Adrian did a fantastic job. The hike was pretty strenuous but he stopped like every 10 to 15 minutes and talked for a while about the nature and the plant life. I especially liked when he stopped at berry patches and we got to pick berries and eat them! That made the hike very doable even for older (fit) adults, but at the same time made it a lot of fun. The views at the top of the mountain were stellar. It was probably the best hike of my life. Thank you Adrian for being super engaging, informative and fun!

Moderately hard hike with steep,gravel incline to reach top. Derek was an excellent, knowledgeable and very personable guide, considerate of us as recreational hikers. We went off trail in parts and he was open to us hiking on trails he had never hiked before. He made the hike into an adventure that was both enjoyable and challenging.

Not for the faint of heart, but a very rewarding experience. I think this hike is not a normal hike, we had the trail to ourselves, and it was a challenging climb. Adrian made sure the pace was acceptable to all, but as we climbed to the top - the views were amazing. Very fun hike, glad we took the challenge to get there, and has an excellent guide that knew the area very well. Highly recommend this experience.

Beautiful hike! We saw some amazing views. We loved having a guide since we were unfamiliar with hiking in Alaska. Don set the pace according to our abilities and made sure we took the safest routes on the steepest areas. We learned about the plants and peaks in the area. We even made it above the tree line where we took a break and enjoyed the views. We really enjoyed our morning hike.

Super nice hike! Don was well versed in local fauna and general Denali info. The weather was fantastic, but Don was prepared with water, snacks, hiking poles, and rain jackets just in case. Lovely area, nice pace and just the right amount of time to see the sights.

What a wonderful hike we had with Derek as our guide. Derek was not only very knowledgeable, but also so very personable.

Adrian is a fantastic guide, skilled hiker, and is extremely knowledgeable of the area’s vegetation and wildlife! He was a great judge of when the group needed a rest break and always had something interesting to share at each rest stop. The hike was challenging and breath-taking. Awesome experience!

Booked a 5 hour hike into the mountains outside Denali. Adrian was our guide and as it worked out, my wife and I were the only 2 on the hike. Adrian was a wonderful guide, giving us a lot of info on the animals, plants, berries and fungi we saw throughout the hike. He also allowed us to decide on where we went and how far.
Sampled many of the wild berries we found along the way and saw ptarmigan and ground squirrels. Didn't see any large animals but did find some fresh moose tracks and bear scat. The scenery was fantastic and Adrian took us to some great viewpoints.
If you have a reasonable fitness level I would highly recommend this hike and even more highly recommend Adrian as a guide. He made it so much better.

Great morning hike with Jordan and 5 others besides us, fun group and Jordan was very informative on all aspects of the mountain, very knowledgeable re: safe vs unsafe plants to eat, very much worth the time and $$$!

This is a great way to see great views of the park while learning about the plants, animals and people of Alaska. Our guide Jordan was amazing and had us taste many of the plants that Alaskans use for food. Although we went up about 1,100 feet it felt easy and each view was more beautiful than the last one.

We hiked Sugarloaf with Jade as our guide and with Abby as the guide-in-training. Jade catered the hike to our exact needs and skill level, and taught us so much about the wildlife and terrain. We felt completely safe and comfortable and had a fantastic time. Thank you both so much!

Great hike with Don who made sure the group hiked at its comfortable pace with stops to take in the beautiful views as we climbed in elevation. Even with some moderately low clouds the vistas were impressive. We were picked up and dropped off very timely, with good communication the day prior confirming everything. Highly recommend.

This is a fun hike with definite elevation involved. Be sure to take rain gear and use the trekking poles offered by the company. You will be thankful.

We had a good experience, the tour guide provided guidance and walking sticks, he explained about the landscape and the fauna and flora of the place. The trail was a good one, and at the top a beatifull view. Jason was a great tour guide.

We went on a five hour guided hike. We were really blown away by the level of professionalism and educational knowledge that Jordan, our guide, was able to provide. He knew so much about the local environment, the culture, plants, trees, shrubs and even fungus. He was also able to tell us much of the history of Denali park. We were able to hike from just above the river all the way above the tree line and see great views of the surrounding area. We were also very impressed by the level of education the guides receive in the way of safety and field medicine. You never want to use those skills, but it is invaluable that your guides have them. We would definitely recommend Northern Epic to anyone wanting an “off the beaten path” small group individualized hike.

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing hiking tour in Denali National Park! The day of our tour, it ended up being just the two of us, but the tour wasn't canceled, and we were so grateful for that. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, sharing fascinating details about the park's history, wildlife, and landscape. The fall colors were in full bloom, painting the mountains with vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold – it was breathtaking! It felt like we had the entire park to ourselves, and the beauty of the scenery made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour!

We joined as a family of 4 and we all had such a great time. Derek was such a good guide. He made sure we all moved as a group safely. Part of the hike at the top was a bit challenging but the view was so rewarding. Derek was full of information about the plants, wildlife, and landscape. We had a very memorable time.

Trinidad was an excellent host and trail guide. He was very accommodating when our cruise itinerary changed and we had to change our pick up location. He then took us on a very enjoyable and informative hike. He did an excellent job of pacing it to match our abilities. We learned a lot about edible plants and sampled plenty of them. He is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. I highly recommend his tours.

Me and my daughter came here wanting to do a fun hike with beautiful views and this was perfect! We had Derek as our guide and he was very fun and kind and helpful. He had great knowledge about many plants and other parts of nature on the trail as well as helped us every part of the way up and down. We ended up making it to the top… however, he had many options for different skill levels. Overall it was an amazing experience for the books!!!! Do it! Bring plenty of water and make sure your shoes have good tread!!! (That would have made our trek a lot faster- several areas we slid and it slowed us down!)

We had a great 5 hour hike with Jordan! I love learning about the native flora and fauna - to me that's what a guide is for - and Jordan did not disappoint! He could name everything! And he could tell me what was safe to nibble on! I love foraging! Hiking poles were provided. It was a reasonably vigorous hike, but he would have taken an easier route if we had wanted. No complaints. It was a lovely way to spend our afternoon!
