K’s LUXURY TOUR / Whitney Plantation
K’s LUXURY TOUR GUIDE
Kindrell (Kin) was a fantastic driver, knowledgable, interesting facts, with an amazing ability to recall names and faces. He came right to the hotel to get us, communicated well with us prior to arrival, his luxury van/bus was SPOTLESS CLEAN, comfortable, and had an excellent audio system.
Kin did not rush us, gave us plenty of time at stops, and had a great sense of humor. Kin is born/raised NOLA, has fantastic restaurant recommendations. We happened upon Kin by chance; however we’d only book through him for future adventures.
WHITNEY PLANTATION
This must be on your bucket list when coming to NOLA! Presented by descendants of the enslaved who experienced the plantation. Justin was our guide (his grandpa’s great grandparents were slaves at Whitney) is an articulate young man, well versed in the history and presentation.
Powerful, reflective, dark history. How someone could leave there not realizing how wrong slavery is, would be unimaginable. Hard to believe many try to sugarcoat the entire issue, or worse yet cling to ideology or symbolism of the cause.
This was an exceptional experience, the museum quality buildings, grounds, artifacts, history is worth the visit. There are other plantations one may visit but NONE which tell the slave experience.
DEFINITELY CONTACT KIN & TOUR WHITNEY

Whitney Plantation & Museum
Should not be missed! 2nd Line Tours contacted the day of our tour and gave us an estimated time. They arrived promptly and we had commentary by our driver at times about our surroundings.
The tour itself was self- guided with audio cassettes with 14 stops throughout the plantation. Gives life to the subject of slavery and life on a plantation..

Great tour!
Rob was an excellent guide and made the food tour a fantastic experience. Not only was the food great, but he tied in the history of New Orleans in a really engaging way. He even connected parts of the city’s history to my wife’s love of vampire movies and local lore, which made the tour feel personal and memorable. Highly recommend!

Awesome Tour!!!!
This tour was fantastic! Pandy was so informative and her musician background lent itself to a truly unique experience! I would highly recommend this to anybody who wants to get a feel for Frenchman Street. So much better than being on Bourbon Street.

Oz was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and gave us great new perspective of New Orleans. He showed us so much in our short tour and his driving was very safe. Definitely recommend this tour at the start of your New Orleans adventure to get ideas of what to explore later. Very fun!

Holiday week
It was nice to have transportation to the Oak Alley Plantation. They arrived for pick up on time. It was interesting to hear about plantation life. We enjoyed the samples. The driver did let us stop at the Laura Plantation for a quick view. It was good to see what the area outside of New Orleans is like.

Lots of fun! If you have...
Lots of fun! If you have a car, it’s an easy drive and more economical than taking the tour bus. Our guide Marc was great and really made sure we got up close to the wildlife. He knew where their usual hang out spots are, so we saw tons of gators, raccoons, birds, and a snake. He also knew a lot about the history and the vegetation.

Very informative tour
I very much enjoyed the tour to the plantations. In my opinion Laura's plantation and Whitney plantation are the most interesting. As a nice surprise we still got to see Oak Alley and another plantation, as we passed by on the road. Gisele is an excellent tour guide, who is very knowledgeable in the history of New Orleans and ensured that we had a great experience. I definitely recommend this tour!

Great start to our first visit to NOLA
The bike tour is the best way to start your trip in Nola! Chip was a fantastic guide who definitely has ‘real’ knowledge of the area and its history. The tour was relaxed with plenty of stops so never felt rushed and the bikes were in great condition. Loved trying out the cruiser bike for the first time and so comfortable. Chip provided really interesting information and history which kept us hooked. Probably one of the best tours I’ve been on. Hope to join the good tour if time allows
