Superb tour with details about the neighborhood’s history. We learned interesting facts about immigration into the US and we learned about the food. There were plenty of interesting stops with delicious food. Just note. This is not a small group tour. There were 30+ on our tour. That has it’s pros and cons, but overall I’d say it was a fun experience and the group size allowed you to meet a variety of people. Thank you Paula!
Paula was an amazing wealth of knowledge about everything not just the North End of Boston. She was so personable and truly has a gift for sharing information in a fun memorable way where the facts stay with you long after the tour is over. She loves history and that passion flows through to her listeners. The food stops were delicious and well thought out to align with the historical topics. If you take a history and food tour of Boston, take this one. You will not regret it.
Paula is a SUPER FANTASTIC guide and this foodie/history tour was absolutely the best choice! I was stuffed by the end of the tour - both with knowledge and amazing food. A well planned tour with appropriate portions-come to the feast!!!
Such an amazing tour! I went in thinking it was simply a food tour, but it was so much more than that. The history shared alongside each food stop made the experience even more enjoyable and fascinating. I loved getting to learn about the area while also experiencing the food. Highly recommend!
We have done a lot of food tours and this was by far the best. Our guide Paul was exceptional. Full of information and stories. Her background and years of experience in the neighborhood put her above and beyond any other guide we’ve ever had. The stops and food were as amazing as her stories. If you’re in Boston don’t miss this tour.
We enjoyed a wonderfully delicious and informative tour with Paula. She lives in the neighborhood and clearly knows the best spots for authentic Italian tastes. We were pleasantly surprised that two stops were seated in restaurants for pasta and pizza. Yum!
I’ve taken this specific tour twice. It’s that good. Your tour guide is the owner of her business, resident of the North End, and she is highly respected within her community.
Paula, provides her customers with an education on Italian immigration into the US and into Boston and allows you to benefit from her experience by tasting the best of the North End!!
Paula was excellent! The history of North End was informative and interesting. The restaurants we dined in, and food was excellent! Paula is a great food tour guide!
Paula was WONDERFUL! It was so special touring this historic area with a local. The food was absolutely amazing! We will definitely take her tour again when we come back to Boston.
I took my dental office team here for an outing and Paula was FANTASTIC!! There were a total of 36 of us in our group (we were 9), and Paula did a great job navigating the group, making sure everyone was well attended to. Her information about Italian culture was insightful, especially since my relatives are from Southern Italy. I would highly recommend this tour!!
Great tour of the North End. While the food is the reason we’re here, Paula provides a rich context of how the neighborhood has changed over the generations through immigration and urban development/ renewal. Three hours long with plenty of very good Italian food. Dietary restrictions are honored. An easy walk (leave the flip flops at the hotel because the streets are uneven). I felt completely comfortable as a solo traveler. Well worth it your time and money.
Paula is very knowledgeable about the North End and has many connections there. Makes you feel like you’ve known her all your life!
Go on this tour!!!
Paula was so fun, so knowledgeable, and she love this neighborhood.
The food is fantastic and the experience was unforgettable. Could not recommend more highly!
We had a fantastic experience on Paula’s North End Boston Food & History Tour! The food stops were excellent, with generous portions and delicious offerings at every location. What really made the tour special was Paula’s storytelling. She blended fascinating historical information with personal anecdotes that brought the neighborhood to life and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour.
The combination of great food, local history, and Paula’s warm, knowledgeable presentation made this a truly worthwhile experience. We left full, informed, and with a much deeper appreciation for Boston’s North End. Highly recommend!
Paula is very knowledgeable about Boston history and pationate about the material. The food is fantastic. Great tour.
We really enjoyed this tour. Great food - especially loved the arancini - and Paula provided so much interesting historical information.
Paula was great! She showed a lot of enthusiasm around the history of the area and the food spots she had selected for us! It was a fun and educational tour!
Paula is an expert on all things North End. Passionate and engaging. All of us enjoyed the food, the history and the walk.
Paula is well educated on the North End. She is kind and personable. Our family enjoyed the places she took us, the meaningful conversation and facts about the North End. We highly recommend her tour.
Paula was incredibly knowledgeable. Not only did she know the history incredibly well, but she also answered questions with ease. There was so much delicious food, it is well worth it. Would highly recommend!
So much fun! We're long time residents in the greater Boston area but hadn't been to the North End in quite a while. This tour involved a nice mix of venues: a bakery, a small grocery stores, a cafe and a restaurant, some of which were well known, and some hidden gems. We tried a variety of foods and everything was delicious. Paula gave us some excellent tips on buying authentic foods, and a history of the neighborhood. I'm recommending this tour to all my friends.
Great food selections, knowledgeable guide who’s very connected to the North End. Loved all the stops.
Great historical view of the North End led by someone passionate about the history and authentic Italian food. You are given exceptional fresh high quality food (even from a James Beard award winning chef) while learning about Boston and the North End.
Excellent history and food tour with an authentic local who has an authentic connection to the area.
What a wonderful experience we had. Highly recommend this tour with Paula. She gave us so much history of the North End and brought us to places we never would have seen. Put this tour on the top of your list, of things to do in Boston.
Short distances were involved, so easy walk. Guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We would do it again.
My wife and I book a food tour in every new city we go to. Paula did truly make this one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. She weaved in history with food so effortlessly that I could’ve sat and listened to her wax poetic on north end history all day. The food, unsurprisingly, was also insanely good and everyone we met at the restaurants and shops was so lovely. 10/10 would do again and recommend as THE tour you do in Boston.
This is an excellent tour, Paula is fantastic, different food samples as well as some history along the way. Some of the our stops were Umberto, for one of the best rice balls and sicilian pizza I ever had.Salumeria market, for a oil and balsamic tasting as well as cheese and procuitto.Bricco bakery for delicious breads and pastry and our sit down for lunch was at Ristorante Saraceno, the meal included bread, appetizer, lunch (macaroni) and wine tastings. We also stopped at a local liquor store for limoncello and a pistacio liquor, last stop was dessert - Gelato at Caffe Paradiso...Paula was very knowledgeable with a vivacious personality. Would highly recommend this tour
Excellent experience! The history lesson well appreciated received on the neighborhood and Italian culture overall was really cool. The food was fantastic! We did not leave with empty stomachs. Stopped at places I would have never of seen or thought of going into. Our tour guide Paula is fabulous. She is a walking history book. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone!
So much interesting history in the North End, and the little hidden spots for delicious Italian treats!! Paula is a long time resident of the North End and it is very apparent that she loves it!! She, herself, is a treasure!!
