We had the wonderful Lina guide us, the tour was not only full of great food but lots of interesting information about Madeira and its history.
Today has been a wonderful day. We’ve experienced food tours before and enjoyed them, but today Mara proved to be a professional and knowledgeable guide, who quite righty takes pride in Funchal and wants her party to experience it too.
Food, wine and culture are all shared with warmth and enthusiasm. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you !
The tour was nice, nothing extraordinary. The host was very knowledgeable about the city and the culture. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon. The best part was after the tour, the group stayed in the last bar for an additional 2 hours chatting about shared experiences. Meeting new people is the reason to do these tours!!
Wonderful sampling of local foods and lesson on the history and culture of Madeira. Graca was attentive to my wife’s gluten -free needs.
Fabulous, fun and interesting . Grace was absolutely wonderful both in depth of knowledge and engaging personality. The group size was perfect allowing us to enjoy the experience on a more intimate level-allowing the group to engage in lovely conversations.

This is a great introduction to the food and drink of Funchal. Our guide Carla was fantastic, giving us the history and culture behind each dish and taking us to some lovely out of the way spots I doubt I’d have found on my own. Make sure you arrive hungry!
This food tour was a great mix of sweet and savory bites from Madeira as well as drinks and a beautiful lunch by the oceanside. Mara was a fantastic tour guide--kind, thorough, and, as a local Madeiran, extremely knowledgeable about the island and its culture. As always, we enjoyed meeting fellow travelers from around the world. We had such a wonderful time--highly recommended!
We did the walking tour half way through our trip and had a fabulous time. We stopped for traditional wine tasting, lunch as well as trying other culinary delights including pastel de natas and a chorizo bola - you are definitely well fed and watered so don't eat too much beforehand!
The walking was easy for us able bodied members of the party, however, one of our party had difficulty due to the sloping nature of the area and cobbled streets so I would be aware of this when you book. He did not go ahead with the tour however the staff were extremely accommodating and very kindly issued a refund.
Our tour guide was fabulous and whilst informative was also really fun, she made the trip.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Madeira and she took us to fantastic restaurants,bars and shops to taste amazing food and drinks that are specialities of Madeira. We loved it all.
Wouldn't have much to eat in the morning as over the 4 hours you do get a lot to eat!!
An eventful afternoon in Funchal with a fantastic guide. The tour was organized in a very good way. The places we visited fit the purpose of the tours, and all the locations had prepared for our visit. The guides were very knowledgeable and fluent in languages. We often participate in such tours, but it is rare that we are so positive about a guide, who ensured that the tour became a memorable experience.
Ana gave a great tour, weaving cultural and gastronomical information while we enjoyed delicious tastings around wonderful Funchal.
The food tour was great. We enjoyed all the food that was on offer and the walk in Funchal and history provided by Joanna was very enlightening. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour. Really great food and drinks. Our guide Mara was so knowledgeable, so passionate and so friendly. I highly recommend you do this to taste a little of Madeira and get into on the good places to eat. I would say take a bottle of water with you especially with the heat/humidity.
Great introduction to the food and history of Madeira. Experience the fish caught in the waters nearby, Madeira wine, poncha, bread of the region, cookies and custard desert.
This was a wonderful experience. We tried many tasty local favorites and our guide provided us with some history. She was very knowledgeable, kind and fun. We met lovely folks from other countries in our group. Highly recommend!
The tour was a decent selection of food and wine. The fruit at the local market really showcases the best offerings of Madeira. Broke bread with friendly guests from the UK and France. All connected through a knowledgeable guide.
I would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide, Ana, also knowledgeable and filled us in on information about the city and the foods we’d be eating. Something to note they do switch up the food daily, so if you go on one day and then go to the next day you will be eating some different foods.
There is generous food on the tour, so have an appetite. Our guide, Anna, was excellent. She provided interesting cultural highlights alongwith a varied selection of Madrira food and drink. She was also able to provide some gluten-free pions for gluten intolerance. I would highly recommend the tour.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and the food stops were enjoyable! Always like to do food tours to learn fun facts, where to find good food and a lay of the land by walking the city. Highly recommend!
