Pioneer Park Tours and Tickets

It’s free to visit Pioneer Park, but some individual attractions need a ticket. Rides on the Crooked Creek and Whiskey Island Railroad cost US$3 for adults and US$2 for kids and seniors, while Roela's Carousel is US$3 for all. The Big Stampede Show costs US$4 for adults and US$2 for children.

Pioneer Park has a wide range of attractions, including volleyball and bocce courts, a 3-hole disc golf course, a playground, and a merry-go-round. There's also a narrow-gauge train that operates in the summer, plus an art gallery, a folk school, and a square- and round-dance center.

Yes, there is a seasonal (May–September) dinner restaurant in Pioneer Park, the long-running Alaska Salmon Bake. Menu highlights include fire-grilled wild Alaska salmon, along with beer-battered halibut or Denali cod, snow crab, and prime rib. Reservations are not required for groups of less than 15 people.

Pioneer Park is open daily throughout the year from 6am until midnight. However, most of the park's attractions are seasonal, only operating between the Memorial Day Weekend in late May and the Labor Day Weekend in early September. It’s best to check individual attractions for details.

During the warmer months, Pioneer Park hosts events such as the Golden Heart Revue, a musical comedy staged at the Palace Theater, and the Big Stampede Show, which takes place four times daily in the summer. Additional events are held at the Centennial Center Theater and the Gazebo.

The easiest way to get to Pioneer Park is by driving—it’s only about a 5-minute drive west of downtown Fairbanks. You can also take the Red Line bus from the Transit Center to the Airport Way Access Road and Wilbur Street, and then walk for about 15 minutes to the park.
