I love to visit zoos wherever my travels take me. The San Diego Zoo and Safari park is the greatest I have ever been in. The variety of animals is breathtaking. This is my second visit to the zoo/park and I recommend it to anyone visiting the SD area.

Wonderful park. A lot of walking because the habitats are large and things are spaced out. Bring water too. But a beautiful and well planned layout.

It's a lot of walking places huge plan a head very hard to do entire safari park in one visit but definitely worth it the park is immaculate the animals are lively the volunteers are very kind and helpful as well extremely knowledgeable.

We are so glad we chose the 2-visit tickets. Both parks were unique and enjoyable. With an exit stamp, our tickets allowed us to leave & return the day we went to the zoo so we could eat offsite.

The San Diego Zoo and Safari were both amazing, I enjoyed both. It was fascinating to see the living spaces that was similar to each natural habitat.
I bundled the attractions and was pleased that option was available as it saved me a significant amount of money.

The Safari park was a complete waste of money. There was a 75 min wait to ride the tram. The excursions were outrageous and sold out. I would never go there again.

Great zoo to explore - we had a great time walking around and seeing all of the animals and plants.
Took a trip to Safari Park on a separate day which was also fun but we enjoyed the zoo more as there was more to see and do there.

The tickets did you sent were not recognized by zoo scanners or manually entered so I have to buy the tickets again in the park and I was acompanied with my wife, son and granddaughters. It was stressful and disapointed moment my granddaughter asking me why cant get in in the zoo

This was a wonderful family getaway. Our 3 adult children and our grandson thoroughly enjoyed both parks. There was plenty to see and small crowds allowed for us to see everything. The volunteers at the safari park were super helpful and friendly. We would go back again.

It’s probably on me but Viator did absolutely nothing to try to alleviate the matter. THIS IS FOR ONE DAY ONLY. It’s really hard to do both in one day ba d ABSOLUTELY not worth it. My mistake is that I thought it was for 2 days because the description says 2 places so I thought it was for multi days. And Viator makes you pick a day. Just buy it on the website. This is not much of a deal and the park is 45min away from each other.
All that to say I highly not recommend this. Not worth it. The description is confusing and misleading because common sense doesn’t tell you to do both in a day. Prices are the same on zoos website. I went to SD zoo one day and the following day to safari only to realize it’s only good for 1 day. DO NOT BUY and also aviators customer service is absolute trash. Really deters me from buying from Viator again.

The San Diego zoo was amazing! Fun. Lots of animals and good healthy walking. Even with a little rain we had a blast. Went to Safari park next day..and was not as impressed. Firstly, it's 30 miles away from San Diego..so it was a $65 Uber ride to and from. Not as many animals..the few we did see we saw up close and personal at the zoo. I'd recommend the zoo..the Safari park not so much.

We purchased our tickets through Viator and had zero issues using them. They scanned right at the entry without any issues.
Heads up: October is Kids Free month! So kids 11 years and under do not require a ticket for admission into the park. Lots of babies to see right now (October 2nd, 2023).
Lots of food options to choose from (be prepared, most are between $15-$20 plus drinks). The beer gardens were a nice treat for the adults - we loved the frozen blended margaritas! Drinks were expensive but once you get your refills for the day, it evens out. Be prepared to spend money!
We spent 7 hours at the Zoo and was able to see almost everything.
We went to the Safari for day 2 - it wasn’t as good. A lot of the attractions were closed (examples: the petting zoo and the tigers), as well, the food options were limited. I would say about 30% of the food options were open. May have been that we were there October 3rd, and it’s their end of season. The highlight was the Africa Tram! We were able to get to see the Rhino’s, Giraffes, and lions. We spent 4 hours here and saw almost everything. I will say, it is quite deceiving that the Safari rides are prices you have to pay on top of your ticket. Most of the Safari’s (keep rides) are $90 US which is more than the ticket to get in. While it would have been fun to experience that, I’m not willing to spend those kind of extras for a short experience.
Highly recommend the zoo! Not sure I would go back to the safari.

We found the zoo interesting and fun to walk around. The Safari Park was a disappointment. It was difficult to find your way from one place to the next since the numbered poles that were to guide you were too high up to notice, covered by foliage, or off the main path. There seemed to be no direct route anywhere, which is tough on a 5-yo who just wants to get to a certain spot. The Safari ride was ok, but nothing special.
