Michael was wonderful, very knowledgeable. It’s a great tour to get an understanding of the founding of Savannah
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Glad you enjoyed the tour and thank you so much for the review!
Janet_R, Feb 2026
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and history of Savannah. Not sure we saw all the sites listed though.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for the review! I checked with the guide and your tour was 45 minutes longer than advertised and he even included the cemetery that isn’t on the list of sites! 42 points of interest!
Katherine_F, Nov 2025
Brad was very informative and truly insightful about the history of Savannah. We loved interacting with him and would definitely do another tour with him as the guide.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your tour and time with your guide!!

Tour guide William Spinks knows his Savannah history - my husband and I had never visited here before, and we learned much from William about the architecture, politics, agriculture, and economics of this area of Georgia. Mr. Spinks knows well the layout of the city. He answered our questions and gave his talk with a friendly, easygoing attitude.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for the review! We’re so glad to hear your expectations were met! We certainly hope you’ll come back for another visit!
Dawn_P, Oct 2025
Our guide was a wealth of information and was happy to answer our questions. We absolutely loved it!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for the review! Your enjoyment and satisfaction is why we do it!!
Andrew_W, May 2025
More history than walking. Lots of Revolutionary War and founding of Georgia’s history; whitewashing of the very little Civil War era history. Our guide covered the cotton boom and the people who benefited, nothing of slavery… or Civil Rights era history.
The guide was engaging and entertaining enough, but very disappointed in the content.
Response from Host, May 2025
Thank you for the review. The Savannah Stroll covers the founding of the colony of Georgia and Georgia’s influences and contributions to the South.
If you would like an in depth study of the Civil War, slavery, and post War Savannah, we offer a tour for that. It is called Civil War Savannah.
STEPHANIE_S, Mar 2025
Good tour. Informative and enjoyable. Walked sections of Savannah we would not otherwise have seen. Worth the money.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Your experience is exactly the experience we strive to give every guest. We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour!!!
Corey_M, Feb 2025

Thank you for the review!!
MaryAnn_D, Nov 2024
Very interesting and enjoyable tour although it started out a little shakey. Tour guide never introduced himself until we asked his name and never asked our names or where we were from even though there was only 4 of us in the group. He also looked like he rolled right out of bed to do our tour.
However, as we walked around he was very very interesting both in his knowledge and his stories. We wound up having a very informative tour. It was only 90 min but perfect for what we wanted to learn about the history of Savannah. I'm only giving 4 stars though because of how it started out. With a few tweeks he could definitely be an amazing tour guide.
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Thank you for the review!
Your guide moved the group to an area where the leaf blowers weren’t so loud and it was then that he introduced himself. He already knew who you were. He had the reservation list.
The tours are always 90 minutes in length. That’s the outer limits of most people’s attention spans. Sometimes we have guests on the tour who cannot walk. It’s true! Those tours can take a full two hours or longer to give.
He didn’t just roll out of bed but he’s not a morning person either!
Olivia_P, Oct 2024
We had a great stroll with Zach! This tour focused mainly on Savannah during the founding and the civil war. Very interesting!
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Thank you so much for the review! Zach tries so hard to ensure every guest has a great time!!
Meganne_F, Sep 2024
This tour was great! Our guide, Zach, was very knowledgable and enthusiastic! He thoroughly explained the history of the area in an engaging way and answered all of the questions. We saw quite a few interesting spots on the tour, and Zach explained the history behind them, gave details on the architecture, and knew a lot about the area as a whole.
The group was a good size, not too big. The tour started on time with no issues. The meeting point was easy to find and near a parking garage, which was convenient. The pacing of the tour was good; I never felt like we lingered too long in one spot but still learned a lot. If you are concerned about the summer heat, this tour largely goes through areas with a lot of shade and has a brief break in the AC halfway through, which was quite nice.
I definitely recommend this tour!
Response from Host, Sep 2024
Thank you so much for the review! We sent a copy of your review to Zach and it made his day!
Emma_F, May 2024
We had an absolutely wonderful tour with guide Zach who turned out to be incredibly knowledgeable about the history of this city and told interesting stories with great enthusiasm

Lori_P, Apr 2024
This tour was a great thing to do when we got to Savannah, gave us a little bit of history on the area and got us directed as to where we wanted to do and what else we wanted to see. Zack was personable, knowledgeable and funny- kept us all laughing
Leslie_B, Apr 2024
Unable to rate as the tour time was changed and we had a conflict. Understand things come up. Took the trolley tour instead which was fun.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
We had to change the tour time due to severe weather. We tried our best to work around the guest’s schedule.
This isn’t really a review. More of an announcement not in need of a 1 star review.
Judy_C, Mar 2024
Loved hearing the history of how Savannah grew. Hearing about the different important figures of the time was very interesting.

