Great guide and scenery
Our guide JP was great. He was very knowledge and outgoing and made our trip great with spectacular photos! We enjoyed the suspension bridge and the couple of photo stops we made. This listing states you spend 45 minutes at Bernard Lake, which is not true.

Sweet pups and beautiful scenery
We had an amazing time enjoying the scenery and experiencing the summer sled dog training camp. Our guide, Chris, was fantastic. Knowledgeable, funny, and kept everyone- including kids- engaged. The drive out to the Yukon was beautiful, with numerous stops for getting out and admiring the scenery. Chris also took some great photos for us. Now, onto the dog sled portion. The actual sled experience was not a sled, but a 4x4 vehicle. We weren’t entirely sure how much of our movement was from the dogs pulling versus the driver using the gas pedal, but either way it was a fun, novel experience set against some beautiful scenery. The dogs all appeared energetic and well cared for. We also had the chance to meet the two week old babies (no holding these little ones) and snuggle the bigger puppies. The kids enjoyed gold panning and found a few flecks, but the real draw of this excursion is definitely the dogs. Everything ran on time, the meetup point was easy, and it all went smoothly.

A must when visiting Skagway!
Our naturalist, Nicolette, and Captain Jen had the perfect combo of lighthearted fun and interesting facts about Skagway and local wildlife. We did the 10am tour which allowed us plenty of time to spend the rest of the day exploring the town. Truly an experience that you don’t want to miss!

Great experience for families with kids
This was the perfect excursion for our family with our two kids ages 2 1/2 and 6 1/2. It’s about a 35 minute shuttle ride from the port so it isn’t too long and you get to experience a lot of different elements between writing in the slide with the 16 dogs, pulling you, meeting the dogs, learning about the history of the Iditarod and snuggling puppies. Our kids had a blast, and it was beautiful as well as informative. There is a little shop at the end where you can buy commemorative things and some chips, but otherwise make sure you bring snacks. We had Houston as our guide who was awesome, especially with our kids, and Ethan was our sled guide. Absolutely would recommend!
