Claudia was absolutely amazing! We’ve done so many wine tastings and she was by far the most energetic, kind and welcoming we’ve ever had! The whole staff was fantastic. We learned so much about Portugal wines and even met some new friends. Highly recommend this experience!

Rita was so good. She explained everything and allowed us the time we needed to enjoy each wine. Not rushed along at all. I was a solo traveller and I was sat with 4 other solo travellers. We had a great time and even went for drinks afterwards.
The wine, and the white port, were all amazing as was the cheese and ham.
The venue is beautiful and the staff amazing. Definitely worth booking this.

Amazing experience. Gemny our guild was superb her knowledge and vocabulary were second to none. Made the experience very exciting, I personally don’t drink but she made me want to try all of the wines!

The experience was not pleasant! The meeting point was changed last minute. The guide was unprepared and unprofessional. The wine tasting was not up to par. The wine was poured in the same glass as the one before. The boat ride was just as bad. I would not recommend this tour and will not be using this company in the future. I will be filing a formal complaint against them when I return home.

The setting for this wine tasting is lovely, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The leader of the tasting was knowledgeable and informative, and she presented a great variety of wines and tapas. We enjoyed sharing stories with the other guests as well. Highly recommend.

This was such a fun experience. Canto is a very cute hotel and was a great backdrop for the wine tasting. Our hostess Gabriella was knowledgeable, fun, and engaging. She taught us how to do a proper wine tasting and knew exactly how to pair the wines. I will 100% be recommending this to anyone going to Porto.

I'm sorry, Nick, that you felt we fell short of the mark on your expectations this time. I regret to hear that your arrival experience was not as smooth as we would have hoped. We always provide clear written instructions by email, including a photograph of the hotel entrance and the doorbell to ring, to ensure a seamless start to all our Canto Cooking experiences, so I'm sorry if you missed that. We also provide email and whatsapp contacts and a phone number to call, but you didnt contact us at the time.
The experience ran as scheduled and all the other guests made it and had a great time, so I'm sorry you missed out and Viator marked you as a no show.

All we ask in our booking confirmation is that guests let us know if the have any such needs to so that we can prepare a perfect experience for everyone. What a great intro on Portuguese wines! Priscilla did a great job of explaining the wines of the Vallado vineyard with a little history lesson of the family. The tapas plate was a nice touch to complement the wines...and that taste of white port! TBH, it was a great primer for our tour of the Douro Valley the next day. The venue was stunning and could be on our radar for our next Porto visit.

Our host was knowledgeable about Douro Valley and Portuguese wines. We enjoyed tasting the wines. Over all we were disappointed which was our fault. We thought we had booked a tapas and wine tour. This was a tasting on location only. The tapas was a small “charcuterie” board only.

We really enjoyed the overall experience of this wine tasting tour. The wines themselves were excellent—great quality, thoughtfully selected, and introduced with plenty of interesting information about the region and production process. The guide clearly knew their stuff, and I came away feeling like I’d learned something new.
That said, the pacing felt a little rushed at times, which made it harder to fully savour each wine and enjoy the atmosphere. The tapas selection was also quite limited. (Maybe call it cheese board and wine experience rather than Tapas) A bit more time and a slightly more generous food offering would have made the experience feel more balanced.
Overall, it was a worthwhile tour with fantastic wines and knowledgeable staff, but with a few small tweaks it could be wondeful.

I have been to a lot of wine tastings at home and abroad but this is one was special. History lesson, education on how to experience your wine and local cheese, meat, olives and nut! Wish they were all like this!