Sheryl_R, Apr 2023
Tour started late ...tour guide we were supposed to have was ill...got a substitute but supposed to have done this for 15 years. She was hard to hear....rambled on.....there were 12 of us in the group...by half way through we were down to 6...the others walked away....a few minutes later 2 more left....we were supposed to start and finish at the same point ....she finished the tour somewhere far from the starting point...we had to hire a cab to get us back to our hotel because we had no idea how to get back. We have booked several tours through Viator...all went well except for this one. Not very happy with the wasted time and money!
Response from Host, Apr 2023
We are terribly sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience. Your scheduled guide was out sick but you didn’t receive a substitute guide. Your guide has 20 years experience giving tours in Savannah. After speaking with some of the other guests, we were informed that they were not leaving the tour because they were bored or unhappy but because they wanted to get to their Riverboat tour early and wanted to stop for a restroom break.
Sometimes, guests get so concerned with what other guests are doing that they fail to enjoy a tour themselves!
The tour never ends at the starting location due to redundancy. The tour always ends in Chippewa Square and your guide gave you very easy instructions for a 10 minute walk back to the meeting location. She would have gladly escorted you back to the meeting location herself had you asked!
rosar, Apr 2023
We were looking forward to this tour and learning more about Savannah. Unfortunately, what we got was a guide that was not knowledgeable about the city. A guide who was confused about her facts and one that gave very vague details.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
If you are new to Savannah and looking forward to this tour, how would you know your guide was not knowledgeable about the city? Our guides have a minimum of 15 years experience giving tours in Savannah and are anything but confused.
Robert_B, Apr 2023
Over thirty people on tour, could not hear the guide. The guide constantly got off subject making personal political positions. At least 10 people left the tour before it finished. A complete waste of time and money. Strongly recommend another company.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
You signed up for the history and civil war tour. The most coveted walking tour reservation in Savannah, and on a holiday weekend. The tour you took not only covers the history of Savannah but also the strategies used in the Civil War and the political positions of the south at that time.
Can’t you just be tolerant and enjoy the tour? It just isn’t necessary to get offended by everything.
Donna_D, Feb 2023
You company cancelled my reservation
Received notification that tour guide was sick and couldn’t mage it
Response from Host, Feb 2023
The guide came in to give your tour but had obvious flu symptoms including a fever so close to your tour time that there wasn’t time to call in a replacement guide before your tour was to start. We didn’t want to send you out with a sick guide: We explained this to you and you indicated that you understood. We offered you an alternate tour time and even offered complimentary tour vouchers which you quickly turned down. The miss spelled words and incomplete sentences in your review suggest to me that you just want to be angry.
Alana_W, Jan 2023
Wonderful and informative tour about the history of Savannah! Our guide was so knowledgeable and fun to walk with. Would definitely recommend as the best history tour around Savannah!
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Thank you so much for the review! Giving your tour was a pleasure! I hope you’ll come back and visit again!!!
Patricia_G, Jan 2023
Experienced and well qualified guide gave an abundance of history and many interesting anecdotes.
We missed the cathedral but will catch that next time in Savannah!
Angela_F, Jan 2023
I did the trolley tour once, which is good for learning the layout of the city, but absolutely cannot compare to this walking tour! Bill is a wealth of knowledge and shared so many unique stories and secrets of Savannah with us. As a Savannah native, he knows it all!
Brian_M, Jan 2023
An excellent guide who really knew his stuff and was still very personable in sharing it with all of us. He did well with our group that included a number of families with strollers. We walked at a comfortable "stroll pace" and learned a lot about the history and people of Savannah.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Thank you so much for the review! We try hard to make the experience enjoyable for all ages! We certainly hope you’ll have the opportunity to visit Savannah again!!!
Ashley_B, Dec 2022
