I’ll start with the only negative experience.. we were on ATV’s instead of sleds. That’s only because it’s so early in the year and they don’t have enough snow for the sleds, which isn’t their fault at all! Now, on to all of the AMAZING parts. First, the staff and Owners were incredibly welcoming, and their facility is beautifully maintained! We had our own costs, boots, etc., but decided to let them outfit us with everything. BEST DECISION WE MADE. You MUST wear their boots. Sure, they aren’t the prettiest things, but your feet will thank you! My feet are always cold, and for once, they were warm! The bibs and coat were incredibly warm as well. Seriously, I can’t stress this enough, let them dress you! Our musher was Emily, and she was wonderful! Her love of her dogs is so evident, and she was very easy to talk to during our ride. She was very informative of all things mushing! Overall, we had a wonderful time! We would definitely go again!

Pretty cool doing this experience with a Yukon Quest champion. Matt was a great guide! My family could have done this for much longer than the 30 minutes we were out there. The dogs were awesome, and the experience is really one of a kind for a Southern family.

This was an amazing experience. The musher went at just the right speed so we could really enjoy the surroundings.

This is a MUST do experience!!!! We had a blast they had all the warm outerwear and the Bunny Boots add to the experience!

We enjoyed the experience. Everyone was very nice to us and they answered all of our questions. It was really fun and the dogs were super kind and social and good with children. The dogs were well treated and happy. We would recommend this experience.

We loved it! The dogs were amazing, friendly and did an awesome teamwork. Willow, Laura and the driver Christian and all the staff were friendly.
Renato_P, Apr 2026
Laura and her team of dogs were awesome! She was awesome taking the time to explain her relationship with her pack and explained the personalities of each dog. She took the time to take great pictures and we were able to meet and greet each dog. Thank you Laura for giving us a phenomenal experience with you and the fam. Also shout out to Rod's Alaskan Guide Services as they make sure you have all the proper attire to make sure you have a comfortable ride with Laura and her team.

The experience is great but our musher was rude. There isn't any explanation of the history of mushing or anything abput the dogs before the tour so we were asking questions during the tour and he was annoyed with our questions. I recommend you try this with someone else more pleasant.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
We have lots of mushing history and dog sledding memorabilia in our guest welcome center for guests to view. We don't advertise a pre tour portion of education, but staff are happy to answer any questions before the tour.
We actually ask guests to ask questions while on tour. This way, the guests receive the information they want to hear about.
Our guides are typically happy to answer any questions about mushing.

It was so much fun! It was my grandson first visit to Alaska. He wanted to go dog sledding. Our guide was so nice and upbeat! We very much enjoyed everything!!!

Wonderful guide and lovely dogs. Experience the wilderness and the crew that makes the magic. Highly recommend to go!

We had a blast doing the 30 mins dog sledding with Joe and his Motley Crew team at Rod’s Adventures. They provided extra warm gear if needed. The time goes by quick, but well worth the experience. The dogs seem happy, Joe answered all of our random questions. They are an experienced team and we love that they hire out actual local teams. This was the highlight of our trip!

Our guide Ashley was awesome and the dogs were very cute and ready to go. Definitely an experience worth trying!

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide, Cole, was very friendly and personable. His team of dogs was great - some super friendly and also goofy. We were able to stop and get some great pics and to interact with the dogs. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful experience. The facility was clean, the additional warm clothes to use were wonderful, and our musher with his dog team were delightful. It was obviously he loved his team and the pups were a lot of fun to watch. It was one of the first things I told friends and family about when I got home.
Jennifer_F, Mar 2026
The dog owners really know their pups! One of the lead dogs was an Iditarod champion, and a super sweet girl. Was a beautiful day and we stayed warm in the provided coat and pants.
Todd_Y, Mar 2026
Joe’s team of huskies seemed so well trained and friendly. He shared a lot of knowledge from his professional dog sledding background. Fun experience
Yesenia_D, Mar 2026
This was a fun experience. We did a 30 minute mushing session, which is just as described. The service hires experienced dog sled team owners who take you on the tour so you sit back and relax. You stop midway through the track to pet the dogs and get a few photo opportunities, so while the experience is 30 minutes the dog mushing portion is much shorter than that. For us, being new and just here to the memories it was great!

Dog sledding is what everyone need to experience in Fairbanks. With the right company and right mushers...Luther and Deke, you will have a fantastic time. Loved it!
Jessica_W, Mar 2026
This adventure honestly exceeded our expectations! We truly appreciated that the company provides gear, and this was one of the main reasons we booked. Our guide, Kristen Eckwright, was so warm and patient, sharing so much about it each of her dogs. They were THE sweetest we’ve ever interacted with and had so much personality (thinking of you Holly(wood)!). Highly recommend and if you’re lucky, you’ll be paired with Kristen and her family of dogs.

Had an amazing time dog sledding with my friend! The tour we booked was for 30 minutes, and we stopped halfway during the path to take photos/get to know the dogs. Our musher Jen was extremely friendly and you can tell she loves all of her babies. All of the dogs were super nice and fun to interact with; we enjoyed seeing how much they loved running and working as a team. We were also able to learn a few basic commands that Jen taught us to control the dogs' direction. The path that we took was very snowy, which made it look magical. It was very cool to participate in a living Alaskan tradition, and we could not have asked for a more genuine and unique excursion. We would highly recommend it!

Excellent guides! Use all the gear they provide to stay warm! Cover your forehead and face! Dogs were happy and friendly!

We had an amazing time doing a sled dog tour with our family! The cabin is beautiful, the process was so smooth, the mushers were out going and friendly; as were the sled dogs!

Must do when in Fairbanks. Emily and Joe were great! They outfit you with gear if you need warm clothes.
Laura_Y, Mar 2026
The experience was amazing, to be honest, I'm a dog lover and I heard some bad stories from the old days about dog sledding (let's say about 15-20 years ago), so I was a little skeptical about this. But after I got there, it was truly just wonderful seeing those dogs were treated very well and happy. The place is very organized and friendly, and we got assigned to our guide, Joe Weber, he's amazing as well, we had so fun petting each one of the dogs, definitely recommending this :)
Lara_K, Mar 2026
We had a great time. They kept us warm, and it was fun to learn about and meet the dogs. Beautiful scenery.
George_G, Mar 2026
Very unique and relaxing. The dogs were very friendly and they followed their leader. It was interesting and educational to understand the dogs and how they train them. You can pet the dogs. Very cool.
Aswin_G, Mar 2026
Emma and her pups were amazing. Told us all about their stories, helped us take a lot of pics. Most adorable dogs ever. An amazing experience for sure
Paul_L, Mar 2026
The operators take good care of their dogs and our trail had only a few bumps in it ( but that's nature!) Bring your warmest clothing & boots, but if you are missing something they have spares ( even a 4x 'bib' for me!) Not goggles though, you'd have to purchase it.
Gary_P, Mar 2026
Jimmy and Laura were awesome as lead mushers. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The dogs were also super friendly and a joy to be around. I highly recommend this experience.
