If for some reason it looks like the tour will not go (this is rare but does occasionally happen), we will personally call you with a tour update 2-3 hours before your tour is set to go. If your tour does not go, again very rare, we will refund you or move you to another date. Feel free to call or email us with any questions or if you just want an update on how many have signed up so far. If we don't pick up immediately we will get back to you shortly.

Archie knew a lot of history about all the places we went to. His personality and knowledge made the tour memorable. I’m uploading a picture that I took with my phone. Look at the top left window. Enlarge it so you can see that something came out on that window. It scared us. Also in that house we saw a tasle move on its own and try hen it would stop and move again. I felt dizzy and lightheaded in that house. I only told my daughter how I felt.

i did the 9:00pm tour in a group of no one i knew and it was SPOOKY! our tour guild luther was incredible with his story telling and the different locations were amazing. if you do this experience i recommend bringing cash for tips for the driver and ur guild, they’re all very wonderful and are a small business here in San diego.

Really fun thing to do I the city. We didn’t know what to do with our teens on our summer trip and this was really fun and they loved it. 2 hours went by fast.
Robert_H, Jul 2026
This is a must do tour if you are in the area and like haunted tours. Cowboy Pete is such a fun and informative tour guide. He is a great storyteller and is constantly keeping you entertained with stories while riding/walking from location to location. This tour is also the only haunted tour in San Diego that gives you access to certain locations. I highly recommend this tour!
MariaCecilia_G, Jul 2026
It's not just a haunted tour, it's history. I grew up in San Diego and I learned so much from this tour and from Kat, our guide.
Sara_S, Jul 2026
Historical info and photos while visiting interesting places. Pick up was very late due to traffic from a ball game, but the host was flexible to adjust the tour. I recommend this event.
Angela_B, Jul 2026
Don't get traveler's diarrhea at the last minute because they won't issue you a refund. Started pooping on the drive to the event...had to stop multiple times before deciding they wouldn't appreciate me having an accident on their bus. I probably should've just come & let the cards fall where they may.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Angela, It's a bummer you were unable to attend. We were there waiting for you. However, we did not receive notice before the tour that you would not be joining us. A reminder was sent personally in advance you could have replied to, and our host also attempted to contact you when you did not arrive. The group waited, and we did not receive a response until after the scheduled tour time.
Your group didn't even bother to let us know you all would not show.
Because we were not informed beforehand, we had no opportunity to resell the reserved tickets or depart on time. That delay affected the other guests, who could otherwise have enjoyed additional stories and more time on the tour.
We also encourage guests to contact us directly when an unexpected situation arises. Refund requests made through a third-party booking platform are subject to that platform’s rules as well as the cancellation policy accepted at the time of booking, which can limit the flexibility available to us.
I have records and contact information of all the correspondences in this case, the host's reachout text, my personal pre-text to you all. You no show, no responded until after the fact and then asked for a full refund for no showing and no responding. Then you hurt us with this review.
Full Disclosure
This review is so unfair and harmful I am thinking of seeking legal consule which we have never even considered before. I hate even thinking of that but this is so harmful and mean we did nothing wrong. I am bummed to have to make that effort and spend our time on something so lame. We just want to take people on tours, have then have fun and enjoy doing that.
Please come and join our tour people. We are the only local SD ghost tour left, the one that has inside access, the highest reivews overall on the major review platforms. We care. I am a real person we all are. Just please let us know if you are not going to show, don't make the group wait when you aren't coming, don't get mad at us after the fact and please give us a chance to sell the spots when able. Appreciate you all.

