This was a wonderful tour. Our guide at the sled dog portion of the tour was awesome! The pictures and videos were much appreciated. We were expecting a boxed lunch, but instead had a great lunch at a local restaurant, which was delicious. The bus driver was also the tour guide on some of the areas, like the exit glacier and he was witty and enjoyable. Great stories.

Great variety of activities. We enjoyed the driver and the many things we were able to see, highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Daryl, our tour guide and driver. Spending time at the dog sled facility (playing with puppies and going on a musher ride), taking a tour of downtown Seward and having a delicious lunch at a restaurant, and hiking up to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords NP were all enjoyable.

This was a Great way to spend the day before we boarded our cruise ship…I loved the dog sled ride and the puppies, it was a really nice facility. And the guided walk was the perfect little challenge with several options to see the views.

This was a great day learning about dog mushing and the Iditarod. We all learned so much! And getting to cuddle puppies made it even better. Lunch was good, and plenty of options. We were worried about getting back to Seward for our 6p train to Anchorage, but everything went smoothly. Note that it is a bit of a walk from cruise port to train depot, but you can drop your luggage there if you are checked in for the train.

Tour operators are very accommodating. We came in on the train from Anchorage, they met us there - no rushing to get from depot to meet them. With advance planning they were able to load our luggage and carry with us as we are staying at an Airbnb not a hotel that picks up from the depot. The tour itself was very informative and touched on a multitude of facets of Seward. The dogs were by far my favorite, im not a cold weather person to the ability to experience being pulled by sled dogs without having to deal with snow and frigid temps was perfect for me. The glacier experience was great in appealing to the masses with its no walk, easy walk, and more difficult hike options.
Seeing the salmon fight against the current was interesting as well.
The low spot would be lunch. Maybe Ive just been spoiked since being here but IMO the restaurant could do better. The cups of chowder were tiny. My dad's garden salad was a small bed of lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes thrown on top. My husband's BLT was a couple pieces of bacon and some lettuce, no tomato to be found. My apple walnut salad with salmon was good, but still a small portion. Probably the most appetizing option of what I saw being served were the burger and fries. I'd suggest going that route for anyone who wants to be fueled for the following hike.
Back to the accommodating part, following the tour our driver dropped each of us at our individual accommodations, with an emphasis on getting those taking the train back being dropped off first so they had plenty of time to check in, obtain boarding passes, etc. With all of our luggage in tow that was absolutely appreciated.
Overall, I have done a lot of excursions, and Seavey is running a 1st rate, class act! Well done.

The dog sled portion of the activity was excellent. The lunch filled a hole, and the visit to Exit Glacier was nice. Options to do two different walks in time available was helpful. The Bear Creek weir was brief but nothing much to see. A little commentary about a few places around town was interesting. The dog sled activity carried the tour. The driver/guide loved a story and was friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour which included dog sledding, a tour around Seward, a nice restaurant lunch then a walk to a glacier and to see salmon spawning. The driver guide was excellent and so was our guide at the dog sledding who told us a lot about the Iditarod race. Cuddling pups was so lovely. Lunch, in a Seward restaurant, was tasty. At the glacier there were options depending on people's walking ability - I chose the easier path but I still got photos of the glacier from a distance. Normally the stop to look at the salmon wouldn't be included as its only when the salmon are spawning - luckily I got to see it. The bus returned to Seward in time for people to catch their northbound train.

The entire guided tour was excellent. We learned about and got to experience dog mushing. Got to hold some puppies, the next generation of mushing dogs. Our lady musher was really nice and funny and told great stories about her mushing experiences. Lunch was tasty. Our bus driver Daryl also told great mushing stories and took us for a hike to Exit Glacier. Spent over a week visiting AK and this was my absolutely favorite activity. It was awesome. Thanks so much…Patricia

Loved visiting the dog kennel and holding the puppies. Also found the personal stories our guide told us about his experiences growing up and living in Alaska and the tales about family history in dog sled racing fascinating and informative. We learned a lot.

This whole tour is magnificent! The ididaride dogs were healthy, happy and very cute! I enjoyed the ride and learning more about the Iditarod race now and historically. The glacier overlook hike was breathtaking. Lunch was tasty. Our tour guide, Ken was attentive, friendly and timely.

Our driver / guide Daryl was wonderful! Then pace of this trip is perfect! We loved the sled dogs, the sod ride, the glacier hike and the salmon. As a local, Daryl shared lots of interesting stories!

Tour is for younger people who can rock climb up a mountain. Our guide johnathon told us there was going to be a two mile hike which as an older person I can do. Once we started walking it was more like rock climbing up a mountain to see a glacier. I almost fell five times and he left three of us behind who were struggling. I would of thought he would of stayed and helped but we all caught up to him 15 minutes later with other people who were not on the tour assisting us.

This is a growing issue as Exit Glacier retreats at an astonishing pace.
The hike in question is the Overlook Loop at Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park (about 1/4 of the overall day tour). The trail has been extended several times in recent years.
The National Park is exploring alternate options, but for now guests have the option of waiting at the Visitor's Center, taking a shorter hike but not getting as good of a view, or going for the walk which includes some strenuous stretches.
As for the guide, they often have to chose where in the group to walk as it often spreads out, and unfortunately it sounds like he was needed in more than one place on this day, I apologize.

Dog sled ride was fast and exciting. The newborn puppies were so cute and got to cuddle them. Our favorite part of the trip, beautiful scenery

Enjoyed the entire experience. Our guides were terrific and the dogs were remarkable. Nice lunch and historical trip through Seward

The dogs made the whole trip worth while, I highly enjoyed myself, lunch was just in time because I missed breakfast.

Daryl, our guide was beyond five stars, very kind, considerate, informative, fun and really made the day enjoyable! Laura at Seavey’s, was our musher, beyond five stars again! Can’t even think of anything she could improve on. We hope to see her race one day! The dog wagon ride was super-fun! Everyone was very kind, knowledgeable, and the absolute best. Highly recommend!

Dog sled ride and history of Iditarod was found and interesting.. Would do it again. Kids would love it

We all, myself, my husband, daughter, and son in law, enjoyed this very informative and fun tour. The food was fabulous. The kennels were fun and very informative. Kala was our musher and she was really good at answering all our questions. The bus driver to the Park was very good. And as I said before the Food was FABULOUS! The walk to the glacier was a pretty easy one, according to my husband, I wasn't able to walk it because of leg problems I was experiencing.

It's very good tour. The tour guide was very informative and friendly. I felt welcomed and enjoyed during the trip. The sled dogs tour was amazing. The glacier was spectacular. I wish we had more time spending on the glacier though!

We enjoyed the entire tour but the visit to the Seavey dog kennel's was the highlight. Getting to ride behind sled dogs was amazing! Lunch was great at a very pretty lodge and Exit Glacier was pretty. You do spend about an hour and a half at Exit Glacier and if you are not a hiker it's a long walk to get close to it. Many of our party were bored sitting around for an hour and a half as they were not able to walk very far (older group). Our driver/guide was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and friendly. We were picked up at the train station (after checking our luggage) and they had us back in time to board the 6 pm train to Anchorage. This tour works perfectly with the train schedule! Overall I highly recommend this tour!

Poor trip and food was worse. Think people got sick from salmon and possible food poisoning. Would not recommend
Sherri_B, May 2019
GREAT day! Learning about the Iditarod dogs and being able to be pulled by them was awesome and then the Exit glacier trail was breathtaking. Did not dissapoint
Virginia_O, Jul 2018
This was a great overall tour hiking to Exit Glacier, watching the sockeye salmon swimming upstream and visiting the Iditarod Camp.
