Great for expert chefs and beginners!

This class was great! We are relatively experienced with cooking, but this class was perfect because while some people got the general “learn to cook” explanations, we still felt like it was a great class because we learned all about Portuguese-specific cooking and definitely came home with recipes we will be repeating. You definitely won’t leave this class hungry, plenty of food was made and all of it was delicious!

There is generous food on the tour, so have an appetite. Our guide, Anna, was excellent. She provided interesting cultural highlights alongwith a varied selection of Madrira food and drink. Informative and fun, we loved this hands-on, two-hour cooking experience where we learned about both the history and step by step technique in making not only Pastel de Nata, but also Farofias. Everything was so well thought out and paced, and the desserts were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the clean and bright cooking school environment. Great facility and small group setting. Anna and Marta were wonderful, expert instructors. Again, pace of class was perfect for mixed ages (our group included ages 11 and 15). Fun to sit for a few minutes and enjoy eating our desserts at the very end!

Such a fun experience! I had no idea how much work goes into such a small burst of flavor. Perfect for kids (and adults) of all ages. It was lovely! Directions to get in were a little difficult to understand but we got in on time. Jorge was fantastic. English was excellent. We four guests were all home cooks and learned something. The conversation and the wine went along with a wonderful meal. Our 3 hour event stretched on for 4 and a half hours and that was a GOOD thing. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jorge and already have when we were on a boat and wine tour the next day.

Ideal for A Group!

Organised for a group of over 20+ guys, and because of our group size, they provided us with a private guide who was incredibly friendly and helpful. The first bar was pretty quiet, but it had karaoke, which was perfect to get everyone in the party mood. The second spot was also quiet, but since it was an open bar, we could grab drinks without waiting, definitely a bonus. By the time we hit the third bar, the atmosphere really picked up and it was a great vibe. The best part was, as a big group of guys we had trouble getting into clubs the night before, even when we split up we’d still get turned away. With this tour, we had zero issues getting in anywhere, and the cost of the whole experience was basically the same as a standard club entry fee. Total win.
