GREAT walking tour with Savannah…in Savannah! She was extremely knowledgeable and obviously loved what she was doing which always makes the event more fun. Her history lesson throughout the tour was authentic and not just a canned speech. She had even done some independent research on various topics which she shared with us. 100% worth the cost. We would certainly take another tour and ask specifically for Savannah!

Savannah’s Historic District is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the US. Discover its highlights on a leisurely walking tour, with a professional local guide to provide richer insights into the city and its many historic buildings.

Choose from a morning or afternoon tour and meet at Oglethorpe Square to start the tour. Follow your guide down cobblestone alleyways and the many historic buildings and homes in the historic city center.

Over the course of the walking tour, you’ll pass by highlights such as Forsyth Park, River Street, and the building that housed the original Girl Scout Headquarters, with numerous stops for photos and questions.

History doesn't have to awkward

Good tour! It was funny, informative, and engaging overall. One suggestion: when discussing slavery or civil rights, try to avoid repeatedly looking at the only African American person(s) on the tour. It created an awkward moment and felt like an assumption. Not every Black person is a descendant of enslaved people, and it's best not to single anyone out during those parts of the tour.

Pierce was an exceptional docent! He was a native Savannahian and he knew the history of the town and the squares very well! Easy to listen to, found us all shade when he stopped to elaborate and very good with answering questions. Would recommend a Viator tour any day! And if you get Pierce you are extra lucky!

Champ is a guide who is proud / loves his hometown of Savannah, Georgia. He loves history and shares it with others. He is nice but did not really engage in conversation as much with me. Suggestions: Some info on the Savannah's role / importance in the Civil War would be appreciated. Info on plants could be lessened.
