Their dogs are family and whether they compete in 1000-mile races or go for camping trips around the Chena River Valley, they have many stories and adventures to share!

We work exclusively with local, passionate mushers who view their dog teams as their family, and you will have the chance to understand this incredible sport on your hourlong ride through the snowy forest. You will ride on a genuine dogsled, either seated or standing, as the team of 8 dogs swings through the forest with you and your guide at a comfortable but thrilling pace. You will also have the chance to see the dog kennels, and a replica of a dog-sled race checkpoint, where the competitive mushers stop for fuel and rest on their long winter races. On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals.

We are on a ridgetop filled with trees and sunlight, far enough up to see Denali Mountain on a clear day! Founded by Susan Butcher (4-time Iditarod champion), Trail Breaker Kennel is an iconic piece of Alaskan culture. The kennel is conveniently located a mile from the Fairbanks International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Fairbanks. Alaskan Dog Sledding is the perfect experience for dog-lovers and outdoor adventurers alike.

This is your Signature adventure, an interactive sledding activity, we prefer to have people stand on the runners and drive the dogs, with us on a tag sled as guide throughout the experience. Though sitting in the Sled can be accommodated as needed, especially for children and seniors.

This is a 1.5 mile mini mushing activity that circles our property through black spruce, alders, and birch trees. The actual sledding time is 15-20 minutes. Full activity time is 1-1.5 hours. In the beginning we will go over how to ride on and in your tandem dog sleds. Once we have this out of the way we can create some noise and meet the dogs! While you enjoy kisses and hugs from your loving huskies we will harness and hook up the team. Once hooked up we will head out onto your trails around the property with great views from high on a ridge. There are ample opportunities for photos along the way and plenty of cuddle time when we return to the kennel. The Kennel visit will take place either before or after your sled ride, dependent on weather, the dogs, and your guide's schedule.
