Terrific tour guide. Lots of walking and lots of information about the Park’s history. Would definitely recommend this tour if you have never been to Balboa Park. We plan to return to the Park and take advantage of all the museums and other venues.

We had an amazing day with Ms Jennifer, she was very knowledgeable, personable and an all around great gal. She lead my family through the park with easy and was very accommodating to our special needs. As a party 10 with ages ranging from 90yrs down to 11, we all had a great time exploring this wonderful park and learning about it's awesome history. We all give it a 10 and we highly recommend this tour, with its history, architecture, botanical gardens and so much more, no visit to San Diego is complete if you missed Balboa Park...and the we greatly appreciate Ms Jennifer for making this tour all the better. Truly a great time was had by all.

We were a little late due to literally no parking within a fifteen min walk. But when my wife tried to explain that, she got a snarky, “I guess you’ll know to call next time.” We would have except the phone number wasn’t provided in the tour confirmation or ticket. Add to that, she was the only one waiting since we were the only ones on the tour. That wasn’t enough to give the guide pause in showing her displeasure with rudeness about waiting 15 min. That seemed like an overreaction since we had paid for the time and she didn’t have to do anything but wait. She began by being disagreeable with sarcasm and being upset at my asking questions. She really wasn’t suited to the position and seemed generally unhappy about being there. We were glad to cut the tour short and rid ourselves of her unpleasant demeanor.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that the tour experience didn’t feel welcoming or positive — that’s never the impression I want guests to leave with, and I regret that I missed the mark in this case.
I completely understand how frustrating parking challenges can be, especially in an unfamiliar area. My comment about calling ahead wasn’t meant as criticism, but rather as a helpful suggestion for the future. I realize now that it may not have come across that way, and I’m sorry if it added to your stress.
For future guests’ reference, Viator provides our phone number on their voucher, and we send a pre-tour text message the day before the tour that includes a waiver link, a reminder to arrive 10 minutes early, and encourage guests to contact us at that number if anything unexpected comes up. I also send a text about 5 minutes before the scheduled start time to offer help if someone is running behind. In your case, I appreciated your wife calling shortly after the start time to let me know you were parked and on your way.
When there are other participants, we do need to begin the tour on time and unfortunately can’t accept guests who arrive more than 15 minutes late. Since you were the only guests booked and arrived nearly 20 minutes after the scheduled time, I adjusted the route and timing to make sure you saw the key highlights and still returned in time for your 2-hour metered parking. Since it is a 2-hour tour it necessitated trimming 25% of it to allow you time to walk back to your car to avoid a ticket.
Based on our conversation and your friendly tone throughout, I had the impression that you were enjoying the tour. My intention was to keep the experience flowing while still covering everything, but I understand that might have come across as rushing through certain explanations. I appreciate that feedback and will continue working to better balance timing adjustments with creating space for questions and conversation.

Jennifer was absolutely amazing! We had trouble finding parking and were a couple minutes late but she was very understanding. We learned so much about the history and construction of Balboa Park and I even had one of the best coffees I’ve ever had! I had the peanut butter espresso frappe and my fiancé had the peach tea lemonade (which is also Jennifer’s favorite!). I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. She joked with us and gave us a decent amount of time to check out shops and different attractions. If I could give this a higher star rating, I would in an instant!

Excellent tour! Length and pacing were perfect. It didn’t feel like a ton of walking. It’s quite a nice stroll through the park and our guide, Jennifer, was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made it a great experience for our group. You hit the coffee stand about half way through and it’s delicious! I would definitely recommend this tour!
