The best tour

We had the best tour guide, Consuelo, who kept the perfect pace and balance between explaining things and time to explore each area. She was interesting and a wealth of information. We took 6 different tours over 2 weeks and Consuelo was by far the most knowledgeable and interesting guide. We stopped to see how wooden mosaics were made in a fascinating shop. We had only 4 in our small group on the particular day. I strongly encourage people to take this tour, it was a highlight of our trip and such a beautiful place. Bring your walking shoes & eat before the tour. We took a taxi to the meeting spot and were glad as the walk is quite steep (avid hikers will love it). We wanted to save our energy for walking around the Alhambra. We walked down to town out of the Justice Gate which was a good walk & enjoyed lunch in Granada.

This was a fabulous experience made amazing by our excellent guide Borja. His depth of knowledge about the Alhambra was outstanding. We learned about the fascinating water system, the significance of religious beliefs that influenced the architecture and symbolism in the buildings. His knowledge of the history of the people who had inhabited it was vast. We learned a great deal about the garden design and also the plants within. The whole guided tour was delivered with humour and was a fun experience. We came away feeling that we had learned a huge amount and had really enjoyed ourselves in the process.

An exceptional guide who went above and beyond. Abu Bakr is the real deal.

Our Alhambra experience was nothing short of magical, and Abu Bakr deserves every bit of credit for that. The journey began even before the trip itself. We booked on March 31st for April 13th, well within the 2-month window where tickets aren't guaranteed. Abu Bakr was upfront about this from day one, but assured us he'd do everything possible to secure them. True to his word, he kept us updated every couple of days without us even having to ask. Our tickets were confirmed the day before the visit. What a relief! His preparation was meticulous. He sent us a detailed video explaining exactly where the taxi drops off, how long the walk to the ticket office was, and precisely what to say when collecting tickets for our two young children. With a 2-year-old and a 6-month-old in tow, this level of detail made all the difference. On the day itself, Abu Bakr's knowledge of the Alhambra was extraordinary. This was a private tour, which meant we could ask him as many questions as we wanted and we did. He walked us through the Nasrid Palaces with incredible depth, explaining how the Sultan lived, how subjects would approach him, the symbolism behind every archway and tile. He even pulled up YouTube videos showing the centuries-old artistic process behind the intricate tilework. History came alive in a way no guidebook ever could. What truly set him apart was his humanity. Strollers aren't permitted inside the Nasrid Palaces, which meant carrying both children throughout. Without being asked, Abu Bakr quietly took our bags so we could manage the kids comfortably. When our 6-month-old needed feeding mid-tour, he guided us to a peaceful bench in the gardens, sat with us patiently for 15 to 20 minutes, and never once made us feel rushed. Yes, the price seemed a little steep when we first booked. But after the tour, every penny felt completely justified. The combination of guaranteed tickets, exceptional knowledge, genuine care for our family and a seamlessly smooth experience from start to finish made it worth every cent. The Alhambra itself is an absolute must visit. We were choosing between Seville and Granada for our itinerary and the Alhambra was the decision maker and it lived up to every expectation. If you're in Granada, do not miss it. It is breathtaking. If you're visiting the Alhambra, especially with young children, book with Abu Bakr without hesitation. He doesn't just show you a monument, he makes you feel the soul of it. One of the highlights of our entire trip to Spain.

A Relaxing and Well-Worth-It Private Tour Experience

I was initially a bit skeptical since everything seemed completely sold out, and I wasn’t sure if the tour would actually go ahead. However, in the end, we had a wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was super relaxed and friendly, while still providing a really informative and engaging experience. Auxi was our guide and she was fabulous! She is very knowledgeable about everything we saw and took her time to make sure we understood everything we were seeing. What a day to visit the Grand Canyon. The rain, wind and cold temps made it difficult to enjoy the trip but Sam grabbed up from a very cold bike ride. Blankets and waters were provided. We were driven around with the best narration and we were able to go places that were off the beaten path. We had kids with us between 8 and 16 and they were all enamored by the stories of biology, geology and history of this majestic place. This was absolutely the highlight of our day trip to the Grand Canyon! Thank you Sam! We can’t stop talking about our adventures with you. Give one of those pesky elk an apple from us. And stay away from those scorpions!
