Our guide Tony was amazing & I would ask for him for any other excursions any time⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Also enjoyed hospitality of our host Hoke & his awesome viewing cabin👍. We heard all day that we had slim chances of seeing lights since it was such a cloudy day….we went anyway. The clouds rolled out at 11:15 & beautiful arora show started. Amazing star night as well, with many moving satellites, great constellations & good show from Jupiter & Mars.
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!

Savvy was a great tour guide. Lady Aurora really showed herself!! Fantastic night! Great information given. It was about -25 so with the rental gear only my face was cold. I went inside and warmed up when needed. Thanks for a PERFECT night!

We had a fantastic night on this tour! Our guide, Tony, was absolutely wonderful. He was so thoughtful and made sure to take care of every single person in the group. You could really tell he cares about his guests. The cabin we went to was perfectly located and very warm and cozy, which made waiting for the lights so comfortable. And the aurora itself? Absolutely breathtaking! It was truly a memorable night. Highly recommended!

Savvy and Greg were awesome. They were knowledgeable, friendly and took great care of us. They helped with taking pictures and shared their experiences. I would do it again.

We like our tour guide Kathy. She is very professional and super friendly. The lodge owner Mok is super nice and very knowledgeable.
We understand watching Aurora activities is a hit or miss. But we felt disappointed with our tour company Alaska Wildlife. They could have cancelled our tour in advance knowing there would not be any aurora activity on Nov6 night, with all their tools predicting aurora activities in their hands. Or they could have told us to reschedule to another night. But they did not.

Dress warmly. Be prepared to stay up past midnight. The AB got better as the sun set. Really a great place to see the AB.

This company must be the best one for seeing the northern lights. I can't say enough good things about our experience. They were prompt in picking us up in their comfortable van to take us to their viewing location, their facility was so warm and comfortable while waiting for the possible northern lights to appear, they showed an informative video about the northern lights, they had snacks and drinks, board games, and were just very friendly to visit with while we were waiting. We weren't actually expecting to see any lights because it was cloudy and misty, but we were hoping it would clear up enough to see the sky. They even had a bonfire going outside that we sat around for quite a while and had a great time visiting. I highly recommend this company for northern lights viewing.

Tour had some issues and had to make some last minute changes. Guide tried her best to accommodate us
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Hi John,
We are unclear on what changes you are referring to. Your tour experienced no changes at all. We do understand that it was a cloudy night and no Aurora was visible, and that is always regrettable. If you have further concerns about your tour, please call our office anytime during our operating hours.

Terrific guides. Very informative and helpful.
Cabin was lovely. Went out with this company 3 nights in a row. Highly recommend.
ROSHAN_D, Mar 2025
The transportation and the time allowed is good. The place for viewing was cozy and warm. Even though we saw the aurora in the first hour, the tour allowed the time stated expecting an explosion of colors later. The guide was respectful.
Nancy_L, Mar 2025
The weather forecast was for 80% cloud coverage. Boy were they wrong. We were clouded in at Fairbanks but we saw an exploding aurora up at Mok’ lodge.
James_M, Mar 2025
Not a good aurora viewing venue. Only about 5 miles from Fairbanks - lots of light pollution. Viewing deck faces south, should face north.
Think high school cafeteria type of venue rather than “cozy lodge”.

Our driver Gina was great; friendly, knowledgeable, on time. The lecture was excellent. Cookies were terrible. Otherwise very good experience. We didn’t get to seethe aurora but we had fun and our driver was happy to take us home early. She took a detour and showed us the pipeline and that was great.
Ernest_W, Feb 2025
Bring hand warmers, and dress to stay outdoors. Excellent northern view, large deck. Informative, knowledgeable host.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Thank you for your review and choosing Alaska Wildlife Guide for your Aurora Lodge tour!
Charles_G, Oct 2024
Presentation about the Aurora Borealis was very informative. Nice facility. Unfortunately, there was little activity and cloud cover so no viewing of the lights.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Thank you for your review and choosing Alaska Wildlife Guide for your Aurora Lodge Viewing tour. Mother Nature can be fickle, but we are glad you had a good time despite the lights not showing up.

