We got rescheduled twice, which was fine, but on the day of the tour the guide was late and didn’t text or anything to let us know he would be late. If he was late only, that would have been okay but being late after rescheduling twice was a no go for us so we waited till 1:06 (tour started at 1) and left.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
We had to reschedule the Homes tour twice due to our scheduled guide being out with the flu. We gave the guests ample time to reschedule and they eagerly did. We rescheduled for a special afternoon Homes tour that they quickly accepted.
Our guide giving the Homes tour was a few (1:07pm)minutes late getting to the square because he had to assist an elderly man to his hotel after the morning tour and took a few min longer than expected so he skipped his lunch break.
All the other guests who arrived for the 1:00pm tour were there when the guide arrived but this guest chose to leave the square within minutes of the tour starting. The guide texted the guests upon arriving to the square but there was no response. The other guests on the tour suspected they had found something they would rather do at that time.
She later told us she left the negative review because she had not yet received her refund. That’s not the purpose of reviews and refunds are not processed on weekends.

Absolutely loved having William as our guide. Very informative and not boring at all. Kept you interested and could tell he had a real passion and intrest in the topic.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you do much for the review! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour!!
WilliamD_W, Oct 2025
We arrived for our tour at the designated meeting time and location. Nobody showed up to give the tour. We could have scheduled another time and day, but, we had already made plans for the days we were visiting the city.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for the review! If you recall, our guide had called in having Covid 19 and we gave you a list of alternate tour times and dates and asked you to choose one and confirm a date. You never did. You just showed up on an alternate date that happened to be on a rainy day that nobody signed up for. You would read our text messages but not respond to any of them and phone calls went to voicemail making communication with you frustrating.

As a first time visitor to Savannah, Georgia, I found this to be a surprising and very pleasurable tour to start my visit. The tour guide was very personable and very knowledgeable about the homes we saw, the history, and the people of Savannah. He sometimes veered into a dialogue that was more personal opinion than historical fact which I found slightly offputting. I simply continued to askbpertinent and relevant questions to our topic, and that brought him back to more historical and accurate facts. I don’t believe he was trying to be provocative, just part of his personality. I would recommend this tour to others and to friends of mine, but with the caveat of you take what you get with individual the tour guide guides.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for your review! We shared it with your guide and your review really made his day. 😊
He did say that the other couples on the tour really enjoyed the tour but he did say he could tell that you seemed worried that he might say something “southern” while on tour. Guides normally don’t offer personal opinions on tour but sometimes historical truths offered in context can be disturbing. Regardless, we certainly appreciate your review.
Patricia_Y, Oct 2025
William provided quite a lot of interesting historical information and kept us entertained with his wit and humor.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! We would have thought the wit and humor would have cliched a 5 star review for sure! Lol.
Patty_B, Oct 2025
We strolled at a comfortable pace and learned amazing history!! Laughs and fun were included for free
Response from Host, Oct 2025
We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour! Your experience is what we hope for for all of our guests!!
Adam_W, Sep 2025
Loved it, very cool! Such a rich history. Out your guide was very engaging and informative. The homes were so cool, and let’s of ghost stories as well.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! With Savannah considered the most haunted city in the country it’s hard to skip the ghosts on a homes tour!
Corrin_f, Aug 2025
We loved our tour guide, any question we could think of he supplied an answer! We learned so much and even in the rain, had a great time! He gave us great suggestions on what else to experience in Savannah and what WOULD be wheelchair friendly for my father.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad to hear y’all enjoyed the tour and it was a pleasure helping your dad navigate his electric chariot through this 300 year old city.
Bridget_W, Jun 2025
Great history tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Was changed to a historical tour after the homes tour was canceled after the guide was not available
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you so much for the tour! Your guide toured the Historic tour into a hybrid historic/homes tour last minute but it did include all the houses shown on the homes tour. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed it!
