This was an awesome tour. Our driver was fantastic and we got so much history about the cemetery and those buried there. Although it is a cemetery the setting is beautiful with all the oak trees and moss. This was something we had not heard of anyone doing before but so glad we had the experience. it was our favorite thing we did on our weekend in Savannah.

It was wonderful taking a golf cart tour through the cemetery. We got to rest our feet, be in a covered golf cart, and see more of the cemetery than we would have. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot during the tour! He stopped so we could take pictures. It was wonderful!

We learned so much about the cemetery having little prior knowledge but the beauty is incredible and unmatched. Our tour guide was amazing and answered any questions that were asked by anyone on the tour. Without dropping spoilers here we learned details about the famous individuals buried in the cemetery and some of the interesting tombstones and the symbolism associated with their design. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful tour!

This tour was a wonderful way to get an overview of the cemetery with great stories about the history and people who rest there. The golf cart tour was perfect for a hot summer day in July rather than walking. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable! I highly recommend this tour!

The Thread That Sews Savannah’s History Together: A Must See!!

This was my third tour in Savannah and it was excellent in tying up the history in the other tours I had been. I toured Wormsloe just before this and this tour gave me a deeper understanding of the Jones family and what they stood for in the community. After this, I did a ghost tour that started in a different cemetery and this tour fed into that one nicely! The cemetery itself is beautiful. It’s a real movie set! This tour offered a better understanding of why cemeteries are actually a part of the Savannah culture. I’m from the west coast and there is less importance placed on them because of the transitory nature of majority of the people there. The irony: the cemeteries really bring the long history of Savannah to life! My tour guide was awesome! I wish I could remember his name (ouiji board tattoo)! His stories were rich and he had a playful sense of humor that added to the tour. He brought the group together a bit more than some of the other tour guides. (All great, though!)

Great cemetery tour

This was the best way to tour the cemetery. It is a small group and we could hear the tour guide very well. I believe our guide was Harry. He was an AMAZING guide. He knew the history of the cemetery and the families buried there. He kept our interest the whole tour. We were able to get off and take pictures which was appreciated. Harry should write a book. He was so enthusiastic. He truly loves his job. Thank you for the great experience! He exceeded our expectations!

This was by far the best tour we took while in Savannah. Brandon was our tour guide. He was phenomenal! He is so knowledgeable and imparts that information in an informative way and with humor. He points out details and historical facts we did not know and things we did not notice. If you are visiting Savannah, I would rate this tour as a must do. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. We were given clear directions as to where the cemetery is located and where we were to park. The guide has bug spray available should the bugs be bad. We had no problem with bugs. This golf cart tour was worth the cost. Just so you know the golf cart is covered so you are not in the sun.

Just an overall fun experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the cemetery and all its history, but he also made it very fun and entertaining. Definitely not only learned a lot about the cemetery but also about history in general. So worth the trip.

Wonderful! Our guide was knowledgeable and provided an enjoyable tour. It was very hot the day we went so we were thankful we’d opted for the golf cart tour rather than the walking tour. At the end we were left wanting to know even more about the history behind all of the memorials and the lives of the people remembered there. Prior to our tour we didn’t realize just how big the cemetery is, so big it’s not possible to cover everything in one tour. Thank you for a great introduction to Bonaventure!

Rich was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and super friendly. This is the way to visit the cemetery- you learn so much and get to see a good amount in a short period of time. If you’re visiting in the summer this is definitely the move - all the people who were walking looked miserable. And it’s so much better learning the details of the graves and the stories of the people who were laid to rest in this beautiful place. Absolutely recommend!!!!

Our guide was amazing. The cemetery was so rich with history and the gardens were so well kept. I loved seeing all the graves and learning about the loved ones buried there. Our guide had so many stories about the grave sites and the history of Savannah. If I ever get back to Georgia again I will definitely come back. Beautiful, fascinating, and just the right amount of spooky! Riding through Bonaventure Cemetery on the shaded golf cart was a wonderful way to see so much of the cemetery during our 60 minute tour. Our guide shared the history, legends, and unique symbolism with great storytelling, and the majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss made the experience unforgettable. It was one of the top highlights while visiting the Savannah area and highly recommended.

Could have spent the day there and still not see enough

It was a wonderful experience for all of us. We had a private tour because there were five of us and our guide was both knowledgeable and friendly. It took about an hour in the golf cart for us to tour the more famous graves and we could have spent hours more walking and wandering around the area but the heat was exhausting.
