We spent a lovely afternoon touring the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the Anchorage and surrounding areas. David was one of the best tour guides I have ever experienced. He eagerly shares his love and knowledge of his home in Alaska and his passion for the nature and wildlife with those on the tour. He is very kind and curious putting you at ease and into a lighthearted community feeling right away. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see around the Anchorage area.

What a memorable day we had! David was simply amazing as our tour guide and driver! He was very knowledgeable not only of Anchorage but Alaska as a whole. He presented information about Alaska, the different scenic spots & animals in the conservation center interestingly.
Thank you David!

Excellent tour guide; David! Even with lousy cloud weather, he made it amazing! He was so enthusiastic about the history and sites we visited. Exceeded our expectations for sure!

It’s fun and exciting, you’ll see different wild animals like wild deer, wood bison, brown and black bears, etc….

Our guide Alex was awesome and informative. Great views from the tram, and it was amazing to see the animals of Alaska up close, knowing they are there to be safe and not in a zoo.

During our week in Anchorage we booked a half dozen tours. Two of them were operated by Fronteer Tours one of which was the Aleyska Tram. Those two tours were both led by Alex and we're by far the best of the six. So much good information and such a pleasant person! Very very highly recommended!

This tour was amazing. My boyfriend & I were looking for a tour where we could do or see as much as possible. The pick up location was so convenient for anyone staying in downtown anchorage. The drive to the conservatory was beautiful & made rich by David’s information that he shared about the landscape as we continued to travel. The conservatory was our favorite portion of the trip. We got so lucky with the bears being out & about! We then traveled to the ski lodge for the tram ride & had a beer at the top of the mountain. It was a rainy day but it did not take away from any part of this tour. Thank you David for having us & sharing all that you did! Highly recommend this tour!!!!!

We needed something to do on our last day after cruise, but before out flight home. Pick up and drop off was super smooth, van was comfortable. Liked the small group. Rainy day, so it was great to be able to hop on and off the van to see the wildelife. Our tour guide Alex was awesome, super knowledge and friendly. She brought snacks, water and extra rain gear for anyone who needed it. We loved seeing the Alyeska Ski Resort and ride the tram. Would recommend it for a relaxed tour with renting a car on your own.

David was so informative and spoke with such vigor that I wanted to see more and more. My first time on a tram! The day flew by!

I couldn’t recommend this excursion more! The views were remarkable and shouldn’t be missed. The transportation was comfortable and David was so knowledgeable and friendly. 10/10 must do!

The tour was extremely well planned. We were fortunate to tour with the owner/guide, David and received exceptional customer service.
First and foremost, it was immediately apparent that David loves and appreciates Alaska. He was so informed and was able to impart his knowledge, effortlessly! The knowledge never stopped, it was as if he had heard every question there could have been about Alaska and he gave succinct and understandable information. He was better than any of the YouTube videos I had watched.
Secondly, his van was extremely comfortable, clean and he even provided snacks and water. You could tell he took pride in his company.
Next, he made several unexpected stops because he knew they were an opportunity that doesn't present often, i.e. it was such a clear day.
Finally, I can't say enough about his engaging personality and how he clearly wanted us to appreciate Alaska!

Great tour guide, great service, great stories, and beautiful scenery. Good way to see a bit of what’s outside Anchorage when you are limited on time.

This is the BEST tour I have booked on Viator so far! David is a wonderful tour guide, full of information about Alaska that keeps you interested and engaged. The weather today was great so the sights were amazing. David's knowledge of the area and history was complimentary. Just an overall great day.

2 adults and 2 teens.
This was a fantastic experience!! The van comfortably seated about 12 people. The entire tour was well narrated and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. The ski resort had views that were incredible. The food at the rooftop deli was very good. The trails at the top were snowed over but there was a small ropes off section for the kids to play in and throw snowballs. The conservation area was great. We saw 3 brown bears and 2 black bears as well as several other native Alaskan animals. The whole area was surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains that had us in awe. On the way back, we pulled over to see a moose grazing near the side of the road.
We did this tour to be an easy day after very long flights into Alaska. It was perfect. Very relaxing but worth every penny for the views and animal viewing.
Even my teenagers said it was a great tour and they’d do it again!!

Knowledgeable tour guide & beautiful scenery. Alex had an extra jacket which I borrowed in the gusty wind. Thank goodness! I was able to take numerous photos in comfort.

This was a wonderful experience made so much better solely because of David. His love and passion for his job was so infectious that it made the already amazing experience that much better. Best part of my Alaska trip by far!

David is a wonderful knowledge guide who shares his love for his adopted state . The van is comfortable with huge windows . David gives you an hour plus at Alyeska to hike or dine- wonderful views. Then an hour and a half at the animal rescue- all the animals were out- brown and black bear, caribou, elk, muskox, wood bison, wolves, lynx, moose. Because we had great weather David made a couple of extra stops- to view the Explorer glacier and then see spawning salmon up close. What a great trip. So glad we didn't rent a car! Thanks David!

Wonderful tour! David makes the trip so much fun with all the commentary he provides. We learned so much and saw so many beautiful sights. We absolutely loved it!
William_C, Aug 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. David was an amazing tour guide with a wealth of knowledge of the area. He is very passionate about Alaska and that comes across refreshingly in his stories and commentary. We highly recommend this tour and this tour company.
Frederick_H, Aug 2025
Solid tour with very knowledgeable guide. I was looking for a more photography orientated tour that let the guests explore the locations on their own. This tour met that perfectly. The guides passion for Alaska was clear in all his talks.
Valerie_W, Aug 2025
David is the absolute best tour guide! Wear layers and be prepared for weather changes. The weather will be different in anchorage vs your tour.
Neslie_J, Aug 2025
It was fun and absolute must-do activity in Anchorage! David was great at keeping us well informed on Alaska facts both in history and current events. We saw wildlife up close and personal and drive in Seward Highway was comfortable while learning about the fascinating history of the Turnagain Arm. David took us to a picturesque lake with Explorer Glacier at the background was a bonus!