Richard_L, Jun 2025
Unfortunately the tour was cancelled by the tour guide due to jury duty. I totally understand civic duty but it was frustrating as we could no longer tour the historic homes because we leave before another one is scheduled.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you for the review. We contacted you as soon as we found out our guide had a jury duty summons and offered you multiple options of dates and times to reschedule the tour. However, you declined the offer stating you were leaving the next day. We’re not sure what else we could do and we’re not convinced this deserved a negative review.
Tara_T, May 2025
My tour was cancelled by the company, they said I would get a refund, but I never got a refund. I texted the tour operator and again they said I would get a refund. but again, I did not. can someone help with this?
Response from Host, May 2025
We had to cancel your reservation due to severe lightening and thunderstorms. That was Saturday. On Monday morning we sent a refund request to the ticket seller. It normally takes 3-5 working days for a refund from the ticket seller to post.
As of this writing, it’s been two days. You knew this when we submitted the refund request so we’re a bit confused as to why you chose to write this complaint.
Steven_M, May 2025
Absolutely a wonderful tour, very informative. Our tour guide, Brad, was very knowledgeable and shared many poignant stories and details of Savannah, its history, and many of the beautiful homes in the historic district. Highly recommend.
SYLVANA_K, Apr 2025
The guide told us she was a sub
We spent more time in the parks discussing the trees, then visiting homes
We were supposed to end up at the Davenport house museum, which we did not do
We only reviewed three or four homes at the most in an hour and a half
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you for the review!
Your guide did fill in for a guide who had a family emergency but she was no sub. She has given the tour many times before.
Your guide showed 13 different types of architecture on the tour including some very unusual commercial architecture. Your guide also answered any and all questions guests had on the tour along the way. Ultimately, the tour was 2.0 hours in length and a third of the historic district was covered.
At the end of the tour, you were texted vouchers to redeem at the Davenport House by giving the booking number located at the top. For some reason, those instructions were not followed and the tickets were never redeemed and the home was never visited.
John_W, Apr 2025
Knowledgeable guide. Good overview of a number of homes. Description of tour says we would be given a voucher for the Davenport House. However no voucher was offered or given.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you for the review! The Davenport house had to close on Sunday for a wedding, the day of your tour, so we offered vouchers for Monday but you were leaving town.
Ursula_M, Apr 2025
Our guide was incredibly informative and entertaining. It was one of the best tours we'd ever taken. Highly recommend.
Sheri_H, Mar 2025
Great tour, interesting information. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told interesting stories about the areas.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you so much for your review! We are so glad to hear you had a great time!😊😊
Carter_P, Mar 2025
Nice 2-hour walking tour with LOTS of historic information about Savannah's Historic District. Never a dull moment.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you for the review! “Never a dull moment” is our goal!
Ann_V, Mar 2025
The description was very specific as to homes to be visited and the tour did not match. We were also supposed to receive a voucher to be able to enter a home and did not. This was very disappointing as I expected this to be a highlight. It was an interesting tour. The guide was nice.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you for the review!
The listing on the tour description lists locations that might be visited but it’s a list of mainly house museums and very few guests want to hear only about the house museums. The homes owned by current families are also covered on the tour because they also add to Savannah’s architectural history. Your guide showed you 27 homes instead of the 8 listed.
Your house museum voucher is attached to your tour voucher. If there were any questions, why didn’t you ask? You could have called or texted us at any time and we would be delighted to help.

Brad was very informative and full of unique bits of history. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and left with a better understanding of the history of Savannah.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you for the review! Your experience is the goal we have for the tour!
Darlene_R, Dec 2024
Enjoyed the experience and our tour guide Zack was excellent! He was native to Savannah and his knowledge was tops! He was also a good story teller… made it fun to learn

Jeff_B, Nov 2024
Great tour! So much to see and learn in Savannah. This was our 5th tour on our 8 day vacation. It was very informative and eye opening. We sure know a lot about bricks and historical houses now! Made walking around on our vacation more rewarding. Can definitely recommend this tour.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Thank you so much for the review! Your guide has a tendency to be very detailed on that tour!!
