Salem’s Best - great for historical background.

Jobian was very knowledgeable of the area, how the area had developed over the last 400 years. And geographical layout of the Salem area through that time. This was critical to the understanding of the times during the Salem witch trials. I would love to be on other tours of his, if we visit again. He took us to areas we would not have known to look / cover in our short visit before heading to the airport. We only had about 3hrs to kill in Salem before our flight in the evening out of Boston. It just worked perfectly and the group was small enough we all could be given attention. Very responsive to questions along the way. The questions did not throw him off from his performance. All around very informative and historically based. Even though the area has grown to costume and Halloween flare, the history is important to the development of the area.

A Tour Worth Visiting Salem For

Our tour guide, Sean, was amazing. I’ll be honest, I had very low expectations for the tour, thought it would just be a fun thing to do on a sunny morning in Salem, walk around and hear a couple stories about witches. What we actually got was a super fun interactive tour guide, lots of interesting history about Salem and the east coast, and an education about what truly happened leading up to the witch trials. Sean’s knowledge of the area and ability to answer random questions was amazing, I always love to see people who are passionate about their jobs. Cannot recommend this tour enough!! A+++++++

Our first time in Salem, MA. We booked knowing a little bit of info and history. We were greeted and hosted by Topher. Pleasant curator really engages with his audience. Topher was so knowledgeable and an amazing story teller to give you not just the witch history but all the history that makes Salem a great place to visit. Would absolutely recommend Topher and would book solely on him being the guide!!

I would 100% recommend this tour. Dr. Vitka is not only very knowledgeable and an expert in the field but is also very friendly and accommodating.!!! I can’t emphasize enough - but this tour is definitely worth each and every penny you spend! The knowledge and the stories he shares is amazing!!!! My friend and I had the best time, and it’s very wholesome how he remembers each person on each of his tours and if he sees them again in the city he greets them with absolute kindness!!! A grounded view of witchcraft past and present

This was perfect for us! Even though it was gray and drizzly, the rain let up just in time for our tour. I appreciated how our guide, Will, tied the history of witchcraft in Salem to present day. Everyone’s favorite part was when we got to participate in spell work in the garden! (Bonus: Will told us where all the good bathrooms are, which is clutch for out-of-town visitors!)

We could not recommend the Salem Night Tour enough. Sebastian was our tour guide and he was incredible! He did a great job of humanizing the people he was telling us about so that the history felt alive, which was a perfect compliment to the ghostly stories he shared. He kept it entertaining without sensationalizing, and it is so clear that he genuinely cares about both his tour guests and the historical figures he talked about. If you’re the friend who’s booking the tour for your bachelorette/girls trip/etc., pick this one. Your friends WILL thank you for it!

Fun and Informative

We had such a great time on the Hocus Pocus Tour in Salem! Michael was very informative and made the experience even better with all of his movie references, it really brought the magic to life. A few tips for future visitors: when they say it’s a walking tour with no bathrooms, they mean it; plan accordingly! You’ll see all of the filming sites from the outside, and if you’d like to go inside some of them, you can pay separately to visit after the tour. Also, note that the tour doesn’t end where it starts, so you’ll need to find your own transportation back to your car. We recommend using the Salem Skipper, it was quick and convenient and less expensive than Uber. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience, especially for Hocus Pocus fans!