Pick did not turn up. No communication now awaiting refund. Very disappointed and wasted valuable time in Fairbanks. Waited around for over an hour👎
libby_v, Sep 2024
We lucked out with nice temps and no rain. Had fun trying to capture the lights. Staff really nice showing us how to set our cell phones for optimum shots. Lodge was beautiful (sofas, clean bathroom, drinks) and comfortable. Driver/ guide Siena made the experience a lot of fun too.
julia_k, Sep 2024
Kathy and Mook educated us on what the Northern Lights are and the science behind the Aurora Boriallis. They suggested Apps that help to know the likelihood of the lights appearing and when. We enjoyed the cookies, hot beverages, jazz and the cozy setting. We didn't get lucky with spotting the lights- cloudy night, grrrrr - but had a good time anyway.
George_H, Aug 2024
Great experience. Saw a nice display of the aurora. Sage was very informative and explained what causes the aurora.
IG_A, Apr 2024
Knowledgeable driver and great team at the lodge. There is help to take pictures with your camera or with your mobile phone. I took this tour on my birthday and the northern lights made appearances! Great time!
Rebecca_H, Mar 2024
Our group of 12 arrived at a beautiful lodge atop Cleary Summit. We walked into a large darkened room STUFFED with people! I counted over 34 people crammed into the space. There were hot drinks and cookies available. There was a large viewing deck out back. The host said very little, so we were on our own to know when the lights were outside. He even seemed overwhelmed with the number of people. I don't know what happened, but this was described as a "small group tour" and it was far from that! Fortunately, we saw a great light show and since it started late, we were allowed to stay an extra 40 minutes. Great experience except for the huge number of people. 4/5 stars for that reason.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Rebecca,
Apologies for any confusion, but the "small group tour" refers to our van size. This tour does indeed go to a lodge that other companies can book tours with. The week of your tour happened to be the busiest week of the entire season for all tour operators in the area, and Fairbanks was absolutely overrun with tourists! We are glad you were able to enjoy your time at the lodge, however. November through February are slower times for the aurora tours in this area. September and March will be the busiest months. Thank you for taking our tour, and for taking the time to provide feedback!

I could see wonderful Aurora with this tour. It was amazing!
The lodge was very clean and comfortable.
Everything was smooth.
I recommend this tour to everyone.
Nancy_L, Mar 2024
It’s a lovely, cozy cottage to watch the Aurora from. Sadly, the Aurora didn’t make much of an appearance last night, but that’s not the fault of the owner.
Nancy_L, Mar 2024
Kathy made us all feel so welcomed and drove very safely. Seeing the lights was fantastic and (I forget his name) but the man who ran the program took such fun photos of everybody and explained everything about Aurorae.
Jorge_R, Mar 2024
The actual aurora lights. It was an experience I will never forget...The personnel at the lodge was very helpful and pleasant to work with...
Carrie_N, Mar 2024
Crazy expensive! I’d suggest doing it on your own, save the money! You can go to the same viewing spot on your own and not pay $149!
Tricia_D, Feb 2024
Nicole, my guide picked me up at hotel and drove me out to Aurora point to the lodge, she was wonderful! The lodge was cozy and they offered complimentary refreshments and the bathroom was nice and clean. We viewed a video and listened to a short very informative lecture on the workings of the aurora. There was a cozy fire outside so we could stay warm while viewing. It was a wonderful experience through and through.
Nancy_A, Feb 2024
The experience was disappointing, Jared drove us to the lodge, showed us his impressive camera and photos, but sat inside and did not take any pictures of the guests.
Czarina_Q, Jan 2024
Jessica was a 5 star guide! She was very professional and warm. She picked me up from my hotel right on time and explained a little about the city and viewing conditions for the aurora. I appreciated her friendly demeanor and expertise.
The lodge was very comfortable and cozy, with hot drinks and cookies. The host also provided wifi to entertain us while we waited.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to see any lights due to the weather conditions. I wish the operating company had cancelled the tour to save us money and time since our main goal was to see the lights (it seemed very unlikely given the cloud forecast).
Teesha_B, Nov 2023
Beautiful sky’s and wonderful cabin. We came for a quick trip from California and it was well worth it. Safe driver on snowy roads and wonder place with friendly owner opening his home to watch the sky from.
Kira_M, Sep 2023
It was a new experience for us Arizonans and though we didn’t see too many colors it was still nice to see and capture. It was very relaxing and a nice ambiance at the lodge. Thank you for a great experience. I’d love to go again to see about capturing more pictures of the northern lights