Elizabeth_V, Nov 2024
Brad was very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond. He had detailed information about the Kehoe and The Pink House. Would definitely be on board for another tour with him.
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Thank you so much for the review!
Anne_P, Nov 2024
Zack gave history and little known facts in very informative and entertaining way. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!
Jennifer_A, Oct 2024
The guide grew up in Savannah and was very knowledgeable. He was able to share first hand knowledge of how the city has changed over the past 50 years. We saw easily overlooked homes and learned the history behind them. This tour gave us an opportunity to learn Savannah’s development as a colony and hiw it became what it is today.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Thank you for the wonderful review!
Allison_R, Oct 2024
Very fun and informative. The guide new his material well and took us to homes with interesting history. Saw a couple that were haunted too.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour!!
Heidi_P, Sep 2024
Our guide Brad was knowledgeable and quickly amended the tour to include information that guests were requesting. He clearly was only scratching the surface of his knowledge of the city and it's homes, as well as the policies of the historical preservation committee. It was nice hearing the stories from a native of Savannah and seeing the city through his eyes. Highly recommend this tour as a way to learn more about the architecture and preservation of the homes of this beautiful city.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour!
Denise_A, Sep 2024
Really enjoyed hearing the “then and now” stories about the houses we viewed. Brad has such a wealth of knowledge and memories! And he is so funny!
Response from Host, Sep 2024
I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! The tour is so much fun to give when people enjoy the subject!
Timothy_T, Jul 2024
Our guide was informative, funny and knowledgeable. He took any all questions amd answered in detail. Easy meetup and not to long and pretty view while learning the history. I think this tour good first time visiting One issue for Owen’s Thomas Hoise and slave Quarters, Viator said free admission but we not go into house so only reason not giving better ra
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thank you for the review!
The tickets you purchased included admission to the Isaiah Davenport mansion. But since you rescheduled your tour due to bad weather, the house wasn’t available for tours the day you took the tour so the company refunded you the house admission portion of your tickets so you could apply the money to another house museum of your choosing. Y’all were aware of this at the time of the tour.
Gladys_C, Jul 2024
He explained the history of the homes in a fun and informative manner. The pace was good and we enjoyed it.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour!
Thomas_C, May 2024
The tour itself was informative, but our tour guide needs to remember that he is in the service and tourism business and he should take care to embrace inclusion of all peoples and opinions. Brad (real name William tour operator number 1204) needs to curb his opinions and keep his political views to himself! You never know who you will have in a tour group, and it is simply bad business to potentially alienate the entire group in the first two minutes! To start with, he texted us the evening before giving a BS story asking us to switch to the following day. I suspect that we were the only two on the tour and since he had only three on the next day he didn’t want to do both tours. My suspicions were confirmed when we showed up the next day and were the only two who had been scheduled for the day before! Second, “Brad” was then late for our tour the following day. It was no big deal, but was still a little annoying! Then within the first two minutes, he offended us by asking where we were from and then making disparaging remarks about our original state! He then proceeded to insult the ENTIRE group about it being a good thing that “at least we now all live in very ‘RED’ states” at which point the other people in our group actually had to ask him to please leave politics out the discussions! Don’t get me wrong, ‘Brad’ has every right to his views, it is just not appropriate to bring them up when he has no idea who he was talking to! He made a few other comments during the tour, but at that point we were pretty much over things.
We will for sure avoid using your services in the past as we were very put off by the poor choices of this tour guide!
Response from Host, May 2024
We asked you to change days because the guide scheduled to give the tour had been asked to serve that day as an alternate juror for jury duty.
As for William, he is a guide with 25 years experience and a native. People often ask him about things like constitutional carry, open containers on the streets and related subjects. He tries to Segway that in to the Homes tour and is usually successful. Most folks also ask if the houses go for sale and how much they sell for. But guides aren’t real estate agents but he tries to oblige.
It’s been a very long time since we’ve had a guest have a hissy fit to this magnitude.
You might want to give a future guide a list of what all offends you before your next tour experience.
