It’s a great experience and very informative. We liked how he educated on why and how blacks became slave owners some in part were family members although we know some owned others but It’s never shared the reasons and we appreciated that.

The guide "made" the tour! His comprehensive knowledge of Savannah history, combined with humorous stories made history "come alive". Not only did he know Savannah of long ago, but also knew the people of Savannah today!

Super interesting and a very knowledgeable tour guide. We saw the entire historic district and learned so much. There was a lot of walking (which we love) but some people in the group got pretty tired.

Our guide was so knowledgeable of Savannah history. We learned so much. I highly recommend this tour, if you love learning about the Civil War. We stopped at so many places and along the way our guide pointed out great places to eat, which we hit up after.

Guide Champ was very knowledgeable in Civil War history and Savannah's part in it. If your looking for more information about the city overall, check out a different tour. This is an in depth look specific to the Civil War. Great info for history buffs.

Thank you for your feedback! We offer city tours daily that are a great overview of Savannah. This is our Civil War tour so that is why the focus of the entire tour is just Civil War.

Bring water, especially if it’s a warm day. Champ, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable about history in general; not just the Civil War. And he welcomes questions & comments. It’s a casual stroll with several opportunities to sit for a few minutes. We gained a number of new insights into the Civil War era — events that led up to the conflict and events after. Very enjoyable!

Our experience was great. The guide met us on time, gave us a great look into the Civil War . We comfortably walked through Savannah and he kept with the timeline. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour that morning and it was very enjoyable!

Champ was our tour guide and he was awesome and knowledgeable. He took the time to show the tour group certain trees, plants and flowers in the area. His education on the civil war was vast. Our son said he learned a few things he didn’t know pre it’s to the tour. Great tour, guide and we highly recommend.
