiences with dogs lead teams

Well organized . Great hospitality . Was very cold in December and the lodge provided a warm experience. The Northern Lights was a highlight of our trip.

After 2-3 days of missing the Aurora views, we finally decided to go with Mitchi and we were really glad. He has this great cabin which gives you a near 360 degree view of the sky. He also kept us really informed about when to go out and watch for the right ones between 11 PM - 2 PM which had like the best flares. I took my own videos and pictures where we were there.
The cabin was well stocked with food, snacks for both adults and kids. He also takes pictures for a fee and you can rent tripods too. His fee is slightly below other companies which is also a good thing. If you are planning for a good experience, a guided tour all subject to the fat that you have a clear sky which is the big factor for viewing, I’d recommend Mitchi.

The lodge was so comfy and cozy! Lots of hot bev options and the lodge was kept warm with wood. Michi was so friendly and drove us safely. We got to see some aurora

My father has always dreamt of being able to see the northern lights. We traveled to Alaska looking for an opportunity to see them, and a comfortable environment to enjoy them. I booked this tour with Michi after reading all of the positive reviews, and after having this experience they were all well earned. Michi and his wife were very welcoming hosts, Michi did everything he could to get us in a position to see the lights, and luckily we were able to do so. The cabin is secluded and comfortable, so there isn't light pollution spoiling the view. Definitely a worthwhile experience, my father and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. In fact, my father wants to come back to Alaska to view the lights again, and he definitely wants to do it with Michi!

Michi was great! He is very knowledgeable and nice. He really wants you to see the lights. It unfortunately didn't happen on our trip. The clouds didnt cooperate. The lodge is very nice, clean. There is a nice deck to go out on. I would recommend this excursion even tho the auroras didn't work out for us.
Gordon_J, Oct 2025
Michi was great. Very friendly. Happy to show you how to set your camera up to get the best pictures. Beautiful lodge. I would recommend highly.

Excellent effort to see the Northern Lights. Nice ride, beautiful cabin and our hosts were generous and educational. Thank you!
Rich_B, Sep 2025
Our guide was very professional. Very knowledgeable and informative. He helped me get the right settings for my camera that gave me amazing photos. We had a great night and even saw the northern lights. Bring a tripod if you have a camera. Much longer exposure possible. iPhones work great too. These photos from the iPhone.
Gai_B, Sep 2025
Exceeded expectations. Friendly host who is very passionate about showing people the northern lights. Would totally recommend.

First, I want to say the Japanese couple that ran the tour were incredibly nice. They were prompt with their pickup and drop off times. They have a lovely house with a great log cabin vibe. They showed a video explaining how the northern lights are formed in a very scientific manner. They provided coffee, tea, and some snacks for the evening. We started watching for the northern lights around 11pm. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy the entire evening. The only glimpse we could get was from a camera photo with a small green line or arc. It was like this until 2am when we taken back to our hotels. There were 12 people in total so being the first picked up and last dropped off, it was about 2 hours or riding time. I would recommend this trip if you are not very mobile, or do not have a rental type vehicle of your own. We felt the experience was a bit pricey for what we got and probably could have seen the same skyline just taking our rental car. Overall it was a good experience and we learned a lot, just probably not for us again.

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, we had a lovely time. Michi was a very accommodating host and tried everything within his power to enhance our experience. The lodge was quaint and perfect for what it was. The only thing that would have increased our experience would have been to really see the northern lights. Michi tried everything in his power to make our excursion enjoyable.

Husky lodge is a cute and nice place for viewing the Northern Lights. The surroundings of the lodge is very pretty and scenic too. Michi, the host of the lodge, added norther light viewing room with large windows and external deck for customers to enjoy the light comfortably. The lodge was very clean and homy. Michi prepared cookies, teas, and coffee for the viewers. He also works very hard to help us to find the lights with her tools and camera.
The weather was not good on the night when we were there. We had an opportunity to cancel the tour, but we still decided to go. With Michi's help, we managed to take photos of the northern light through the heavy clouds. The lights was very strong that night, it has bright green and purple. Unfortunately, the lights was blocked by the heavy clouds.
We still enjoyed the experiences at the lodge. Michi is very nice. He takes very good care of his customers. We will visit the lodge again if we return to Fairbanks.