This tour was very fun! We got to learn the history of the places we visited and the stories were very intriguing. Cowboy Pete was a great tour guide with a fun personality and great story telling skills. Perfect mix of riding on the bus and being in or near the locations.
Crystal_M, Jun 2026
Just silly. Not even worth the time to describe it. Just walking around while someone shares silly stories about muddled history.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Is this Crystal McC? If so legit review (not a competitor paying for negative vague reviews). I sent you the text about having a strong sense of humor - why didn't you just cancel? We call out not going without it. Why hurt us when we tried to warn you off in several places.
Definitely people bring a sense of humor please we'd rather you didn't go. I really try to scare people off for the humor part and the lack of jump scares clowns and monster there are none. There is energy but you have to get very lucky.
The history is historian verify - some of our locations make us verify our information with them. It is a bus tour you are reviewing not just walking around.
I am so sorry you went. In the future go with the national companies and stayed away from the local tours. Nationals have similar stories in many towns, sure they change names but you can depend on there perfomance to be homogenized safe and humorless (most).
Anyone reading this if you have a less then 4 star experience reach out to me directly with constructive feedback for an up to 3 people likely full refund. We stand behind our tours. I just don't know what else I could have done to stop Crystal from going. Have a sense of humor ;)
BEN_N, Jun 2026
Wasnt scary mostly information a lot of talking, they said hotels were haunted but we couldn’t go in it
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Anyone reading this if you have a less then 5 star experience just rerach out to me directly and give some constructive feedback for a likely full refund up to 3 people.
We are different then out national competitors. We stand behind our tours - we are the only remaining local ghost tour operator in SD. We do not pay for reviews positive or negative (though you should see how many companies want us to pay them for reviews positive for us or bashing our competitors, verified reviews too they say).
Please read some of our other reivews for example just at a glance one two days ago contradicts what Ben is saying. All real I am assuming Ben is real too.
That said the tour is not for everyone. Don't expect to be scared, there are no clowns or monsters jumping out at you. You do get access to the hotel, the house, the graveyard and the Villa.
I really try to get in front of people that want it scary must have missed Ben - sorry about that brother - not scary we do not have any vicious spirits on the tour. There is energy but it more offsetting or spooky then scary.
Ryan_G, Jun 2026
The tour was excellent with beautiful historic landmarks, a dose of comedy and some fun spooky history. We’d definitely recommend it to friends and family. Our tour guide Cowboy Pete was a hoot and very good at his guide role.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thanks Ryan!
Daniel_T, Jun 2026
Fun and informative. Cowboy Pete made it fun. The tour covered a lot more area of San Diego than we expected, which was nice.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you passing it on! :)
Roxi_o, May 2026
So much fun, and spooky! We had a blast and would recommend this to anyone visiting the area. Not much walking, but you do stand and listen for a little while at each stop. The bus was great. Spooky, but not too scary
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thanks! :)
Robert_D, May 2026
This was an extremely unique and well thought out way of exploring San Diego (Old Town, Sherman Heights, and Gaslamp Quarter). Kat, our guide was so funny, enthusiastic, and knowledge about the local history including the spooky parts of the history of San Diego. We got to go inside the Villa Montezuma property aka inside the house, Davis-Horton house, and the Grand Horton Hotel all of which are supposedly haunted. I personally didn't experience anything at the properties but they definitely felt spooky walking around inside... The ghost bus that transported us around town was super awesome and safe as well...
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Nice Kat will be delighted! Gratitude :)
Sheila_S, May 2026
I try to do a Ghost Tour every where I travel. From San Francisco to New Orleans, Budapest to Sydney. This was one of the best! Archie was an amazing raconteur. There are lots of ghost tours in San Diego, but this one gives exclusive entry to the actual sites. 10 out of 10!
Lisalynn_H, May 2026
My husband (not a believer) and I took this tour. It was a little corny but we visited several sites and even got to go inside of them! My favorite was the Horton Grand Hotel. Our guide, Pete was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We like to do a ghost tour or pub crawl in each city we visit. It gives us the opportunity to see parts of the city we may not have otherwise and then we know where to go back to later in our trip.
Jeremiah_B, Apr 2026
Super fun! Educational and entertaining!
The pickup spot for the bus is a little confusing. Look for the ghost tours sandwich board on the sidewalk at the intersection and just wait there.
The tour itself is awesome. Great locations and stories!
Fernando_R, Apr 2026
We had an amazing time on this San Diego ghost tour! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job mixing history with spooky stories, which kept everyone in our group interested from start to finish. You can tell they really know the area and care about making the experience fun and memorable.
The tour took us to some really interesting spots around downtown, and hearing the history behind the buildings made it feel more than just a ghost tour—it felt like a walking history lesson with a spooky twist. The storytelling was engaging, and there were plenty of moments that gave us chills.
What I appreciated most was how well-organized everything was and how the guide made sure everyone could hear and stay together. It was fun, a little creepy, and perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to try something different in San Diego.
I would definitely recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike. It’s a great way to see the city from a different perspective and learn some fascinating history along the way!
Christina_P, Apr 2026
Pete was great. Entertaining and very knowledgeable. Cool experience where you get to see so many historical San Diego sites.
Brenna_D, Apr 2026
Rosalinda was an amazing tour guide. She made her own costume!
I have lived in san diego my entire life, and i learned so many things on this tour! It was amazing!
Jessica_G, Apr 2026
Our tour guide was very funny and made our tour one of a kind! He had jokes, and took us around to multiple haunted sites. Definitely recommend.
Saleem_E, Apr 2026
We had a great time. Adrian was a fun guide and the tour got us into more locations than I expected.
Angela_J, Apr 2026
I took my 15 and 10 year old and it was the perfect amount of scary and historical for us! My 10-year-old loved Cowboy Pete. It was a fantastic haunted tour!
Sarah_P, Mar 2026
The tour was so fun, and the guide was great at what he does. The only complaint we had was it was SO hot. The bus did not have AC and everyone was sweating.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
I will have to look into that thanks for letting me know. The bus is supposed to have AC will get the freon recharged.
Ashley_C, Mar 2026
Cowboy Pete was our guide and was super fun and made the ghost tour exciting and spooky ! He knows his story’s by heart and really shared history of place in San Diego !
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! Passing this on :)
Jenn_P, Mar 2026
Unforgettable night. Worth the cost and highly recommend. Our tour guide Archie was knowledgeable and made the night fun and educational.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you! Passing that on to Archie. Really appreciate the kindness.
Luis_N, Mar 2026
Great time on this tour, the guide was awesome. This was more a of historical tour than a haunted one. The historical buildings we visited were hella cool. One of our visits did spoke me and my daughter, we just a ghostly feeling as soon as walked in. Again, great historic and ghostly time!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Nice glad you all were open to the energy some of the places really have something to be experienced. Thanks!
Candice_V, Mar 2026
Fun and informative. You get into places that are hard to access and fun to explore. Tour guides are knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thanks Candic! Means the world to us - gratitude!
